Reclaiming The Old New World
The New World was well known to exist, too many documents recovered that were written before the Schism referenced it for there to be any doubt. But the real question was how to get there. That was answered 38 years ago by the Great Explorer Clément Girardot. Upon his return to the rulers of Europe he told tales of its mystique, its wonder and its wild and unconquered landscapes. While Girardot did, as far as anyone could tell, discover the lands to the west, he didn't explore them. He really knew nothing of the true riches that could await any nation that successfully colonized this new land and the Dangers it held within its hulking landmass. It wasn't until 2 years ago, when the merchant Cole MacManus returned with a ship laden in raw Skisia, a rare mineral (at least in the old world) with powerful capabilities, that the powerful nations of the world began to really take notice.

The first attempts at colonizing began that very year, though nothing was ever heard from these early attempts. Now, however, much of the old world has taken notice and sent its own attempts to tame the newly discovered landmass. This is where we find ourselves. You are the leader of one such attempt and your home nation is expecting riches to flow from your ports and into their coffers. Will you conquer this great land for your liege, perhaps even for yourself declaring your own nation... or will you fade into obscuraty like the attempts before you that failed quietly into the night.

HELLO!
So, its been a loooong while since I tried running a Nation Building RP, or even a Forum RP in general but I am up for giving it another go. I am hoping that some of you will be interested and willing to explore my world, inspired by the 'Sunset Isles' setting I use in my D&D games. (A Post Apocalyptic Feudal Fantasy UK Setting)

To add the world lore that helps set the stage for how this weird world exists, a new bomb was made, one that had the benefits of EMP's, Chemical weapons and big explody bombs like Nukes without the downsides. This bomb would fuse metal objects into blocks of metal about the same shape they were before but otherwise functionally useless, effectively allowing you to EMP guns just as you would electronics. It would wipe out human beings in the area without overly damaging buildings too terribly and it had high penetration, penetrating all but the most secure of paranoid government bunkers. This weapon was eventually used in a war where it was discovered it had unforseen effects when used on this scale and broke the barriers between our plane and many others, allowing fantasy creatures, magic and such, to enter the world as well as, in extreme cases where many bombs did go bang, shaping the terrain and merging it with the landscapes of other worlds.

Any questions, just ask.

There will be a mix of dice based chance deciding outcomes as well as it being influenced by the narrative.
You would:
Create your home nation (though they would effectively be an NPC controlled by me)
Create your leader
Decide the strengths and weaknesses of your colony
Design your forces
&
Explore my own take on a fantasy, magical, apocalyptic North America

If this sounds cool or interesting to you, let me know in this post and, provided enough people genuinely want to join me in this endeavor, I shall begin working on getting the Character sheets out for you all!

Enough people seem interested so theres the CS thread!

This looks super cool!! I'm interested in joining up if you are still looking for players

Sure, go for it! :D
An 'island' that is made up of multiple boats that are somehow anchored (pun not fully intended) together. The island would drift on and off the shore and would be inhabited by amphibious and fully aquatic species (like Tritons, Mermaids, Sirens ect). They would be mostly pescatarian as their main source of food would be aquatic plants and wild life.

Welcome! Take a look at the link to the character sheets in the first post. The character sheet templates will be on that page.

That seems acheiveable, though if this 'island' is already in the New World, on its shores, it would provide some extra challenges and risks but its certainly doable. I wonder how those races ended up in this world, (though there are many answers you can come up with and I am sure I'll love them) and I look forward to meeting them :D

Awesome!! Thank you! I'll start working on the character sheet :)

This looks very cool, can i still join?
Hey, I didn't quite plan this out as well as I should and so its going to be rebooted (Thats a note to everyone really but I wouldn't have said anything without the reminder) Once I have had a moment to plan a bit better and get a little more prepped. I will reopen this with some shiny new CS's and such. So if you wait around I shall endeavor to let everyone know when that happens!

This looks great! I saw that you are currently rebooting this and I just wanted to say I'm interested in whenever you plan to start it up again!
