CS Thread Closure
Mire Mire Zufaix Zufaix Spoiled Bread Spoiled Bread kasigi kasigi Your characters have been accepted and added to the roster.

Mire Mire Zufaix Zufaix If you would like to write a snippet of lore to be added about the capital cities they lived in, feel free, and I will add it to the lore thread.

kasigi kasigi Please give me a location on the map for the Nachtigall Domain. I understand that it is much smaller than say, a town/village and whatnot. But it would be nice to know if we pass by it on our characters' adventures.

Though Stern Lululu will not be participating, we currently have eight characters on the roster, and one WIP character sheet. There is one additional person who I am personally reserving a spot for, because they've DMed me extensively, but other than that we are at max capacity.

Despite this, if you really want to participate still, and have a passionate idea for a character. You may inquire about possibly extending the list.

If not, the character sheets thread is now closed. Do not post more, or I will delete them.

Q&A 2
Hello, I once again answered someone's lore questions and thought I'd leave all the answers here again.
- Are there any major religions?
I can imagine there being many spread across the continent, and I will likely brainstorm one for Professor Helios, but I have yet to come up with anything concrete. You can come up with one if you wish.

- Are our characters fairly unique in not learning any magic until we've become adults, or is it the cultural norm to hold off on teaching minors any bits of magic?
It is indeed a cultural norm to hold off on teaching children/minors magic. There is nothing wrong with learning theory work and the concepts behind it early, but actual practical applications of it should be learnt when of adult age, a bit like a university degree.

Magic can be incredibly dangerous, and if not taught reliably, can just kill the user outright. Adult intelligence, sensibility and such is recommended to avoid such fates.

- Does casting spells require a focus of some kind like a wand or staff? Do foci even exist or is spellcasting all technique?
Some may prefer a wand/staff to help visualize and focus things, such as magic circle drawing and/or runes, which is more common for Devastation Mages, but most don't usually require one at all.

There are magic artifacts that can be discovered and utilized however, and perhaps even made in the far future, but that will be a discussion for later.

- Can you describe what a Revelos might look like?
'These creatures, later to be named Revelos, grew exponentially in strength as they hunted and ate other beings, quickly becoming a threat to all of humankind. Their powers, abilities and forms vary greatly, but the one thing they had in common was their bright red skin, dyed the colour of blood. Most had poor, beast-like intelligence, but those that had eaten thousands of humans began to show the intelligence of a child, an alarming feature to a land already struggling to survive.'

Uh, you can likely imagine any sort of monstrous entity, give it bright red skin, and I will probably accept it as a Revelos. They can range from appearing similar to classic beasts, such as wolfs and tigers and such, to being bipedal tentacled monstrosities. Up to you really.

i didn't realize birthdays were on the little event calendar until now but Nina's is February 2.

Here's a description for Orlais too, If I need to adjust anything just say the word!

Orlais is one of the wealthiest places in Aralis, it attracts much attention from wealthy travelers for it's rich culture and beautiful architecture. Despite its reputation for having some very beautiful sites and an abundance of things to do there. Not many foreigners visit. Most likely thanks to the judgementalness of the residents, and the fact that the people there are constantly playing political games. Searching eachother for any mistake that could be used against them and vying for power. It's been described by the famous author and explorer, Nickolas Wrightwood, in his biography as, "The moment I stepped in Orlais, I felt as if I had begun a relentless game of chess and the eyes of the entire empire were upon me."

Here's a description for Ilmestys!
-
The capital of Ruiyol, Ilmestys reflects the splendor and resplendence of the wealthiest nation on the continent. It is a city admired for its grand architecture and affluent culture, where high society mingles and tales of grand heroics are exchanged over wine and finery. There is something divine about the sleek alabaster spires and luxurious stone; the best of the best for the best. A utopia.

However, not all that glimmers is gold. This metropolis features an extensive class divide, hidden by a distinctive system of walls that physically separates destitution from luster. Among the outer edges of the city -- the Lower Ring -- poverty festers between dilapidated corners and the crumbling architecture, a sight carefully concealed from tourist and high-born eyes alike. The slowly shrinking Middle Ring is slightly better: richer and more tranquil than the Lower Ring, yet, it is the Upper Ring that Ilmestys is mainly renowned for, with its empyrean structures and extensive nobility.

Visitors are encouraged to stick to the Main Path: a spiraling, polished stone brick pathway that solely displays the glory of Upper Ring, and perhaps for good reason. Without the protection of Ilmestys' expansive police force, things can get quite violent.

MAYDAY MAYDAY WE HAVE A PROBLEM
kasigi kasigi Klaus is literally amazing??? His history is so rich and god-

I hold Klaus by the shoulders, ready to be pummeled: TELL ME ABOUT THE GUILT LITTLE MAN!

Also, a small thing? Is it possible for you to put Klaus' notable physical traits in your CS, since the FC you've chosen is completely white? It would help with future descriptions!

Also, I can't tell if Khestri is going to love this man or hate him. This is going to be WILD.

Khessi: just casually trying to befriend Klaus bc she likes the energy
Klaus: What Do You Wany (politely)
Nina is the ultimate hype man so I can see most of her and Klaus's interactions being like:

Klaus: I am so talented!
Nina: *furious nodding*

THANK YOU SO MUCH
This is awesome to wake up to. I'm reaally curious about how some of these character dynamics are going to turn out, as a lot of the personalities we have in the roleplay are incredibly complex and offer a lot of substance to work with.

I won't be satisfied unless we crank the dial all the way up to 11. YEAH LETS GOOO

I'll write up a description in Klaus' CS and get the map marked soon.
I need to decide where exactly I want this domain to be

ABSOLUTELY!!!
The amount of creativity this roleplay curates is amazing, and that's putting it lightly.

Silver did a great job with giving us a place to thrive.

Can't wait to meet Klaus!!

You need to stop inflating my ego and giving me a big head 😂
At least wait till we're a few pages into the roleplay, then you can ;)

And I can't wait to meet Khessi!
Seriously, no kidding. I love the freedom we've been given and what everyone's done with it. It's rare that participants have this much control over locations and lore in a fantasy roleplay. Not only that, but the creation process has the necessary restrictions to feel properly organized and structured.

You need to stop inflating my ego and giving me a big head 😂

Take my praise! I won't stop until your ego is as big as Klaus'.

Right I've added the updated draft. I think everything is consistent and the typos are edited out but if anything is off or doesn't fit let me know and ill sort it right away. I've changed it a bit to make it read clearer. Let me know what you think. I'll have a more thorough read through the ooc and lore stuff and add relevant details for her backstory if required.

Seems good! There haven't been many content differences compared to earlier. Is it still a draft? Let me know when it's finished, if so, so I can add you to the roster and such.

I do wonder why the queen suddenly decided to give advice to a great granddaughter she seemingly had little contact with, but it was a nice gesture from her nonetheless.

I'd like you to pick a location on the map for Shatterlight as well as a short description of the place, if you're fine with that. To live on the Vorraican border near military outposts, I wonder what it's like?

Ya, the majority of the edits turned out to be minor tweaks and spelling/grammar checks. I was half asleep when I posted so wanted to give myself a bit of time to go over it. I'm happy to say it's finished if you're ok with it. As for the queen ya, it's mostly supposed to be a nice gesture and a possible RP hook later on, if we get out of the academy. I imagine they have met a fair bit but royalty being royalty it was probably never as comfortable as either would like. I'll do the map right away and have a think on the outposts.

Perfect, I'm actually working on editing the map right now! Senja has been accepted, and will be added to the roster and such in a bit.

Also, I think I've written all that I will for now, for the NPCs, if people want to look at the brief amount of writing I did on those. I need to start preparing the opening post lol

Shatterlights location and the location of a nearby military base. Details to follow.

Shatterlight

A short distance from the southern border with Vorracia, the area around Shatterlight is more temperate than other parts of the kingdom. A large rural estate surrounded by several small villages; it would be considered unremarkable except for one reason. During the Red Cataclysm, the meteors that struck the area punched smashed into the nearby hills, turning them into places of death and horror. Only after the great hero’s intervention was the majesty of the area revealed. Once hidden beneath the ground, large arrangements of crystal were exposed. At just the right time of day, as the sun sets, its light hits the crystal, casting shimmering rainbows into the darkening sky.

Randalla Academy's Nearby Settlements
Is Randalia a lone academy in the middle of a mountain or its actually surrounded by regular settlements?
Originally, closer to its founding, Randalla Academy was very isolated due to its dangerous location, and poor habitable conditions. The nearest settlement was at least three or four days worth of travel away, taking into account the steep, treacherous mountain landscape.

But due to the academy's growing success, as well as its natural determent of monsters/beasts due to its mages, a few small mountainous settlements have been set up nearby. Though, even the nearest is an hour away at least, since Randalla Academy is built into the mountain side of one of the tallest mountain peaks.

One of the most popular locations for students, is a growing town located in a closeby valley. As the closest 'big' settlement, it sells a much wider variety of things compared to the minute mountain villages, and has things like inns, bars, proper shops, restaurants, etc. The travel time is steep, taking at least 2-3 hours just to get there, but fortunately its inn prices are quite affordable.

(Since this kinda stuff will be introduced IC, I may tweak this again beforehand)
