Alvar Wurnol, the King of Bremmerlund, is dead. The iron crown of the hard cold northern kingdom now falls to his eldest son, Ethred, who is every bit the hardened and cruel man that his father was, but filled with a burning ambition. He sees Bremmerlund, with its stony wastelands, and rugged pine forests, as a kingdom fit for only the unambitious and weak, and he sets his eyes on the neighboring kingdom of Galt, a land with access to the sea and rich in gold, trade goods, and profitable land.

Galt is poised to seize the power position in the region, and, if not for their dependence on Bremmerlundian iron, there would be little to prevent it. Should they form a military alliance with the southern nation of Lyria, Bremmerfel would find itself at the mercy of a considerable power.

Ethred knows that securing an alliance with Lyria is of paramount importance, but his hunger for real dominance will not be satisfied by security. He needs cause to muster forces to invade Galt, and, though he has a dominant position in the construction of arms, he will need the might of the Lyrian lords and their vassal knights and conscripts to take his side in the conflict.

He will need to force Lyria's hand and leave them with no choice but to join in a conflict with Galt. To do this, he devises a sinister plot.

Ethred has one sibling (male or female, its up to you!) his younger by 7 years who is eligible for marriage. He offers the prince(or princess) of Lyria, his younger sibling as a spouse, under the pretense of strengthening the good will between the nations. The younger sibling will be escorted to the Lyrian court by a small and highly mobile retinue of soldiers. In the meantime, he lays a trap. He will send assassins in the livery of Lyria to waylay the sibling's coach and kill both them and their retinue. Leaving behind evidence of Lyrian treachery. Of course, when Lyria denies involvement, Ethred will agree with them, and claim his spies found evidence of a Galtish plot to upend their alliance. It was Galt the whole time! If the King of Lyria believes the evidence, he will have no choice but to ride to war with Galt in an alliance with Ethred and the Bremmerlundian forces.

You will play as the young princess or prince, and I will play as a veteran soldier who has served as their personal guard since they were born. Through sheer luck or fate, we will manage to evade the assassins and find ourselves on the run from Ethred's pursuit. Will we be able to expose the plot before Ethred drags three nations into bloody war?

On the journey, the old soldier and his young charge will have to watch each others' back, master combat, and face treachery and spies at every turn.

I am looking for a relatively advanced writer who is willing to take on the role of a young prince or princess, betrayed by their family and ready to help craft the story!
I will ask for a writing sample just to see if we are compatible writers unless we have written together in the past.

I am a huge fan of this. I would love to explore the possibilities if it is still open!
