I've been catching up on anime in recent years after putting it off for a while and have found some new favorites such as World End: What Do You Do At The End of The World?
Anyone else have any favorites from this year or the last?

I think KonoSuba, Yuri!!! on Ice, Boku no Hero Academia and Mob Psycho 100 were quite remarkable, although of course, it is all a matter of personal preference.

Boku no Hero! Love it so much! I even joined an RP about it, the people there were so nice to me , even though I was super new :)

I loved a lot of them. Boku no hero , konosuba, but I think my absolute favorite is defintely the still airing re: creators. It's gonna take a lot for this show that even managed to make a recap episode exciting to be taken from it's position at this point.

I know some people are going to think this an old meme or disagree with me, but I really enjoyed Bananya as an anime. It was one of my top 2016 anime. The other amines listed here are pretty good as well.

Many good mentions. I'm currently watching Re:Creators. It speaks to me as an aspiring writer/artist-I suppose "creator" would be the most proper term. I feel like it offers good insight as well as an intriguing theme that I've always wished to see in action. Oh I didn't catch that is was mentioned already. Silly me. Either way, I find it excellent.

Yeah, I mentioned it, but it deserves more mentions ;)

I'm currently watching Re: Creators, but I've only just started the first episode so I can't give my own opinion on it.

Hard to say since I've dropped a lot of shows already and have been reading boku no hero for a year and haven't watched the anime. Since it's all old news to me.

Recreators: It's alright. It's as Digibro or some anime youtuber put it, like a more serious shirobako with fantasy fights. It's main problem is they spend so much time on the exposition of the world and its mechanics, that even in an anime with only 22 episodes...they're still info dumping in episode 16. I think it's safe to say that re creators took its fantasy mechanics way too seriously and neglected the story.

Netoge: It's just a cute slice of life show where a cute girl who's completely immersed in gaming, learns to love the real world as well.

Fate apocrypha is turning out to be good, if you like the fate series.

Kakeguri is a new summer anime like fate apocrypha, but totallly wuuuurrffff. If you watch one anime, watch that.

Re creators is one of the new shows I'm currently watching.

Netoge kinda sounds like me but without much of the loving the real world part. Might check that out.

I've spent so much time puting off the Fate series for so long since I always end up having so many others that I need to finish. I might finally start this series now.

Kakeguri is something I was looking forward to since I read the manta which was pretty enjoyable.

Recreators is one of the only shows that I actually watch and plan to finish, but it's disappointing.

Episode 1 all the things!

Fate apocrypha is written almost as if the series expects you to already understand the basic mechanics of the series. I would start with unlimited blade works by ufotable or fate zero.

haha yea,but the scanlation has slowed down recently. ;-; yumeko still in peril.

For 2016: KonoSuba(Season 2 was a bit meh imo), Boku No Hero Academia, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, 91 Days, Bungou Stray Dogs, Drifters,
Haikyuu!!: Karasuno Koukou vs Shiratorizawa Gakuen Koukou, Arslan Senki and Hibike Euphonium.

As for 2017: Tsuki ga Kirei, Boku no Hero Academia, Kuzu no Honkai, Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata ♭.

Summer 2017(too early to really consider them the best but I like these ones and a few could easily be AOTY): Kakegurui, Koi to Uso, Ballroom e Youkoso.

My personal Anime of 2016-2017 would be a tied between Food Wars!, Haikyuu!! and Boku no Hero Academia.(wow, 3 shounen jump series)

I highly recommend reading the manga for: Kakegurui, Ballroom e Youkoso, Koi to Uso, Boku no Hero Academia, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma.

I'm usually interested in at most 1 or 2 each season, but this season is pretty promising. Last year I haven't really kept up so no comment on those. (Still about to write a wall, though)

Re:Creators has a really appealing idea, but I feel like it's got a number of problems. The info-dumping is bothering me a little, but I don't blame them for trying to explain the effects and mechanics of the (pretty crazy) thing that's happening semi-logically. As much as I like the "fox" personality, I feel like Magane kind of derails the plot a little, instead of serving as plot device as that archetype usually does, and the monologues were a little overextended. Then there's the melodrama aspect, it seemed too forced in the last episodes. The main character too, he's easily my least liked character there. Not personality-wise, but because he, the protagonist of all people, barely made any difference in the story so far. Sure, he may have had an effect in events that happened before the beginning, and he might do something big now that we're nearing the end...but why wait 15 episodes to start making him matter? Clumsy/weak protagonists are one thing, but if the main character's not really contributing to the story, it's an issue. Anyway, I'll still watch it to the end. It's still good, but what I just said add some disappointment in the mix.

Attack on Titan's latest season is pretty good. Even if you kept up with the manga like me, it might have lost some of the impact it would've had otherwise, but the way they animated and voiced it makes it worth it to revisit the plot.

Kakegurui is a must-watch if you like anime involving games (No Game No Life and Imawa no Kuni no Arisu being other really good ones). The only bad thing I can point out is how nearly every single character so far aside from the main guy starts off seeming to be decent, but then goes crazy/sadistic during the games. Now that makes sense considering the environment they're in, but if they keep recycling that all the time it's going to be annoying.

Katsugeki Touken Ranbu is also looking good, the studio making them is known for really impressive animations and soundtracks (the same that worked on Fate/UBW and Fate/Zero). Even if you're not interested in the historical part, it's a pretty solid action one.

Fate/Apocrypha has probably the most interesting setup from all the Fate anime. I mean, twice the amount of masters and servants than usual? Who could complain? But that's the same reason it's better to watch the others first, since this one is a twist in the rules it might get a bit confusing. I hope it keeps the more mature angle, like Fate/Zero. If you want to only watch one of the previous Fate anime, then Zero is my recommendation. Otherwise, Fate/UBW is good too and will follow the timeline. It's a different (and better done, in my opinion) route than Fate/Stay Night, though the latter isn't really bad...it's still Fate, just not as good as the rest.

Another one is Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e...which should mean Welcome to the True (something something) Classroom, according to my limited japanese. Only 1 episode out so far so it's hard to tell which way it'll go, but I'm getting vibes of both Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru (better known as Oregairu) and Baka to Test, perhaps even with a tint of Danganronpa, which would be amazing.

I'm also planning on watching the new Jigoku Shoujo/ Hell Girl season, since they've kept the story interesting ever since it started for me. Season 3 might have been their low point, but I'm hoping they're going to overcome it with this one.
