I kinda want them to be close enough that the whole thing about Cain being selected will affect their relationship

I was thinking that the Kamekura Empire was Japanese inspired and the Caledonian Republic had made the major advancements in gun technology

Well yeah, I did see that part you mentioned earlier, but any other details? How involved do you want them to get? And how modern would be the guns, because I'm not sure how well modern guns are gonna fit into the setting. Flintlock rifles and magic powered guns I'm down for.
