Fandom Hogwarts x Pokemon | Interest Check

I wouldn't mind branching out if we end up reaching the time skip in this roleplay- my character might fit into any other plotlines that occur, but they'll probably be better off at Hogwarts at the moment.

That said, would you guys rather have Teacher Akane or a blank slate first year who only has Magikarp? I've already got most of the basics down for Akane, I'll be able to play out their character better and I'll probably end up being the only PC staff if Nubian still wants staff to be central to the plot. However, a first-year with Magikarp time skipping into a badass magic potent fifth-year with Gyarados would be a really cool glowup. I'll also have more time to figure out a decent team that match their soul but won't be crushed before they get to shine.

Also Archdemon , are you planning on having a wooloo or tauros at some point? I was wondering about adding them to my team but I feel like they'd fit the cowboy motif you're going for a lot better.

I think I'd like to see your teacher character. The magikarp is a cool concept and definitely what I was going for here. Going forward, I think I'll make you co-admin on this one if that's something you're interested in.

I don't know if I should be a co-admin since I'll be moving to college in a few days, so I'm not sure how often I'll be around to help out in general for the next few months.

The teacher's just Whitney with a few adjustments to fit the setting better. Kind of meant for her to be more of a side character in case I respond late later on, though she did end up being the only staff character. Her wand, biography and team are subject to change, at least until everyone else gets ready to start.

PERSONALITY

• Harbors an extreme love for cute things. If you have an eevee or a togepi you’ll automatically become her favorite student.
• Generally a chill and open-minded person. Yet she is passionate and fickle, switching from nauseatingly cheerful to lazily nonchalant to childishly brooding. The only emotion that seems suppressed is her anger, which is odd considering how temperamental she was back in her school days.
• Avidly listens to the radio, a habit that’s helped her keep up with the times.
• Likes Quidditch, but softball remains her favored sport.
• Sort of gimmicky when battling, relying on setting up attacks behind all types of defenses and luck. She’s not great in competitive scenes but she would be able to hold out on her own.
• She only prefers to be called Akane when she’s around family and close friends, since Whitney’s the name that everyone associates her with in the west.

BIOGRAPHY (A brief history of that character and why they're at Hogwarts)

• Grew up in Osaka as a normal girl until her parents moved her to her uncle Milton's ranch in the British Aisles, where she got an early start in learning magic before being invited to Hogwarts.
• She was chosen to be a gym Leader in her fourth year, in hopes that her expertise shown during battling would help first years. Though she did maintain the status quo for a couple of semesters, her childish demeanor and heavy reliance on luck-based attacks kept her from fulfilling her role to the fullest. As soon as trainers realized her gimmick, she was defeated left and right, blows to her self-esteem hitting harder as they prepared rocky counters and sidestepped her attacks. She had to improve to keep her status and was able to hold on to the title throughout her next and final year, right when the effects of the Second Wizarding War reached Hogwarts.
• The Second Wizarding War was a humbling experience for her. It was the time where she learned her mother was a squib, and the time she was saved from the Death-Eaters advance on muggle-borns.
• After the war she travelled the world to grow more powerful so she can protect what she claimed hers, but also to learn so she could help others know the difference between right and wrong.
• This year will be the first time she teaches at Hogwarts. She had no intention of teaching there to begin with, but the girl from the Joy family who was originally offered the job declined so Whitney was invited instead. Kind of like an understudy. Still, it's a sign that she's making progress in her growth.

GOALS (what motivates your character? what do they want to achieve? list at least 3 goals for your character)

• Protecting her students and whoever else deserves her protection.
• Caring for Magical Creatures seemed like a nice class for her to teach at some point. Maybe she'd try her hand as a Quidditch coach. Even the defense of the dark arts classes were looking exciting, she would've aced the O.W.L for it if she didn't pull an all nighter studying for Transfiguration. Potions was an ok class, but she'll take any chances to teach these subjects full-time if they come.
• Generally, she wants to enjoy the time she has at Hogwarts for now. Now that the death eaters are far and few in between, they have all the time in the world to train, get better and have fun. Of course, if there were any signs of another war coming or any resurgence in their cultists behavior, she'd gladly take a bigger part in disintegrating these stupid death eaters once and for all.

Yes. I'll allow people to have teams, but there's always the question of how they were able to have a team, because in the game you have starters. You don't have to have any of the starters mind you, Cassius's starter was a Houndour so I'll let people choose any pre-volved poke as their starter. (up to 2 pokemon at the start)

Zeke is a fairly laid back individual, preferring to use just a few words to discuss or describe something where other professors like to use a bunch of words. His favorite answer to questions like "Why does this work this way?" or "How does this work this way?" is "Because someone a really long time ago did it this way and everyone accepted it was the best way to do it."

Zeke, like so many others before him, came and passed through Hogwarts with the dream of being the best trainer there ever had been. To leave his mark on the world. He was your average student with average grades, and didn't really stick out. He was, and even admits to being, a face in a sea of faces. And there's nothing wrong with that. He toured a few of the regions (Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, and Kalos), collecting badges and enjoying the adventure he and his pokemon pals had set on. To this day he even claims that he got caught in a Celebi's time traveling mist, though many don't believe the tale. Something happened during those years of traveling and training, something that to this day Zeke still can't put his finger on. He woke up one day and asked himself what was he really doing with his life? The traveling, the training, it was fun, but surely there was more to life than just those two things, right? He couldn't bring himself to do it anymore, and for a time was lost on what exactly it was he should be doing. What came next, after the journey had been had and the adventure came to an end? he eventually came to the conclusion that the best use of his time would be to help train and prepare the next and future generations of pokemon trainers, and so he set out to become a teacher, a profession he still holds to this day, nearly 12 years later.
