Cicero has lived his life at the mercy of others and since strives for any self-control he can get.That's part of the reason why he took to teaching so well: so he could position himself in such a way that he doesn't have take orders anymore.

Yeah, I imagine Vaimi's mother eventually decided that it would be a more valuable use of her time cutting the head off the snake than endlessly blowing up Kyserias' soldiers. Perhaps she planned to ambush him somewhere with her intimate knowledge of the land, but Cicero detected this and stopped her right before she could because of his skills/race/experience/etc. They had a grand old fight where it basically boiled down to her being the unstoppable force to cicero's immovable object. Eventually he decided he had no choice but to use the Corrosion magic, damaging her mind and being partly responsible for all that happened after?

That sounds pretty reasonable, assuming Kyserias decided to come to their lands himself. And the way I would say it she was already heavily straining things before engaging Cicero, but the resulting fight and the Corrosion magic would be the very heavy straw that sends her past the tipping point.

I also went ahead and made those changes in the backstory based on what you said, and started adding tidbits about the Ior'lyr clan and Holalana, which I'll continue adding to as I think more about those parts of Vaimi's past. But man there's way too much writing on that CS already and I should probably stop.

Both characters are accepted. And to think you were worried Echo… I love the thought you put into Vaimi. It was a pleasure to read and I’m happy we get to have you for one of your first rps on RP Nation.

I didn't get to react to this earlier but thank yooooooooooou! The warm-and-fuzzies are a rare treat, and I'm glad to be a part of this and look forward to rping with you all. I hope that I can play a character as well as I can think overmuch about them so that I don't mess this up >-<

Just to keep the info fresh here are some prospective changes on our recent addition if you already gave a read:

Just lore stuff, the actual character is good!

15,000 Andradi guardsmen—> 500 Andradi guardsmen

Adjudicator went from advisors and Praetorian—> To Praetorian and religious representatives, moreso focused on maintaining the assumed heir’s image in the church of sol.

Scaleless When I finish hammering it out, I intend to DM you the additional details pertaining to Jasha's backstory.

Made a few changes to the CS
-Height changed to 5'8" from 5'7"
-Added to Circus Monkey that he's good with sleight of hand.
-His red full-body tattoo now provides the benefits of a Ring of Sustenance in addition to the Endure Elements spell.
-Made some minor changes to the backstory
-Added a heading with his gear

Tomorrow will be spent trying to plot out possible relationships for characters that don’t have many yet. As well as the last day for cs for those who have not asked for an extension. I will decide on a starting date then.

I’m looking to start almost immediately after however, on the 11th or 12th to give me a bit of time to make a decent intro. Dw if you don’t finish by then Ayama, I doubt things will take off super quickly and I don’t wanna wait too long to kick things off.

And what these abyss walkers do within the abyss? Also how do they look like? As the resident abyssal shut-in I need to know the abyss' regular guests so I can make proper impression about them.

Kind of random, but I find that myprogresspics.com is a great tool for when I'm making my characters. You can select by gender, height and weight and it will give you 100s if not 1000s of images of real people who have submitted pictures of themselves to the website.

Cicero (my character) was the royal advisor to Kyserias and also Prince Carolus' ( D. Rex ) mentor. Beyond that, he has spent many many years serving lords, kings and barons across the decades.

Perhaps Lorelei would have come across him on their travels?

While Cicero might not know of Lorelei personally, he will be acutely aware of what the church is and how it operates: he's been around for a while and it's been his job to be aware of politics/information and the like.

This is doubly so for the church if they have any interest in Prince Carolus, as Cicero is rather protective of him almost as a surrogate father (from his perspective at least). If lorelei has been personally assigned to Carolus, then Cicero probably does indeed know of her.
