At the Adventurers' Table: Chapter Seventeen

Ah, I keep forgetting that we're using the 2.0 skill list.

Well, the Lore Skill doesn't exist in 1.0. It's one of the reasons I chose 2.0 for Sharseya - it just works better.

I hope to post in-game in the next 24 hours. Maybe in the next few hours if Real Life allows. *crosses fingers* =)

So I think I'll go with the suggestion of Kaerri Kaerri and take Monster Lore. Can't think of anything else right now.

Posting this here, too.

I'd like to try a Monster Lore at a +8 to get an idea of how much hurt the ogres can take before going down.

While the Wayward Wanderers are gazing up into the sky and all across magnificent star-touched heavens, Kaerri's attention is drawn below. Down in the forest, some of the wood seems to move and rush forward on its own accord, like some great river. Even the Treants of her beloved Forest Eternal, do not move with such fervor and apparent resolve.

But then the half-elf gets a closer, steady look. These are not treants at all but ogres! Precisely two-dozen of the cruel, towering brutes appear to be chasing something down in Shandra's Evergreen.

You are too high up to hear anything, but you also see exactly six floating masses of blue-skinned demolishers weaving over and around the trees directing the chaotic horde. Ogre Magi - unquestionably!

(With her incredible result) Kaerri spots a sure glimpse of several green-clad fellows attempting to escape the ogres. Who they are she is too far to tell, but they definitely know what they're doing in the woods.

"Intriguing, my wielder," rolls Wave's slow, deep, and familiar voice into Kaerri's mind. "This dull-minded gang of louts is far too south of the war's front lines. Yet I spy the glint of steel on their shoulders and in their eager hands. They are too small to be a flanking element of any use to their own. What do they here so far from their masters?"

What does Kaerri do?
Hmm, I think I see where this is going...

Wait, wait, hold up jaydude jaydude . Do you mean to say that you're paying attention to a post that does not apply to your Character?

As if you care about the story as a whole?

And you are willing to try and put two and two together and talk about it here in The Adventurers' Table?

...

Jaydude, we just might have to keep you! =)

*shrugs* Just saw the bit about ogres chasing a load of green-clad folks through the woods, remembered what my intro post had involved, and put two and two together.

can I make a Monster Lore roll to get an idea of how hard it will be to take on this bunch? I have a +8 to my roll.
Psychie Psychie Absolutely! Thanks for providing Oreleth's Skill modifier. =)

The white d20 rolls a... 10 giving Oreleth a total of 18. Details of this result will be provided in-game. =)

Heya Gang!

Let's talk polyhedrons, shall we? I've gotten some new dice and I'd like to revamp the dice options for those that might want a change (or keep to the dice they've been using, none of which are going away). There are two reasons I'm doing this - I've gotten a new computer fairly recently and I don't think I can access the program off of my old hard drive anymore, so I'm having to go purely by memory for who wants what in which game. If memory serves... (correct me if I'm mistaken, please):

Sharseya
Cap'n - Blue set (plastic)
Kaerri - Yellow (plastic)
Jaydude - Highwind set (white and green metal)
Psychie - White set (plastic)
Sherwood - Orange set (plastic)

For the sheer heck and fun of it, I will be posting more options in Shop Talk. This is not because I want folks to change sets but because I just want the option out there and I like my dice! =)

You will see. Give me time to put up the picture. =)

Sure! The "Highwind Dice" are your future dice! =)

Kaerri would like #7, the shimmery dark blue/green. ^33^

Just to be clear, Luna will cast her Chain Lightning spell on the ogre magi once they are in range of the spell. I throw 13 bolts that do 13d6+7 damage. Save DC 22.

Sherwood Sherwood Two things you should probably know followed by a serious question:

1. None of the ogre magi are grouped within 30 feet of each other (they are directing the ogre horde from the outside of the horde's kind of like sheepdogs herding sheep in the direction of the sheepdog's choosing).

2. Any one of the ogre magi, however, are within 30 feet of the armored ogres.

Question: By your statement, Luna is casting the moment they're in range (which is 920 feet at Luna's Experience Level). So... Luna is casting Chain Lightning at the ogre magi regardless of what Oreleth does? Like you, I'm just asking for the sake of clarity.

Hmm. Ok, I'll hold my spell until we are within 400 feet, and will hit one magi and as many of the big uglies down on the ground. That will let our archers be in range to hit the fliers an do some damage, too.
