Other Tell us about your pet peeves!

fr. that shit is annoying and it drives me insane. i actually yell at my older brother for that, he does it all the time. it sometimes gets to the point where i have to slap him to stop(i got in trouble for it).
You probably have misophonia
You may be abnormally aggravated because it's triggering a fight or flight response

Anytime I go out with friends, I always bring ear plugs in case we end up somewhere that’s loud and crowded…I usually can’t stand crowds and the noise levels that come with them, I just get anxious and that in itself is such a bother for me…but those ear plugs are a game changer! Helps to bring down the sensory overload for this introvert.

im gonna research it and see if thats the case!

Daisie Daisie back, just confirmed that i do have misophonia. just realized that loud typing triggers me as well as lip smacking and plastic wrappers being opened loudly.

My job requires me to get in contact with customers about their orders per their instructions via the email. Sooo.....how about when I call them, leave messages, texts, and they still don't answer until hours later trying to get angry. You know when your appointment is. You have round the clock updates about the appointment. ANSWER YOUR PHONE.

as someone who used to work at the front desk…The struggles are real! 😂

When customers approach my window demanding my undivided attention, but can't be bothered to return the favour by either asking the person they're on a call with to either hang on, or call them back in 10 minutes. Rude.

That’s the most obnoxious thing to hear I’m sorry you have to deal with that.

Sounds like people just don't have any common sense🤷

Years ago, I got hired by some scam artists in the construction department, now thanks to my graphic art, now they look more legit! Tough lessoned learned, I was just trying to get out of a bad situation from a previous job, so young and dumb, I rushed in! Now I have a contract!

I went to the grocery store today I looked at the organic Granny Smith apples the skin was turning white. Why would your produce go bad and keep it?

People should really learn to mind their own business when it comes to other people. If it has nothing to do with you, mind your own business. Worry about you. You. So many people have opinions about people's weight, how people parent their children, genuinely getting involved in someone else's life it's ridiculous. Seriously, mind your own business. Stop using social media to attack people.

Tbh, a little similar to the previous person's pet peeve, but whatever.
People being needlessly rude to others over insignificant things. I can't stomach touching most social media now because of how normalized it is to encourage others to harm themselves. It's tiring and the one thing that I absolutely can't stand, lol. I miss when everyone was nicer to each other.

My biggest offline pet peeve is litterers. I see somebody throw their trash on the floor and I chew them tf out for it, I hate them with a PASSION :///

Especially if they throw their trash on the ground when there's a trash can less than 10 feet away!

This. So much. Not just online, but in real lfe. If you don't like someone's hair, their clothing, their fat, their muscles, keep it to yourself.

Mark Twain said:
“What other people think and say about you is none of your business. The most destructive thing you would ever do is to believe someone else's opinion of you. You have to stop letting other people's opinions control you.”

I say, at the end of the day, the only one who has to look in the mirror and like what they see there is you. That doesn't apply to how you look, but how you act.

-Lip smacking, slurping, and spitting sounds

-People talking to me while I'm trying to read

Funny story: I was in speech class and the assignment was to do an impromptu speech about whatever we wanted. Well, someone tried holding a conversation with me while I was reading prior to me giving my speech, so when it was my turn I went into a rant about how much I hated that. I got an A.

-People trying too hard to be friendly and keep getting into my space

I've dealt with this most of my life. I tend to keep to myself and I'm quite content with my own company. I'm not lonely. I'm not sad, I'm thinking or daydreaming, and you're interrupting it. I dislike small talk. I'm not playing shy or "tough to get." When I say no to your invitations, or gifts, or aid, I mean NO. When you get angry at me for refusing them, that tells me you're not sincere, that this is more about your ego than actually caring about me, and that gives me less reason to trust you. If you want to be my friend, firstly listen to me and respect my space!

-People telling me they don't need my help when I ask, then get mad and complain when I don't help out.

I hate it when I say I don't need help and people insist on getting into my business anyway. If I ask you if you need assistance and you say no, then I'm going to respect that and leave you be. If you actually wanted my help, you should've said yes. Don't get mad at me.

-Rambling

I have a supervisor who rambles and treats employees as though they're preschoolers who need every little detail of a job spilled out for them. Don't ramble on for 5 minutes about the work you need me to do when you could've explained the job in three sentences. I have a one track mind and a short attention span; keep it short and sweet! I don't need to know the whole life story of the circuit board I'm repairing. Tell monkey what needs to be fixed, how you want monkey to fix it, and where monkey needs to take it when fixing is done.
