Imperium! - CARPE ROMA

Shepard

The Not-So-Rottenfuhrer

Quo Usque Pro Roma Ibis?

Have you ever played Rome Total War and wished you could play it with your own individual twist? That's what CARPE ROMA is here to do.

I've been dying to have a Roman era RP. Rome would be split RTW style with as many houses as necessary and the SPQR (admin staff) at Rome itself. This can be cooperative OR PvP.

Simple (optionally detailed) turn basis with minimum information including military numbers/ locations, recruiting, and construction.

The Roman atmosphere is filled with endless possibilities for alternate story lines. The guiding question of this RP will stand on the basis of one question:

Quo Usque Pro Roma Ibis?

How far will you go for Rome?

Carpe diem, Carpe Roma.

Seize the day, Seize Rome.

I'm putting the final touches on the CS.

Would you rather have a building tech tree modeled off of Rome II, Rome I, or no tree at all?

Also, here is what I currently have:

Well I prefer the building system before they moved to the new engine (e.g. you were suddenly drastically limited and its only gotten worse over time) but I feel Rome 2 will make your job leagues easier.

Also Could I possibly claim the South East? I wanna fuck up some Greeks

I see what you mean and yes of course. This time period will be just after Rome's victory over the Samnites and Etruscans. Current opposition is the Greek Colonies of Magna Graecia on Sicalia as well as the Carthagian fishing villages. To the north, the Alpine and Cisalpine regions are home to barbaric tribes.

In regards to building systems, I'm down to make a simplified building tech tree that doesn't have all the craps like increased pollution but I would like to see a system that promotes specialties within each city

I always launch my campaign against the Carthage and savage tribes from a rally area there.

Also, will we need to make accurate Houses, as in they were actually real in Roman times, or can we just kind of make one up?

@Shepard

@Shepard

I dont care. There won't be Julius Caesar if that's what you're hinting at. From the point of the Roman Republic onward, everything is becoming alternate history.

I dont care if you call your house "House of Skull Crushers". It's your RP.

 But that's the farthest city from....If you wish.

Its not the farthest city when you play a mod...which has a name I have forgotten. Changes a bunch of stuff in game, and give all three islands off the coast of Italy to Carthage. So I launch from Arminium and sail down.

Oh. I was just going off of Rome II's map.

Also, should I make Neapolis an open choice? I was thinking of owning it as the SPQR but meh.

It is really close to Rome, technically, so I would think it would belong to one of most loyal Houses, or SPQR itself. Kind of like a privilege to rule from.

Yeah. Rome isnt considered a naval city so it shouldnt be a problem.

Also, you can declare war on the SPQR Rome whenever you want.

Well I was planning on doing that eventually anyway...thanks for the clearance though.

Wouldn't be Rome without a little civil war here and there...

Maybe its just my proximity to those northern savages...their insanity is just rubbing off on me and my army...

After Marius, you better believe Ima employ my Praetorians

Those Praetorians are pretty easy to buy off though with a few gold coins behind the scenes...

Either way, I wont be starting a civil war at the beginning of the rp, thats too soon. It would come later if it does.
