Eh, considering AC20 in BAB terms is AC0 in THAC0 terms, I won't look a gift buff in the mouth lol

I'm going to change some of my words and gifts.

I'm feeling way out of my league here, so I'll drop. Thanks for everything.

I think my character is done, I just need some help translating AC/Saves and pick a picture.
Sad to that Yuel, hope you have fun RPing in another game <3

id love to have it more beautiful looking but fr4om what i understand its the limits of this forum, which i am required to use right now. did you find my spreadsheet with the words? i would like that used instead of the books because modificatiolns + homebrew
you come up with the relationship fact? if not, most put family and overlook the fact that it can be a guild or other organization

Hi! So does your Godbound world still have the post-apocalyptic sort-of-sci-fi fantasy feel of the original? I'm not very familiar with Godbound, but that's the vibe I got when people described failing god machines empowering people. Or is your game pure fantasy? If so, are there still ancient works of divine magic spilling power all over the place to make Godbound?

Stats: 10; 14; 17; 12; 17; 11

Also, this doesn't cost a Word, and it gives you all of this? This seems insanely strong. Are Fae still ancient transhumans waking up from stasis or something? What are Faeries in your setting?
Microcosms are racial or boosts like you would get from words without gaining words. If used, they take the place of your origin fact.

Faerie Queen - +4 to any mental stat or will save. You gain one lesser gift from Deception, Mind, Illusion, Memory, or Chaos as well as 3 additional effort.

--> Just Fantasy

2. If so, are there still ancient works of divine magic spilling power all over the place to make Godbound?

--> Maybe

3. Also, this doesn't cost a Word, and it gives you all of this?

--> what are you referring to?

I was referring to the Microcosms section, specifically the entry for Faerie Queen. If I understand the rules correctly, you can spend your Origin Fact to get +4 to Int, Wis, or Cha, plus a free Gift and 3 extra Effort? That's really strong, isn't it?

Should I plan my character not knowing what made them Godbound? Did it happen because they went to a certain place, or did something in particular? I'm not familiar enough with the base game to know how someone becomes Godbound, so you let me know how it works in your setting.

usual mo is for players not to know but u can specify an object u want. for example, a former potential player Yuel specified she found a sword containinmg the powers of a deceased godbound. I think she, the posesser of the sword was imbued with these powers. I like to think a remnant of the departed Azyrinth aka priomordials aka gods is choosing who is worthy, but the method is yours to choose.

  • Name: Caesura

Origin: Faerie Queen - Everyone knew about the ring of menhirs at the centre of the grove. Everyone knew not to go there. Except Caesura. The harvest was bad for the third year. She went to plead with whatever lived down there. Now 'not knowing' is an alien concept to her, as far remote as she is from her former friends. When some ancient fragment of divinity chose to unfold the secrets of the universe before her like a blossoming lotus of impossible beauty and complexity, it transformed her utterly and irrevocably. It filled her with the knowledge of how to create all things living and unliving, and a burning desire to build a better world, to complete a work left unfinished eons ago.

Superficially, of course, she was different. Her tangled brown hair became a riot of colourful blossoms and petals, her unremarkable brown eyes scintillating jewels that promised to reveal a fragment of that infinite complexity if only the viewer would stare just a little deeper, her pale thin lips ripe with the promise of a kiss as sweet as the first harvest apple and just as red. These superficial changes did not truly separate her from what she once was. It was the knowing. Knowing what everyone would say, could say, was capable of saying if they applied themselves for years, from the moment they stepped into the room. Knowing they could never comprehend the beauty she could behold, could bring forth. Could never truly appreciate it. Often quivered in fear at the sight of it. It hardly mattered, though. They're almost all dead now, cut down and reduced to ashes by the same monstrosities who destroy everything she builds.

Profession: Tender of the Sacred Grove - The rites and rituals of the harvest. Honouring the spirits of soil and tree and vine. The propitiation of the forest spirits and the honoured ancestors interred beneath them. The efficacious power of herbs, their harvest and preparation. She thought she knew these things. She had but taken the first timid step on a path she has now walked leagues upon. From the great heights she has reached she can barely see the spot where she had made her humble beginnings. She can't decide whether to laugh or cry. She does both.

Relationship: Guardian of the Last Campfire at the End of the World - She builds it. They tear it down. Where once there was a teeming settlement, now only ash. And yet life is tenacious. Something always survives, staggering out of the dark to her little beacon of hope in still smoking fields of ash. Her forlorn campfire at the end of the world. Some of them she pulled back through the black gates before their souls could move on, some were canny enough to escape, some were simply too stubborn to die, some were just lucky. They're all survivors. Each time a few more choose to follow her, and they set off with the next dawn to a new site to build it all anew. Each time a little bit faster. A little bit better. Hoping this time will be the last.

Goal: To build a city that shines bright, defies the darkness, and does not fall.

which words?

"Now 'not knowing' is an alien concept to her"
--> Would suggest one word is knowledge

Where is this grove?

the red areas are the largest human population regions

Yeah Fae Queen do be kinda wild; from what I've seen, whenever a Fact has explicit mechanical benefits outside of their normal function, it's generally supposed to be less than or (at absolute most) about equal to 1 gift point worth, and when it's all tallied up Fae Queen comes with at least 4 points worth of benefits plus a massive attribute boost.

Also my question about Lesser Strifes was never answered, because if I can use my relationship fact to get one I already know what my Fact would be.

Oops, I labelled my words tab domains by accident. I thought about knowledge, but the powers weren't super exciting - they're mostly about asking the GM to tell you the best way to do things, and I prefer powers that let you do interesting things rather than powers that try to prevent you from making fun mistakes.

I'm still a bit torn about whether to take Death over Desire. Desire is very fae-appropriate but I'm not sure I really want those powers. Life and death together make for a great natural cycle theme.

Well, I know nothing about these locations, but the Ruins of Ptolomei sounds fun!

If you'd like I can refrain from choosing it - I wasn't sure if caecgirl was going for an even higher powered campaign than usual, and they did make the microcosms available to everyone. Several of them do seem like very powerful mechanical options.

Can you explain what a Strife is? I haven't seen that bit in the book yet.

I personally am fine with it, since our party roles have no real overlap. I would, however, advise that you ask Tachyon as well, since both of your characters seem relatively oriented towards social play, and you may run the risk of making their player feel outdone in their own realm of expertise.

It might not be in your version of the book, I have the deluxe edition. It's basically Godbound's version of Weeaboo Fightan Magic.

That's a good point. I could drop social entirely and focus only on building cities and wonders. Artifice, Death, Flora, Protection? Protection, Death, and Flora will let me help keep you alive, since you're the only one of us doing the fighting 😄.

I can make huge greenhouses with crops harvested 24/7/365 by giant terrifying zombie-plant-machines. A necro-industrial revolution with flowers. I can leave social stuff to Tachyon.
