First post! I win!

Seriously, I have a question. Normal human stat rolls are 4d6 and you take the top three, and if those equal a 16-18, you get to add another 1d6. If that die is also a six, you can add another 1d6, for a potential of a 30 if you max everything out.

With the other races, though, they have some numbers like 2d6+6, or 1d6+13. How do you want to work the bonus for them? If I could offer a suggestion, I would say that the 1d6 rolls get to add another d6 if a '6' is rolled, and on the 2d6 ones, give them a bonus roll if they get an 11-12. Does that work for you?

Well, lets give this dice roller a shot. <crosses fingers for good numbers>

Ignore the first Pb roll of 1d4+10; that is the roll for a male and I'm going to run a female officer.

For better or worse, I have arrived - not quite sure what I'd want to run yet, but some of the alien races seem promising. Garuda or Praxis have some promising inhabitants, though I haven't seen the Zentraedian side of things yet, either... decisions, decisions...

You could go with the Paraxian, and we would all be aliens with me being a Zentraedi and Psychie playing a Garudan.

How does a Praxian Cyclone rider sound? Since Alphas are out of the question, I'd probably pick up basic Beta training, right?

I don't think that the Alpha is off limits to the Paraxians in 2e, but that is a call that needs to be made by our Storyteller. But the Beta and Cyclone are absolutely good to go with.

So, a couple of things.
  1. Sherwood Sherwood , The core 2e book says stats are 3d6 with an extra d6 if high enough. I’m totally missing the 4d6.
  2. Yes to your suggestion on rolling alien stats for sure! The only problem: I read that somewhere in one of these books and I’m wracking brain trying to find it.
  3. Did they change the Praxians using Alphas on the UEEF Sourcebook? I’m totally fine with it, just want to see where they changed it.

Question to those who are familiar with timelines and stuff: Does Praxis exist at the point in time where we start the rp, or did it blow up already? I'm actually not too familiar with the series in itself, mostly learnt about it due to various rps here.

1. Maybe it was just in the Rifts book that I saw a 4d6 roll. I may be confusing the two. After all, while I am totally awesome, I do on rare occasions make a mistake. :coolshades:
2. Great. I am nearly done with my character, and once I go back and revisit a few rolls, I'll have her posted.
3. I know that the Bearmen are too big to fit in a Veritech, but I have not seen anything that says a Paraxian can't pilot an Alpha. I'll have to take a look through the book to see if it says anything one way or the other.

From what I've read in the timeline, Paraxis has been destroyed in 2026, and the Haydonites' betrayal happens in 2044-ish.

Yeah, from what I understand about the Praxians, it’s just that they like to fight face-to-face up close and don’t feel they can do that in a Veritech. That said, perhaps enough time has passed that maybe some have chosen to forgo the old ways and get with the times.

We're definitely post-Haydonite betrayal.

I'm almost ready to post my character. Speaking of characters, Sherwood, that is a cool pic for your girl!

Thank you! It was a tough choice between that one and a green skinned lady with a knife. Both look pretty cool to me.

I had forgotten that you roll one stat at a time. It’s so strange to me still that you don’t get to choose where your scores go, like D&D.

Well, you can do that if you are playing a human. All of their attributes are the same, so you can plug them where you want to. With the other races, some rolls are 1d6, others are 2d6 or other rolls. Those are harder to wiggle about.

Yeah, that totally makes sense and is super interesting.

Actually, I forgot to ask. Does anyone wish to be the squadron leader in your little outfit?

I had planned on having Alyxis being a mid-level commander and Female Power Armor pilot in the Zentraedi fleet before the ship she was on got in contact with the UEEF, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for her to take the lead. Unless someone else is anxious to be in charge of this band of misfits.
