"Lawless, dangerous, poverish... Instead of these thingssss, I think we sssshall call it home."

Jadgs, to most in Ivalice, these places free of the judges' law and magic are seen as uncivilized and dangerous places to be avoided at all cost. But even here, some people make it their home. After the palace began their clan crackdown, many had no choice.

One night in particular, known throughout Ivalice as the Night of Rent Steel, followed after a turf war clash, where both clans were arrested for flagrant charges so that the judges could inspect them for missing criminals. A fight between the judges and clans broke out, and during it, an explosion destroyed the prison wall. Dozens within escaped, and the judges turned violent.

With no where to go, many ended up in the Jadgs. A turf war began anew in the jadg, many of the refugees already caught in it, but from the refugees, a Bangaa named Gallahan began to lead many of the refugees, forming Clan Scorpio. Driving out the other clans, he claimed Jadg Dorsi as his own, and promised safety and a place for everyone willing to work.

Clan Scorpio tends to protect the town nearby, driving out monsters, hunting down dangerous individuals, and driving out palace forces whenever they try to infer. Despite that, they are not above robbing passing caravans to survive, though they do try to keep violence to a minimum.

Gallahan doesn't care about a person's past, and is very quick to judge whether or not he trusts a person at a glance.
-------------------------------------

Welcome to a FFTA RP! The RP centers around an outlaw group in the jagd's. The events of the game are mostly ignored, but the setting is still the same {AU}. So, no Marche, Ritz, etc, but there is a palace cracking down on the world, and several clans warring for dominance against eachother causing drama. Side note, Gallahan's Clan Leader, but tends to stay in base {I.e. no, I'm not lording him everywhere.}

Each race generally see their Totema as their deity, and not uncommon for them to curse with it, such as a moogle screaming "Famfrit!" if something breaks.

Most people just get a job's kit. You ARE a X. If your a dragoon, you can jump and breath fire, etc. For mages, stronger spells, such as Firaga, are more impressive, but take more time and are exhausting to use. Stick to one job, at least at the start. Exception to this are Ultima skills, those are plot important, so no one gets them.

Feel free to use FFTA2 races or jobs:

Rules:
1) Standard Rules apply, no godmoding, powerplaying, etc.
2) No drama. Gan's not really bothered by kicking people these days.
3) Burning House Rule - If there's a week without a post from someone, we'll skip them. If that person continues not to show up with no reason, such a tragedy that their character died in a burning house fire. Of course, RL happens, just let us know.
4) Discord OOC
5) Advanced RP, I expect 2+ paragraphs per post unless really nothing is going on with your character... in which case, we really should get something for your character to do.
6) Rotation is expected at once a week {I'll divvy people up in teams, everyone should have a chance to post once a week.}

So what you are saying is If I am a Blue Mage, I am everything all at once? MUAHHHAHAHAHAA

*Runs away*

*eyes flash*, Tactics Advance?! I adored this game growing up and even now love it to pieces. My only qualm is being quest-locked by mission failures from underleveled job handlers.

If this takes off with more people, count me in, even though I am busy and may end up in a dumpster fire somewhere along the way. I have been listening to both the FFTA and A2 soundtracks with much joy as of late, and would love to participate in the world of Ivalice anew.

Btw, flavor for blue mage, partial morph, or summoning a monster part for their magic?

Let's go, Germinas Boots! Leap as high as a dragoon! Leap two units higher . . . as a dragoon!

Also, I fear for the blue mage if he has to change himself to deliver a Bad Breath attack.

Well since I brought it up even as a joke... hmm... I guess it depends a lot how you want to derive their magic working. I mean as far as I know (granted it could just be limitation needing to make assets for it) they more just imitate the abilities of monsters. I don't think by that end they would transform.

That said it might not necessarily also summon a monster part either to do it. You do something like bad breath I think just mimicing it using your mouth would work. Something that might be beyond what a blue mage can mimic for magic though I could see maybe summoning more so an 'illusion' of such a feature of which the magic is delivered upon (aka your whole summon monster part bit) though I'd imagine it to be very much limited to the part vital for the 'magic' to work. For example you have something like tail sting, sure it involves a creature using its tail and striking usually with a spiked tip to strike, but as a spell you would really only be needing the stinger portion to be used to attack with it.

AH! Idea! What if both work? I mean the blue school of magic is an odd one to start so its probably not the most prestigious, but I could see there being two different camps. The typical Blue Mage where its about using monster abilities, as such they adapt them into spells that recreate the effects more directly. Perhaps employing some light elements of illusion magic so you do have cases of spells that might partially appear to summon a monster part for the spells, though otherwise it is simply adapted taking the human (well any other humanoid race in that matter) to deploy their abilities.

The other school could be a more 'dark' use of the magic where it involves partial transformation. Having it associated more with the bads or reclusive blue mages where it perhaps is shunned by the others (who I'd say already are not really trusted very much as is). The idea being the transformations being potentially overall stronger though at the same time having a negative detriment on the user in part 'corrupting' them mentally over time (or at least the fear of it being a big issue). Heck, I could see it as a cause to the creation of some rather strange creatures being previous blue mages practicing said school that lost their humanity and turned into some scary abominations of their own.

Welcome aboard! I'd like 5 players to start, so, assuming Hana is in and not tormenting me, means one to two more!
Maybe a bit of A, maybe a bit of B. I mean right now I'm still on the busy side but its easing up a bit so who knows maybe. *shrug*

I love both ideas, myself. The first is light and airy, and the second is dark and scarring. It would be good character development for a character to embrace both sides of the presitgious class of blue mage, and maybe in balance it is much more profitable and with no corruption. Abominations, though . . . those would be scary to fight.

I should probably start with character sheets.

If things are slow for people to trickle into this excellent interest check, I can fill up to two character slots. Any more and it may be a struggle.

Also interested.

Quina Quen! Hello!

Will classes race locked like in game?
It's the normal, but won't lock player characters into it if someone really wants to play a class. You won't too much find many Red Mages who aren't Viera for instance. But a player wants to do so on like a Bangaa, long as it's a cool character with a 'why', I'm not going to say no.

Also not gender locked. Male Viera and female bangaa, however people like.

Nice, gotcha. I’ll probably still need to do a ton of digging through the wiki though lol. Most I’ve done in the Ivalice setting is what you see in xiv.

Funnily enough... That's where male Viera first appeared actually.

Honestly, should be fine. Main things from the game:

* Clans are group of adventurers who are hired to do quests. They tend to have turf wars with eachother all the time over who has most influence over a point.

* Judges supervise fights, make both sides immortal. Cannot appear in the Jagds, so we don't get that immortality, so moot point. In game, laws are things you can't do, I'm scrapping that, and having it as they're pretty much the 'yes men' and the guards, more in line with FFXII to be honest.

* Palace is in charge of everything, and as normal, are a bunch of pricks. They tend to crack down a lot, and are the absolute rule.

* Most locations I'll be stealing from game, but, meh.

* Pick a job you like... and I'll build out the world basically. Framework is, using FFTA setting, wanted to see if I had interest before I really starting putting things out. Kind of an outlaw themed game with Job system and place names. Everyone will be wanted, one of the character sheet requirements will be that. Doesn't mean we're evil, but did something to piss off the palace individually.

Lore wise, each city is full of one race.

* Cyril - human town. Not a whole lot to it, has the monster bank for where people play pokemon. {Keep captured monsters}
* Sprohm - Bangaa town - mountainous, has the prison.
* Cadoan - Nu Mou Town - desert city, has a magic academy, and where 'screw the judge' items are sold... not sure what to do with one of the points there, as they are linked to a character called Ezel, but I don't want to use any characters from canon.
* Muscadat - Viera Town, hidden deep in the woods. Not much really here, other than in game where everyone does get arrested, but no benefits to the town.
* Baguba Port - Moogle town, airship hub with the merchants guild, lots of gear stuff here.

Starting to realize how barebones things are, but... meh, that just means I get to fill in the blank. You know... I started off answering kage, but then just kinda went off on a rant.

It is where they first appeared!

Hmm a firaga based mishap is prob a decent way to piss off the palace.

And I mean you do have a hell of a knack for world building, so a fairly blank template isn’t that bad of a thing lol

After looking through the possibilities on the link and reading through all of this, I am liking the idea of a male or female viera who is a green mage. What did I do wrong? I may have augmented a few people with Tranq and upped chances of Death, ticking off high-profile enemies. And of course there are the charges of money laundering. And potentially using Oil to cause a certain Firaga-based mishap, *nudges KageYuuki KageYuuki about the possibility*. And that one time I reportedly bonked someone related to a guardsman on the sly with my hammer because I was mad. Jerk judges called that a foul. There was also the general banditry charges.

There are lots of cool possibilities here, and I am excited to get started on the character sheet. I'm looking forward to RP'ing with you all.

Sorry for the delay, here's a character sheet, and example, though don't know if I'll run the lil bastard.

~Moglie ~
Moogle Gunner
How much you want to bet, kupo?
1642400307201.png
Notable Crime: "I bet my friend 2,000 guild I could hit the apple off her head from the clock-tower. Boom, one shot, done. The problem maaaay have been the shopkeeper standing behind her. And Moganna still hasn't paid me the gil!"

Clan Role: Scout

Personality: A moogle of incredible drive... and a crippling gambling addition, Moglie is generally dispationate until his skills are brought up. Talk about guns, he's bored, talk about how 'no one could make that shot', and suddenly, you have a volunteer betting you money he can. The more impossible a task, the better, but Moglie can often be tricked even into mundane skills by claiming "Didn't think you could." Having grown up with 9 siblings, Moglie does his best to stand out, even if he's not very loud.

Needless to say, Moglie is a narcissist. He marks down everything he can do as vital life skills... and anything he can't do as something nobody "really needs". Having been fired from many clans, he claims he doesn't need them, he's just helping out clan Scorpio.

Background: Middle child of 9 children of a famous mog knight, Moglie seemed to just blend into the background. His father hurt his back in a turf war, so he had to pick up new skills as a craftsman. Opening a Machinist shop that serviced airships, Moglie often was lost in the flurry of helping. He grew frustrated that he only got the left over jobs, so he tried to be as innovative as possible.

Sadly, with already built ships, innovative doesn't mean efficient. His father tried teaching him the tricks of a knight as well, but Moglie proved too cowardly to pain, and ran from an encounter just as it was beginning. Not knowing what to do, his father left the crying moogle alone.

Moglie, with anger at failing, just figured he needed to be able to take out a target without being near them. It wasn't as if he HAD to be a masochist. Spending the last of his gil on a gun, he started doing odd jobs. Finding he was decent, he practiced and practiced.

Abrasive, he was kicked out after clan after clan, growing more and more desperate for clan. One of his long time friends of Baguda Port laughed that she thought he was overselling himself, he wasn't THAT good of a shot. Moglie bet 2,000 gil he could shoot an apple off her pom pom from the clock tower. A bit hesitant, she donned armor, but told him to bring it on. Flitting through the bazaar, Moglie spotted her, and took the shot, not noticing she had dove infront of a stall. He made the shot, but suddenly the market was ablaze that someone had just shot the textile merchant!

Moglie was arrested before he could even leave town! Moglie didn't do well in prison!

As the Night of Rent Steel occurred, the night the prison itself was broken in a turn war clash, Moglie was staring out the cell doors at the moon when he saw an incoming fireball. The little moogle had never screamed 'kupo' so loud in his life! As the hole was made, after calming his heart down, the little moogle made a break for it!
It wasn't til the group was in Jagd Dorsi that Moglie realized he was stuck with a clan again! Still, long as it's interesting and he gets attention for his shots, he could care less who he worked for!

Notable Abilities: Concentration: Moglie's extremely accurate, even for a Fusilier. His shots might not be nearly as impressive as he believes, and certainly don't cause the most damage, but he tends to hit his target most of the time

Trying to run from me are you?
Nah. Hana found me within 24 hours, I knew at that moment it was futile. :D {Joking}

Welcome if ya want! I'm still hashing stuff out. Got character sheets, but will be putting out lore and a bin tonight.
