Literature What's the last book you really loved?

Adonya

Southern Sass
It's been a great while since a book stole my heart, and I've been looking for something to read. I love romance, but it needs to come with an intriguing plot. Lay your faves on me of all types because I am probably not the only one who could use a good read!

The little prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
(I think that this is going to be my favourite book forever now)
Though it doesn'the have any romance in it, I would highly recommend you reading it (if you haven't already): it's awesome and even if you don't like you won't be wasting a lot of time on it because this book is really thin.

I've seen bits of the cartoon and it's cute, I'll definitely look into it.

Probably Z: A Novel Of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler. There is romance but it's not much of a healthy relationship.

I'm in the midst of reading the second book in the Malazan Book of the Fallen, Deadhouse Gates. It's pretty rad.

Besides that, I always reread Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes or The Halloween Tree every October.

The Mango Bride by Marivi Soliven, it's a little confusing, but it's really good, I must say.

Well, sad to say.... Almost every book I read breaks me apart or steals my soul or captures my heart in some way.
The most notable examples of this are:
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
All the Bright Places by Elizabeth Niven
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Steifvater

Now the last book I actually loved so much I cried and screamed with joy and was bouncing off the walls about was The Raven King by Maggie Steifvater. She's absolutely fantastic. The entire Raven Cycle series was great, but the fourth and final book was an actual masterpiece, and I melted with every new page. It kept me on the edge of my seat and had me giving Stiefvater a standing ovation by the end of it. I read it about two months ago and I've been aching to reread the entire series ever since then.

Dante's Inferno. I just love when people expand on religious concepts like this, despite being a person that is as far from being religious as possible.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern is a good one in my opinion, but it gets mixed reviews. Especially since the summary on the cover and such doesn't exactly match what goes on in the. It's there, but not the main focus. Anyway, if you romance, magicians and London, give it a try. The writing is fantastic, and the story, while a bit confusing (at least to me) at first, is interesting.

The scarlet gospels by Clive Barker. It gives what might be the most original concept of hell and Lucifer I have ever heard of. It's a dark book, though utterly fascinating to read! I really enjoyed it and defiantly recommend =)

Diablo: the sin wars. Last book I ever read for FUN. Hamlet was also fascinating, even if it was something read for college english.

I'm listening to World War Z on audiobook and I'm loving it. I like that someone really examined in depth the human side of what a zombie outbreak would be like and how it spans across the world. Plus, the audiobook format really fits since it's an oral history.

There's a book titled 'secret life of cow's ' that I'll be treating myself to. It sounds pretty funny to be honest lol ^_^

It's quite funny that I absolutely love roleplaying, but despise books. I don't know what it is, but I'm never able to finish them. I read half the book, then just forget about it.

There's only one exception to it. Metro 2033. That book is a masterpiece that I've re-read at least twice. No book can compete with it's incredible atmosphere and interesting characters, even though it's written fairly simply.

everything is illuminated by jonathan safran foer

it was recommended by a youtuber i loved watching three years ago - i forgot about it completely, then found it at a second hand market for 50 cents and read it in two days.
absolutely phenomenal read, hilarious and heartbreaking and perfect

Bridge of Birds by Barry Hughart!

The basic premise is that it’s set in ancient China, and stars a detective with a slight flaw in his character accompanied by his sidekick Number 10 Ox, who is the tenth son of his father and is strong as an ox. They go around solving mysteries :)

101 Uses For Dead Meerkat. It made me laugh out loud. Wasn't an incredible book. Just a picture book that cheers me up when I need it.
