3.) Discord is required for those who are accepted. Much of the character plotting, as well at story planning with happen there. However, an ooc will be created on rpn until characters are accepted.

Established in 1920, Soothing Horizons originally was a treatment center for the men of the Lost Generation. The founders sought to help those who suffered from the traumatic aftermath of World War I. Soothing Horizons’ humble beginnings lie within what was once the home of one of the founders. He welcomed anyone and everyone into his abode with the hopes that he, and his fellow founders, could help them. Soothing Horizons would expand and accept more patients as time went on. Over recent years, the wellness center became so highly praised that the local community raised funds to build an even larger and more modern center. These funds went directly towards the innovative Soothing Horizons building that resides within the mountains above today.

Soothing Horizons is known for being one of the most advanced and effective wellness centers. It is a haven for those residing within; at least, until recently. There have been few reports over the months of patients disappearing for brief amounts of time. These disappearances last a few hours at most. Nonetheless, the results are the same: the patient returns acting differently. Unable to determine what causes the sudden switch in some of their patients, the staff forces themselves to believe that it is just their treatments taking into effect. Unbeknownst to them, many of their patients are no longer people at all.
Lurking within the once untouched mountains is an evolving parasite. Creatures that were previously isolated from the outside world, have gotten a taste of freedom and are not planning to let it go. Together, they’ll make the new world theirs, starting from the inside.
—ROLES.THE WORKHORSE. It was amazing how much dedication they put into their work, clawing their way to the top with such determination and ambition that others couldn’t help to admire them. Their life has always been focused on accomplishing goals. With careful precision and planning, they made it to the top of the ladder and they enjoyed the view from above. With so much of their life focused on work, it’s no surprise that their social life is a little…hollow. They’ve spent so much time dedicated to their field that they don’t even know what they truly want in life.They measure their self-worth by how much work they can get done, and fall into a pit of despair if they don’t reach their expectations. When that fall seemed a little harder this time around and they seemed as if they were only sinking further, their spouse stepped in. Soothing Horizons was a place where they could learn to relax and appreciate things outside of work.
THE BEREAVED. The death of a loved one is something people dread to think about. People are quick to dismiss the thought with positivity, “Oh my father is as healthy as a horse!” “She’s never gotten sick a day in her life!”, it never truly feels real until it hits home. Perhaps there was something that they could have done, something that they could have said that would have changed how things are now. If only they hadn’t been so stubborn, so selfish, their loved one would have been here now. The argument hadn’t even been that serious now that they’re looking back. And now, all that they can do is look back, at memories of them, of ways they could have stepped in. Deep within their heart is regret and anger, at themselves, at their loved one, and all those who get too close. They bottle up these emotions, force themselves to keep going. It’s easier not talking about it, about them. They stew in their negative emotions, their regret and frustration. It’s what they deserve, it was their fault after all.
THE ALTRUIST. There’s something amazing about those who help people simply because they care, rather than because they expect something in return. They were taught to help others when they could, that selfless acts were how you increased your blessings. And they took those words to heart. In the beginning, they had gone to school in order to become a doctor. But the field didn’t seem quite right for them. They wanted to be closer to people, to be there as they made changes and accomplished their goals in life. It was then that they knew that they wanted to become a Wellness Consultant. They absolutely love it and upon completing all of the steps, was able to land a job at Soothing Horizons. They watched as people came and went, happy to be able to help people change their lives for the better.
THE LEGIONNAIRE. The past is a dangerous thing. Though time may pass and life goes on, those scars that litter the mind never heal. Or it seems that way at least. The Legionnaire is often painfully reminded of the past, of a time surrounded by war. Certain sounds, sights, and feels bring them back to that time on the front lines once again. Though recognized for their service, once back home they find it hard to adapt to the life of a civilian once again. They feel useless, out of their element even. Perhaps that was why they became a recluse, moving within the woods and living off the land. And maybe that’s why those men had decided that they were an easy target for a robbery. Now the Legionnaire’s hands are stained with more blood.
THE CONTENDER. They were raised by one of the best, born and bred to follow in their parent’s footsteps. For as long as they could remember, their sport had been their passion. The scholarships came in dozens, their Jersey and awards framed at their schools. Trophies were proudly displayed in their home and their parents had something to brag about to all of their friends. But fate is a cruel mistress it seems. It all happened in a blink of an eye, it was just a moment but the results were devastating. The Contender was left with a life changing injury and from then on, life was a downward spiral. They became angry, angry at those who abandoned them, at how quickly they were thrown away and replaced. But perhaps there’s hope for them yet with enough hard work and dedication.
THE ILLUSTRIOUS. There are those who were born to be stars, to sing and dance, and put on for hundreds of adoring fans. For years people work in order to debut and show the world their talents. There was no one who knew the struggle more than them. They worked hard to achieve the level of success that they’re at now. The spotlight focused on them, the blinding lights put them on a pedestal far above the others. That same light focused in on them, looking for any sign of weakness, of imperfection. Eventually they found no joy in what they were doing, found that they could no longer enjoy life as they once had. The media was vicious, hawk-like in their quest to find the latest scoop on them. With so much insight to their private life, people begin to feel entitled. Fans believe that they are owed something, that perhaps they even own their fav. It all began with a letter, then photos, and eventually phone calls. The Illustrious began to fear for their safety, their sanity. They needed to get away from it all, take time for themselves and lay low until they could put themselves together again.
