I still don't get why people believe in the flat earth theory. If you really think about it, the universe is a very selfish kind of object, and wants things to be as small as possible. If every star and planet were shaped like a piece of paper or a dinner plate, that would take up a lot of room, and in the case of stars, radiate more.
I have heard that some people believe just the Earth itself is flat, but why would that make any sense? Out of the thousands of planets out there, why is Earth some special exception? And what about light? If water and land is set up vertically, then why doesn't around half of the Earth get any light for hours on end? If it's horizontal, wouldn't there be rays of light that got thinner the farther they shone? And what about Antartica? With it melting due to global warming and just natural causes, this "arctic circle" would bleed out the water into the center of mass... Which would be somewhere around Africa. And once there isn't enough room, then water will flow outward and radiate until we all sink.
I still don't get it...
