News & Updates PSA: Why We Don't Allow Erotic Roleplaying

Eh. I'm fine with it off-site usually. RP is meant to create believable characters and if 2 people consent to roleplaying it then eh. Let them RP it in their own time. Until then just say fade to Black.
Yes, to contribute to the actual conversation at hand (which isn't actually a conversation js, this is a rule that will not change), I've never seen so many people so actively disgusted by a concept and, in some cases, seemingly judging those who choose to partake. Y'all. People aren't deviant for choosing to write out their characters doing sexual things with other consenting adults in spaces that allow that. That's entirely their prerogative, and they're not inherently disgusting for it. We're all allowed to have our preferences, but let's not 'rp-shame'.
That said, law and the comfort of all above personal inclinations, so of course all ERP on-site should be reported and shut down. This should be a safe, legal place for everyone. There's no way around it, no loopholes to be found, and it's sucky to even argue with the principle given the difficulty of trying to implement a system that would allow the apparent willing minority to ERP on-site. Speaking as someone who was supposedly 18 online by the age of like 12 (*facepalm*), it would be way too easy for any attempt to make this a thing on-site to backfire. And the site is vastly more important than anyone's desire of on-site love scenes. If it's that important to you, exit stage left. FTB is a thing. Guys, do it for the children.

I do think it's funny that kids can read and write about people's heads being shot or hacked off and hardly anyone bats an eye at the violence as long as it's not super descriptive. There's something messed-up in the whole implied sex vs. overt violence thing, because we all know only male nipples should be accepted and acknowledged and inoffensive but rifles and katanas are agender. But that's not an RpN issue, it's a societal issue. Let's just keep things fun, safe and creative and keep the site up.

Could not be said better myself at the end. Also, yea. I always lied about my age when joining sites at that age. So good job for being overwhelmingly right about this :D

As this is not discussing the PSA itself, Please direct your conversation in a new thread in General Discussion. ;3
