Other YUGIOH: Just A Chat to Remember

The Silent Z

Just Here
Yo! I’m kinda back and kinda curious how many would be interested in just chatting about Yugioh? (Cards, Decks, Games, Series, Eras, Rps & Etc) Nothing too big just a attempt to chill and talk about a series that’s been on my mind as of late as I unexpectedly begun rewatching the series from GX onward with a little original mixed in these past few weeks. Which has stirred up a lot of decks and ideas, thoughts and etc. plus the plain normal things that might jump into thought in such returns after years away.

So, if any fans remain about the forum and wish to join in and chat about Yu-Gi-Oh feel free to enter into the chat. (Also just as a FYI- I think a brief venture into Zexal was my last series and era I had seen. So if anybody wants to provide what the successor eras and series are like then that could be cool too.)

My brother was the one who got me into yugioh. Cuz I looked up to my big bro and well my family was always comparing me to him “be more like him” and junk. But even if they weren’t I wanted to fallow in his footsteps. So when he left for the military he gave me his entire yugioh card collection from when he was little and he’s 6 years older than me so they are pretty old cards. I had everything from blue eyes white dragon to the 3 Egyptian god cards. Still do tbh. They just probably are not in the best conditions

That’s cool. I can understand that and can recall the old days of when those were the cards to have. I’ve still got a unknown number of cards of different eras myself, tough just to toss the ones I’d give up so still have a fair bit. But yeah, nice with the collection though from your brother!

Yeah that could be a nice move if you decide to sell. I’ve seen some cards from the old eras going for quite the price lately.

My card collection has always been a shared, joint collection between me and my best friend, and it's been with him since we both left our country and are now separated by an ocean, so I haven't had access to my decks for literally years- can you imagine? x.x

In terms of the show, since I switched to subbed when 4K dropped season 4 of GX, I've been having trouble getting through Zexal since it's unlicensed TwT Tried twice already- hopefully third time will be the charm 🤞

Either way, YGO will always be one of the hugest parts of my life for so many reasons- RIP Takahashi-sensei.

Oh really? Wow. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like sharing a card/deck collection like that but that’s still pretty cool. Though still honestly could be pretty tough at the same time.

Oh? I can’t remember where I used to watch zexal tbh. Though I don’t think I was past the first season or too far into it either way. But yeah that would be tough. I’ve been watching full episodes of Original, GX and 5D’s on YT through the official channel for Yugioh (or least that’s the channel name, but seems fairly legit.) Before that, always found it tough finding full episodes and full seasons through the streaming apps that carry them. Hopefully your third attempt will work out for you so you can continue.

Yeah, Yugioh was a big part of my youth and still remains something I’ll have interest. No idea what the current stuff is like or anything past Zexal really. But find enjoyment in the series and checking out the cards and different decks. Oh yeah, Rip Takahashi!

I HAVENT heard of any new ones and certainly haven’t seen any new shows. For the most part it’s still the old stuff. But the cards are new and the rare cards ARE SHINEY AND SPARKLY I have a few SHINEY

Any favorite deck Archtypes/themed and characters out there? Plus a favorite era of Yugioh? (Original, Gx, 5D’s, Zexal & etc)

The one on Netflix. I don’t remember which one it is

And dark types are my favorite.

Favorite card of all time?? Lemme check through my patch to see if i still have it

Oh? I haven’t had my Netflix for awhile so not sure which one that is but cool. Personally I was always a GX guy myself. But have enjoyed others as well just favored GX.

Nice. Mine have varied over the years, during the GX era I liked a fair bit of the themed decks they had during the era. Now days I would need to think it over and see what I’d like best.

Chumly was a favorite character along with Alexis.

Card wise, also tough for me and varies between eras.

El shaddol construct

Because she’s pretty
Oh nice! I’ve heard and been seeing Shaddol decks and cards around.

Was Arc-V where they introduced that Pendulum summoning and was it any good (The show itself) ? I recall seeing the first episode once a few years back, but….. I think I had a hard time getting into it for whatever reason. Anything after that series I doubt I’d know the order and/or names of the shows and what they are like. Especially since that’s all I know of Arc-V is maybe just that much and maybe that’s still not quite right. I think Arc-V followed Zexal though I could be off on order of the series after Zexal though.

No clue I never paid attention and I watched them all out of order. Just what ever was available to me I would watch because I didn’t have many options growing up and still kinda dont

Ya… it’s kinda a bummer too cuz like. We had moderately good money but my mom disapproved of any and all anime and I had to fight for my right to watch tv that wasn’t nick jr or something stupid… I was forced to watch nick jr until I was 13 because my mom dissaproved of me watching tv to begin with. I was graduating middle school and was still forced to watch it…

It was my step dad who convinced her to let me watch other things. To this day my moms still trying to drive me away from watching things.

I rememeber this one time I was watching YouTube and she called my dad and tried to get me to quit YouTube for ever. I wasn’t even making videos I just watched them. I flat out told her and my dad no and my mom called me a bitch. So ya…

The only reason I can’t watch things now is cuz we don’t have the money (me and my dad) cuz I moved away from my mom

Oh wow that’s tough.

Original, GX and 5Ds for sure. Gotta catch up on the rest.
Battle City with original Yugioh was pretty good and imo the best part of original era. Mai was a great character imo too. Loved GX. I still need to finish 5D’s though. Never really saw it during its run and have worked up til episode 14 so far during my YT series watching now days. Zexal too while starting the rest after that run.

I used to collect the physical cards back in elementary when it's still affordable, though I forgot about it and left my collection when I moved my house. Hopefully whoever found it make good use of it. I also used to play in Dueling Network but then took a long hiatus from Yugioh. It stings when I found out the site was no more. Lost a lot of my deck setup there. Never dabble too deep into the anime as I only watched up to those Orichalchos thing but I absolutely love Pegasus.

I usually play non-meta deck just because I hate taking too much time for my turn and I'm not big brained enough to remember all those combos. Even during my DN era (the last time I play there Wind up, Inzektor and Six Samurai were the meta), my decks of choice were either Relinquished, gemini or Evilswarm with a few oddballs in between. I always laughed when my opponent just scooped after I summoned Ophion lol. Also my most memorable duel was during this time between my gemini deck against a Quasar Dragon deck with fabled engine. Good times. I did try ygopro a few months ago but the amount of new cards was overwhelming and I kept getting bodied by 10-minutes turn decks with bajjilion summons that also do another dozens summons in my turn. I do have some new favorite decks like Danger Darkworld, Traptrix and Trains. Didn't use any pendulum and Traptrix Sera is the only link that I consistently summon 🤣. Kinda makes me feel old.

Behold the three Egyptian god cards. I was told they are hard to get your hands on unless you pay a pretty penny. Which I did pay a pretty good sum for theseimage.jpg

Nice! I always favored the non meta and themed decks. Just enjoyed them more and since they were less common and unique in their own ways, just added to it all for me.

Nice. I remember when I was a younger I liked Slifer the best but as I got older I became more of a Ra fan more so. I got a copy of those too within one my old tins.

Edit: Watched the first episode of Arc-V just to see what it is and why I had a hard time getting into it the first time I saw the first episode… Starting to see why again. Given me some ideas but still hopefully it gets better going forward.
