Help In over my head

Okay so I am 1000000% new to BBCode, literally have no clue how to work it. I've tried reading some of the tutorials offered here and such but am struggling.

My main question is after picking a code that someone else has posted for others, how do I edit it to say what I want in place of all the other stuff? For example if it says Personality how would I write the personality in the code? I see a bunch of stuff like [/comment] but no place to write stuff, am I just stupid or what?
I would just like to have all that fancy looking stuff most people seem to have and understand

Okay that probably made 0 sense and nobody can probably help me with such a vague confusing question but I shall just keep researching I suppose. Everyone starts somewhere, but me just at absolute dumbness

different coders might use different ways to demarcate areas you're supposed to edit; i usually mark out my codes with ----* * * text starts here or ----* * * name here or something to that effect, where you should put any relevant text after the [/comment]

for example:
[border=transparent; /*i took this border from one of my codes, ignore everything in it!*/ height:auto; width:50%; padding:0 4px 0 12px; box-sizing:border-box; color: var(--t-color); font-size:11.5px; text-align:justify; line-height:16px; font-family: var(--body);][comment] ----* * * text starts here---- [/comment]your text goes here [/border]
