I've reworked Gerry and Springer's sheet. I need to add in a portrait of Gerry, but I've now revised both personalities, added another ability, and put in Springer's picture.

I'm going to sleep now.

Edit: I'll probably go back and revise it one last time tomorrow, I feel like I've might've over-exaggerated in some places-

Looks great to me Banana! Gerry's 'I'm the best, lemme show you' vibe is going to be interesting to throw into our mix of characters. Especially considering the nature of the RP, we'll have to see how well that holds up in the face of the Incarnate threat and Springer's own survival instincts!

Oh and also love the drawing, seeing those little extra legs dangling out of the bottom of the tank is superb. And that's coming from an arachnophobe.

*inhale* They say chains are only as strong as their weakest link, but only a narrow selection of humanity understand that this also applies to character creation. Hours of careful planning undermined by a single change in pronunciation. Genuine oversights forever imprinted in the collectives eye. Tell me Undead, how does it feel to be the catalyst?

Thank you! :D

My pleasure. *takes a bow*

I thought that was intentional? XD

Made a few more minor edits to Marie's and Koodoo's sheet, mostly to add armor inspiration, but also making minor clarifications to Koodoo's personality and Marie's incarnate ability. I probably won't change much anymore since it's all generally in a good place.

Solid stuff Echocoa, I can see how power armour may come off as restrictive but I like the choice you settled on.

If you prefer we can say it's more power-armour-esque IC, but I just couldn't find any references that walked the line between restriction and protection like I wanted.

And it's true that it's hard to find something that feels just right. A lot of the more "masculine" power armor styles appear too bulky for the agility I wanted for Marie, while the more "feminine" ones.. have their own set of problems. This middle ground was about the best I could settle on, even though it doesn't really seem like what you were aiming for, but it can be adjusted to fit more if you'd like >-<

Hey no worries, it's not exactly what I had in mind but I can use my imagination to fill in the gaps and make it more power armour like. And in now that I've seen those refs I can have another look myself to see if I can find anything that might fit what your after more : )
I feel for you though, I ran into the same issue when trying to find general refs for you guys. And although I personally don't mind the bulky style too much I did want to give an agile option for those of you that prefer that kind of playstyle. Most of those are just ladies wearing so little armour that it's just laughable sadly.

Also I'm dropping the first NPC in the character thread, gonna be a pretty important chap in the setting so be sure to give it a read when you get the chance.

Name: Steven Baker
Age: 46
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual
Height: 6ft 1
Weight: 82kg
Physical appearance: Extraordinary fit for his age, Baker is a middle aged white man with somewhat messy salt-and-pepper hair and usually some stubble on his face. Conventionally attractive, he’s got sharp features and green eyes with a glint that tells you this is a dude you don’t wanna cross.

Clothing: Rarely seen outside of his ICE battle armour due to how often he’s needed somewhere around the globe. When not fully geared up he really commits to dressing down, going for shorts, t-shirts and flip flops regardless of the climate. Insists he isn’t an Australian stereotype despite this.

Personality: Driven, eccentric, and confident in his abilities. Idolised by the public and many of his comrades, Steven tries to maintain the facade of a charismatic leader for those around him. Flashing smiles for the news teams and fresh recruits, but weary of it all behind closed doors. Seems to have a poor short term memory, routinely forgetting the names of those he’s just been introduced to.

Steven’s well aware that he’s the best weapon ICE has for driving back Incarnates, and whilst putting them down is his passion he’s constantly placed under the burden of being leagues above everyone else. Scared that if he fails there will be nobody to take his place and feels like despite putting himself on the front line constantly he’s never making any permanent progress against the Incarnates.

Nationality: Australian.
Cause of death: Classified

Armour: See image! Usually goes without the hood. View attachment 1059395
Incarnate ability: Lethality- Upon viewing a living creature Steven receives visions of the most optimal route to kill it. These visions happen in an instant and are constantly updated when relevant factors change. These visions don’t help him act out the steps needed to make them come true, that’s something he’s got to do himself.
Preferred weapons/ combat role: Weapons? Baker is the weapon. As for combat role, he’s ICE’s number 1 operator. Usually reserved for dealing with the greatest Incarnate threats around.

Incarnate name: Morlux
Incarnate physical appearance:
LcAeHYmrJq4HgW4rTr9ibzimq8oFrpNjbUMGELH3VZf6_nNp0I_QZI2T_XWqs3cnfTzjmhY0EVoSQtGxmIuDApoAAJlwfYykkTcW1Y5kobxlvgS4ftCfjIs36WNaxF4YBu12b1y_fjV8_uHfSHc8NGq2s622eCulx8kBqTFzIrC4cnd-lHZh2hneSPC_Zw

Incarnate height: 8ft 2
Incarnate weight: 232 kg.

Incarnate personality: Morlux is an enigma. Rarely seen when not being actively used in combat, this Champion’s nature is a mystery to not just the public, but also most who work at ICE. It can speak, but basically never does, and even then mostly only to Steven.

Incarnate abilities: Classified… but I’ll tell you guys anyway. Morlux’s ability is energy absorption. Any type of energy (heat, nuclear, kinetic) can be absorbed by it’s blade and is then converted into boost for both Morlux and Steven. This essentially means that the more a foe can dish out to them, the more they can rise to the challenge.

Incarnate preferred combat role: Team carry. Morlux will take hits for you then make the enemy wish they had never tried.

Attack: 5
Defense: 5
Speed: 5
Energy: 5
Intelligence: 5
Ah. The resident ace-in-the-hole. Wumsy loves enigmas.

Morlux isn't going to love Wumsy 😆

Definitely won't be used to getting examined by the fresh meat.
So, since these are 5s for stats, that means, for specific categories, specifically intelligence, they aren't superior, but on par with stats of player character incarnates with 5s in different categories? So, their intelligence is roughly around Wumsy's? Etc.

And yeah, Wumsy doesn't require other to like them for them to like others.

Also, going to fill in my armor at some point. But, essentially, it'll be fairly bulky. It'll be designed to carry gear and geared towards defense of self and others. So, maybe extra arms for handling gear, various shields, etc.

Mobility issues are solved with teleportation and positioning thanks to Wumsy. I'll describe it more later. Hopefully I don't forget.

What are your thoughts Gnomar Gnomar ?

Not necessarily. That system was purely put in place for player character building, I just kinda hijacked it to demonstrate how nuts Baker and Morlux are in terms of power. Considering it's not particularly precise it's better to look at each number as a space with some wiggle room anyway. But in this particular case, yes Morlux is probably on par with Wumsy. I may go back and allocate stats up to 10 for NPC characters that bust up the scale at some point.

For example Morlux would probably have a 10 in defence considering it's almost impossible to hurt it.

It would be wild to think of a being with 10 intelligence when I already think of Wumsy as ungodly levels of intelligent. XD

Intelligence is proby the stat we'll be least likely to start climbing above 5. If I want to introduce a mega genius Incarnate they'll probably only reach about a 7 still. Can't have some omnipotent god jumping into my word docs and rewriting the story to make itself the protagonist 😆

I think it's for the best. Question, though. Will our stats ever increase? Though I assume, like this example, intelligence will remain static?

Yes your other stats may increase! But for the sake of the plot I think it is indeed best for intelligence to stay where it is. Maybe if your a 1 you can bump up to 2 or something.

Followup. The energy stat dictates how long they can stay out at a time. Is a five permanent? As in outside of combat and not using abilities that consume energy? Will there be any standardizing on that? Because I assume every player has their own idea for how the various numbers work.

A 5 is indeed permanent, provided you aren't using any abilities or your Incarnate isn't injured.

But you can still go above 5 in energy as that will further decrease the cost of using abilities.

As for standardized stats, that would be very difficult indeed due to the range of abilities on show. How does a teleport compare to an acid spray? Does distance come into play, and if so will I have to make a different cosy for every possible distance? I'd rather not.

I'm hoping you'll all be sensible with your abilities and I'll be sure to give you a friendly nudge if you should be out of energy. As for the time you can have your incarnate out just chill without it doing anything, THAT I can standardize. I'll work on and add it to the character building helper guide inthe character sheet thread.

Very reasonable. The idea for Wumsy is that they can't do much fighting. But they are meant to be around outside of combat, oftentimes away from Dayquan. Wumsy is a highly independent incarnate. And within combat, they are meant to stick around for a long time and teleport frequently. Generally while touching or wrapping around things to teleport them, too. I was thinking, barring any combat or injuries, teleporting would be relatively low cost, since it's highly restrictive at the moment, only able to teleport to either Dayquan or Wumsy. But when some growth happens, target teleportation, or further space related abilities will cost more energy.

Also, I updated character sheet. Added in the description for the armor. Also added in a small specification that Wumsy gains segments as they grow in power. Though I didn't add anything about future abilities or potential in the powers. Figured I'll add that when we get there.

Also added a little extra to Wumsy. Just wanted to clarify that they are curious to a fault.

Hello everybody! I shall have a catch up on everything, hopefully slotting my characters in appropriately.
Shouldn't be hard. We haven't started yet. Or even planned anything. So, you're pretty much at the same place as the rest of us.

Oh, brilliant. I have been out merrily drinking today so my reactions are a bit fried and I didn't read back through previous messages. lol.

So, I hope to become a valuable player in this role-play and shall update myself with everybody's character sheets soon!
