Music Parrot's Phonograph

And if you like their sound, someone put together a really good compilation of their work here! Just hit Play and jam out for awhile with some highly positive tunes, you know? =)

"The Golden Years (The Best Of Casiopea 1979 - 1985)"

Some 1980s Italio-pop from Clio. =)

"Faces" by Clio. I think this one has an addictive "ear-worm" for a chorus. Once heard, it's hard not to remember it. =)

If we're on a city pop kick here's a cool little art pop song from '85

If we are going to kick it with some Japanese city pop from that era, then I just have to play this because I feel there really is no song sung quite like it (and I just love this tune!):

"Mariya Takeuchi - Plastic Love (Official Music Video)"

EDIT: Plus I think is crazy that 35 years after the song comes out, it finally gets a video to it here. Huh!

"竹内まりや (Mariya Takeuchi) - プラスティック・ラブ (Plastic Love) (English Translation) Lyrics"
[Verse 1]
With a sudden kiss and a passionate gaze
Do not cause a malfunction to the love program
Type in encounters and separations well
When the time comes, it ends
Don't hurry!

[Verse 2]
Since the day I was heartbroken
I've been having a life
That's been reversed between day and night
While dancing the nights away at the popular disco
There is a magic I've learned
I'm sorry!

[Chorus]
Never love me seriously
Love is just a game
All I need is to have fun with it
The showy dresses and shoes decorating my closed heart
Are my lonely friends

[Instrumental Interlude]

[Chorus]
The men who flirt with me are
Ironically always similar to him for some reason
My memories with him are overlapped
Don't ask me why even if I drop my glass and suddenly glisten with tears

[Verse 3]
When I fall asleep by the highway at dawn
Only halogen lights are mysteriously shining
Although somebody is whispering that I'm an icy cold woman
Don't worry

[Outro]
I'm just playing games
I know that's plastic love
Dance to the plastic beat
Another morning comes
I'm just playing games
I know that's plastic love
Dance to the plastic beat
Another morning comes
I'm just playing games
I know that's plastic love
Dance to the plastic beat
Another morning comes

Oh! What a lively tune! It's nice! Ah, that is when I noticed the musician behind all of this. How can you go wrong with with the wonderfully-talented Yoko Kanno?

Here! Have a heart, Parrot Parfait Parrot Parfait ! Wait. You already have a heart. And a big one too! Well... have another on your post! See you for now! =)

This is one of my favorite songs by Jack Wall when he was doing the Mass Effect series music. From Mass Effect 2, Suicide Mission. This is my idea of the word "epic" when used in sci-fi. =) (There is also a "hybrid mix" with the London Philharmonic Orchestra here.)

"Suicide Mission" by Jack Wall for the Mass Effect 2 OST.

I remember this song from "The Lost Boys!" I didn't know there was a Marilyn Manson cover for it. Nice!
Manson has done a lot of covers that I adore. Sweet Dreams is probably the most well know, but Down in the Park is also one I really like.
I have the lost boys somewhere on VHS... might be at my parent's house in a closet or something. On that note:
