Chitchat LGBTQ+, how do you show your pride?

Kurotsuki

One body, many minds
I typed out like a whole paragraph and the damn proxy crashed and deleted it. I hate school internet

I personally identify as genderfluid, as well as bisexual omniromantic. I've done everything I can to be able to "become" a boy; dressing in neutral/mens clothes, cut my hair short, changed my pronouns to they/them or he/him, having teachers refer to me as sir/other male-biased titles rather than ma'am, changed my name (not legally tho... yet) to Kuro, so on and so forth. I'm very proud to say I'm now a passable NB/boy.

I'm a singer, and can produce both male and female vocal tones (surprised I haven't been called a trap yet lmao). It's really fun to sing cutesy/tsundere songs as a boy! xD
And as a bilingual, I use different Japanese.. pronouns? Not sure if that's what they're called. Whatever they are, anyway I use "boku" or "atashi" (sometimes "oresama" but that's only on rare occasions) depending on whether I'm feeling more masculine/feminine.

I'm very open about my bisexuality, and currently have a girlfriend who is a literal angel and very accepting of all of this. I have a rainbow ring with the bisexual symbol etched into it, that I wear every time I leave my house, as well as a few pride-themed buttons.

LGBTQ+ friendos, how do you show your pride?

I'm considering making an alternate (yes another alt, I already host 3 channels but whatever) YouTube channel to post covers on as a reverse-trap (bio F pretending to be M). Just for clarification, I do not use "trap" as a derogatory term in this context, it's simply the most recognized label for my intention, which is to fool others into believing I'm one gender when I'm really not. This would work, since I can produce "masculine" vocal tones easily. It'd be creating yet another internet persona - besides Amatsu (forum/main YT persona) and Kuro ("real self") - as a cute, tsundere, and most likely gay boy, but I believe I can play the part.

The first song I'd try to cover would be "Sweet Magic", a very cutesy and sweet song originally sung by Rin Kagamine.

What do y'all think of this plan? Besides the obvious moral conflict that may come from intentionally misleading others, which I am fully aware some may not approve of, I think it'd be fun to do.

I can’t see the song ;w;

Usually I hold my boyfriend close, hold his hand, etc. in public, people don’t really make big deal about it thankfully, but we had one guy say some “unfriendly” things, I simply told him ”Fuck you” and we carried on with our business.

Tell him I said fuck you also

For anyone who knows Vocaloid, here's a list of songs I'd be eventually covering on this alt channel (if I actually do this) as a boy. Japanese or English idk lol

-World is Mine
-Candy Candy (Kyary Pamyu Pamyu)
-Cat Food
-Sweet Magic
-Romeo and Cinderella
-The Snow White Princess is...
-Electric Angel
-LOL Lots Of Laugh

*Edit - also Ura Omote Lovers/Two Faced Lovers if I can ever manage to learn the lyrics
*Edit2 - how could I forget Gomen ne Gomen ne? (Yes, I'm fully aware what that song's about)

Some people are just awful, they're not worth our time. Good on you

In a very Finnish way lol. I'm not too vocal about being bi or anything, but I do tend to butt in when talking about anything related to gender or sexuality. Now and then I might have rainbow-themed stuff, but that's more because I like colorful stuff. I'm not trying to hide it and if someone asks I will tell them me and my bf are both bi. It's nice to see people wear pride stuff though since it warms me up knowing that they're exploring their identity or already found it.

Well, I don't and I do at the same time. I'm just EXTREMELY feminine in my disgusting male body. I'm mostly a lesbian. Idk how I show it on the outside, that's just how I feel. I just, love people. And I used to drop hundreds of hints to my family about being trans, but I gave up. I talk to my friends about it sometimes, and it's great and everthing, but OMG. I attract so many men an woman who are over the top on Everything. If it's a guy, he's like, the cliche kinda gay. The all the way gay that says 'yaassssss queen'. If it's a lesbian girl then basically every single one I've dated, or even met, talks about flags way too much. It's not like I have anything against the gay guys, and the lesbo girls, because they're cool. But they're a bit too much on that part of it. But when you find a bi girl or guy who can rock your world in the perfect way, then it doesn't matter. I would spend the rest of my life with them. Wow, that's a bit off topic. Sorry! Anyways, I'd like to be able to wear what I want, but I can't without my family knowing. It really sucks.

I don't do much in public beyond dressing however tf I want tbh, I've always been gender non-conforming but I'm too tired of dealing with bigotry, so I don't feel much desire to have bi pins n whatnot. Too much energy if anyone's a dick but I'm excited to be living in a much larger city where less people probably don't give a shit and there's an entire gay neighborhood covered in rainbows and trans flags. I don't necessarily hide it, though. I'd like to get a flag or two to decorate with. Pride events are really fun and I almost never go to bars but LGBT ones > all others.

And I used to drop hundreds of hints to my family about being trans, but I gave up.

Don't lose total hope. If you're unsure about how they'd react to you coming out, you can always bring up trans people in media (Like- "Oh hey, this big youtuber just came out as trans!"), or trans rights in general, and see what kinds of things they say about them. And if you think there's no danger, some people find it easier to write coming out letters to their parents. That way you can make sure everything's worded how you want it to be, and it can give the parents time to process it as well. Maybe spend the night at your friends house or something if you're anxious. If you look online, there's a lot of tips for how to do it. Waiting forever to be able to medically transition can be pretty miserable, so I hope your family gets it together soon. 😂

As a gay fella, I usually show my pride by getting my boyfriend to hold my hand when people say; ‘That’s so gay! You’re gay!’ to insult stuff. Honestly, alot of people in my neighbourhood find it really funny at this point, as we both go outside alot now, and some kids who still think it’s funny to call people gay as an insult get really embarrased when we both hold hands in front of them.

Basically me and my gf. I'm bio F but identify as fluid/NB, so I get both transphobia and homophobia aimed at me. But both my gf and I are the type of people to say "oh yeah? Well f*ck you" and proceed to hold hands or hug or kiss or whatever. We don't care what people have to say lol

Yeah, me and my boyfriend literally kissed every time that we saw them when my parents told me that they didn’t think I was really gay. They support me now, but we still do it everytime, just to remind them about it. Still alot of fun once they roll their eyes and tell me that they get it now. There’s honestly no better feeling then finding an excuse to hug somebody in my opinion, so seeing my parents over video calls is a great way to find a reason.

Dawg I just make everyone in my character cast extremely queer. Everyone's at least half gay. Bi, pan, ace, gay, poly and every flavor of gender; I don't think too hard about "oh they'd be attracted to x gender" or what they'd identify as, it just naturally happens. Typically, I don't like playing cis, straight characters too much because restricting a character's romantic advances based off gender just feels...weird? My favorite go-to are poly pan characters because you can just pull off so much with them. If two characters have chemistry, they have chemistry. If three of them do? The more the merry. Diversity is rad, yo.

As for in-person? ...Well, the collection of 10+ flannels and a hardcore butch voice goes a long way. Other people knew I was gay before I knew, evidently. Also I apparently serve as a beacon for the baby gays, because they always flocked to me for the chaotic gay energy I exude.

Not to be the drag, but reading this makes me extremely sad. See I have not only controlling but homophobic step-parents, and they don't allow me to express myself. Although I do find subtle ways to do it. At school I identity as a Pansexual gender fluid. So I find ways I can be myself. Like if I'm feeling more masculine that day I'll wear my hair up, or put on something rainbow coloured. But due to my living conditions I'm not able to really express myself freely.

Also just a note OMG I HATE DRESSES!

Okay so I understand the gay people always flocking you, because literally I get every kind of LGBT+ surrounding me in my friend groups. I just attract them. It kinda freaks me out sometimes because they hit on me constantly and I'm like, yeahhh I'm just not into you, sorry! It's not like I didn't like some of them. Truth-be-told, I don't even believe I'm a full lesbian anymore. At least not sexually. Romantically...I'm still trying to figure that shit out. Basically everyone just thought that since I'm trans and can't figure my romance part of sexuality out, that I'm up for grabs. For most of them, no, I'm not. Not because they are those things....but because I just don't like them. Some people are like, 'What? How can you not like them if you're one of them?' Because that's just not how love works I guess? Jeez...

And I understand the part where your parents won't let you express yourself. When my sister came out to my dad...I think it was a bit before he came to terms with it. And as for me being trans? I just know he wouldn't believe me if I told him. He doesn't even let me dress how I semi-want to...and that really sucks...

Also I love the idea of dresses, I just haven't worn one yet (and probably won't until I'm older and moved out of my current house with my dad) to have a decent opinion about them.

Also, does anyone know how much it costs to surgically change genders from m to f? I think it's a lot of surgeries too...

It's unfortunate that anyone has to go through these things, but they happen. Also I have a closet full of dresses if you want them! And it's not a small closet. 😄
