The setting: A cyberpunk hyper-urbanized world where supernatural beings (vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, etc) are just beginning to get civil rights protections but still struggle against massive discrimination, in addition to the struggles of living under a struggling economy in a city environment.

The premise: A group (5-20) of supernatural friends who band together to support each other through their difficult lives; Perhaps they all meet in the same bar/cafe, perhaps the larger group is composed of smaller friend groups that are connected loosely, or perhaps they know each other some other way. Im up to sculpt this idea collaboratively.

I would prefer roleplayers who are 17+ and comfortable with more mature themes (addiction, trauma, discrimination and oppression) and roleplayers who are comfortable with LGBTQ characters.

for me the biggest question is why the Supernaturals just don't infect/wipeout the humans? Or are the supernaturals here like have powers nerfed to just being different in physiology and culture?
I envision this AU happening in a point in time where technology makes policing and surveillance very hard to dodge, meaning that the organization capacity of any oppressed group is very limited. A great deal of effort and resources goes into policing supernaturals specifically because of the natural power differential between supernaturals and human beings, so many technologies have been developed that can counter these abilities.
in this world, supernaturals are also subjugated through assimilation, meaning that many kinds of supernaturals (werewolves, vampires, shifters) are offered treatments that can remove their condition. There’s a lot of societal pressure to do this and a general attitude of “well if you don’t want to be oppressed why don’t you just try being normal”, which has a severe impact on their attempts at protesting. Many humans do not empathize with their cause, and while monsters may at least be offered government assistance and can turn to some charities, they are not protected from most forms of discrimination.

As a neurodivergent I love this concept. Sign me up. Also, what specific kinds of supernatural creatures are we thinking? Like, could I play an elemental? And do our supernaturals have human forms they can morph into? Or are they just stuck as whatever they are?

Hello fellow neurodivergent!
I want to make the range as broad as possible, so any kind of supernatural will be accepted (unless there’s a consensus that certain ones should be excluded for cohesiveness sake). Vampires, werewolves/lycanthrope/were-animals, shapeshifters, fae, elementals, magic-possessing/practicing humans, reanimated individuals… I want the kitchen sink in this canon.

I think we can start with the four of us, but then leave it open in case there's more interest.

Bruh. Lets go! I'm pretty pretty good at pushing the int Chk every so often too
Word!
Knight boi Knight boi yutohase yutohase
I am working until 5 tomorrow and can’t guarantee availability until Saturday. If y’all want to talk about plots/archs, what you’d like to see in the canon, what themes you wanna explore (having a theme planned is something I enjoy doing but is absolutely not required, no pressure).
when I can I will write a few paragraphs about the world lore as I envision it + any ideas y’all come up with and revisions y’all want to make.
since this idea touches on heavy themes of discrimination, I welcome y’all to discuss content boundaries if you feel that is needed. I personally have character who is heavily addicted to drugs but I want to know if that’s something I’ll have to keep behind a spoiler wall for somebody in the space.
if you don’t want to have any involvement at all in shaping the canon that’s ok; I want to invite y’all to shape it so this is fun for everyone but it’s not required.

I'd join this. I'm a sucker for slice of life AND the twist is a bonus. Tag me up when!

Dont worry dude.
Life is important since we have no necromancers irl.
Also this sounds nice to me you know.
Kinda reverbs in my mind and ideas float around.

I'm interested if there is still room for more!
