Other Obscure fandoms you'd like to RP

Oh, my... the Homeworld series, definitely! I'm super enamoured with all of the games and the in-universe history, but I'm not very sure how to translate (if I am even able to) a 3D space RTS into a role-play in the first place. Still, it is very much a dream of mine if I get the time and opportunity...

"One hundred years ago, a satellite detected an object under the sands of the Great Desert."

There's this niche swordpunk rpg game called Kenshi that i've been obsessed with all year. General premise is that it takes place in the middle of this post industrial apocalypse where most technology has regressed back to the dark ages, aside from what few robots are still functioning and cybernetic limbs. (Dismemberment is a gameplay mechanic lmao). Most of the map is a desert and everything is trying to kill you. Occasionally you'll run into a faction who call themselves "The Skin Bandits." Have fun.

Anyway, the lore and worldbuilding are pretty much perfect for roleplay and I'm surprised that people haven't capitalized off of that yet. If you play Kenshi, HMU.

"Karrak is burning..."

Honestly I agree. I tried to run an RP with a similar idea, basically a human colony isolated for centuries from Earth builds and empire and tries to reconnect with their home but it unfortunately failed.

The nerd in me really fell in love with SyFy's The Magicians but I never met anyone who wanted to RP within that universe or even liked the show enough to know anything about it (granted, there's an entire book series I haven't read yet but either way, I haven't met a lot of people who know about anything)

I'm always surprised I've never seen anyone trying to play around with either of the settings; the magic school or a more Fillory-focused type one! It's such a good series, the books are pretty good too tbh, if you ever did want to do that I'm down to try!

Oh, oh! Fighting games! Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur, and/or Street Fighter, but with more character development. I’ve always love the aesthetic designs and I feel like there’s so much potential in the lore.

Also, in a similar vein, maybe GLOW and pro wrestling. I think it would be a super interesting to see the duality of the persona on the ring and the actual person outside it. I grew up watching WWE so I’ve always wanted to try this, but less action-y, and more slice of life-y.

I’ve always wanted to run a Jjba rp that features a group of players traveling across the world as “paranormal investigators” that secretly just deal with stands when they pop up.

The Beginning after the End, YOI, Animal Jam, Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji

While I am familiar YOI and Black Butler have large communities on the roleplay side of things, most people involved are young and don't match my roleplay literacy. I'd much prefer roleplaying with someone my age who also has the same amount of roleplay experience as myself.

Bastard!! would have to be toned down by a lot with all those innuendos, to comply with RpN site rules 😅

Yea, more mature themes I like to explore I definitely take off site. (And no, I'm not talking sexual themes. Mostly extremely violent and/or bigoted characters who do not act in a PG-13 manner.)

The batman
Enough said
Can be matt version or even the cartoon versions

magic: the gathering is one of the most popular tcgs you can find, sure, but i can never quite find many people into the lore. there's a lot of it, but it's got such a diverse array of settings and tones and ideas that it's one of those fantasy worlds i'm shocked more people don't write or roleplay about. i think i'd love to try out a proper mtg roleplay some day tbh.

like c'mon, there's even a cyberpunk plane now, you can do anything with this lore

Digimon would be my current obsession. I know some might not think it's obscure, but I think out of the two "monster"-related franchises with "mon" attached to their name, Digimon is easily the least popular and often underappreciated IMO. I honestly love it and am always up for any kind of idea in which I get to play a tamer with partner Digimon.
