Realistic or Modern Salem Academy CS

OOC
Here

Neo Alice

Mahō Shōjo
Welcome to Salem Academy! Here you can submit your CS, please remember that you can make 4 characters but at least 1 of them must be a protagonist (A 15 years old teen, rescued by the witches from the compound). You can make more than one protagonist, even 4, I don’t have an issue with that, but the minimum is 1 since I don’t want anyone left behind on the fun. We are currently on 2020 IC but the story will have time skips since we all want to see these kids grow, the ones that survive at least…

Oh! Also, please put each of your CS on a separated spoiler, your beloved GM is only on mobile and that way I can have more order <3

(Image of your Character, Anime or Drawn only)

Full Name:

Nationality:

Age: 15 (If not a protagonist then it must be higher, but never lower)

Year: (No Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior, this is a Witchcraft Academy. Initiated, Novice, Practitioner or Pledged, after graduating you’re a full Witch and treated as such but protagonists start as Initiated. Teachers delete this and instead put the magical class you are teaching, to our protagonists of course.)

Personality: (Protagonists must specify how much did the experiments affected them psychologically and if they feel safe on the Academy or not.)

Type of Power: (Localized, Contractual or Fading)

Name of Power: (If you are a protagonist copy and paste the name, only those that create powers must add an original explanation aside from the name.)

Background: (Protagonists please explain in which specific way you abused the power and got the scientist attention, also how did they kidnapped you? And what did they make you do in the compound? Be as creative and dark as you like, you were in the compound for at least a year. )

Trivia: Is there something interesting related to the character? Tell us all about it.

List of Available and Claimed Powers:

Localized Powers: Magical Abilities that reside on a certain part of the human body, if your character loses said part or can’t use it at the moment then they can’t use the power. They are flawed at the start but the limitations can be improved and removed by training.

Telekinesis: Moving things with the power of your mind, you're limited to things you can see (Including, with effort, people). It doesn't matter if you know that it is there, you must be able to see it since this magical ability is located in the eyes. If you can’t no longer see whatever you were controlling then you can’t control it anymore, that simple. @Cystal Chompound

Levitation: Essentially the ability to fly, you need to practice it or you won't be able to control it and you could seriously get injured or die. It’s located your vertebral column is like walking, so if you can’t walk you can’t fly either.

Elemental Palms: The power to create and control one element (Water, Ice, Fire, Electricity, Earth, Air, Light or Darkness), you have to use your hands for this since this magical ability is located in the hands. (The actual name of the ability replaces the word “elemental” by your chosen element, so Water Palms, Ice palms, etc. Two characters can’t have the same palms.) (Ice Palms: Kmbrly Kmbrly ) (Earth Palms: Circe Circe ) (Water Palms: Neo Alice Neo Alice )

Collapse: An ability that allows the user to crumble and destroy their surroundings or objects around them. A powerful and deadly power, people with it usually die young. Is located in the heart and it triggers itself under stress, fear or negative emotions quite easily. The users usually end up dying because they accidentally activate it and the structure in which they are falls on top of them, crushing them to death. The school infrastructure is protected and can’t be affected by this power; those identified with this gift must be recruited into joining in for their own safety, by force if necessary. olive.tree olive.tree

Medium: It allows you to be possessed by ghosts, if they had a magical ability you'll be able to use it. Is located on the brain and because of this the ghosts get to control you, basically getting multiple personalities with powers. You'll need training to retain your consciousness and suppress the ghost's identity to have access to their magic without them gaining access to you. While possessed, things like eye color and hair color are temporally changed to fit the ghost's original appearance. (You may start with 3 ghosts that were cellmates of your character but died from the tests made by the scientists, but you must create their abilities.) Yennie Yennie

Storage: The power to storage objects on a special pocket dimension to which only you have access. You can't enter to that dimension, only storage items in it and summon them later to be used. This power is located in the vocal cords, to storage or summon an item you must say its name. It's limited to objects and inanimate things so you can't storage people, entire buildings/houses or animals but you can storage food and plants. Until you have mastered this ability you won’t be able to storage something with the exact same name as other thing that is already in storage. bxbydoll bxbydoll

Upgrade: The magical ability to improve natural characteristics of objects, a scissor upgraded can easily cut metal, a shield of wood won’t be pierced by bullets, etc. Is located on the hands so they must be holding it with to upgrade and maintain the effect, by training the effect can become permanent. Kwayzar Kwayzar

Poison Cooking: Doesn’t matter what it is, or if you only add salt to it but don’t actually cook it, any food made by you is inexplicably highly poisonous and quite deadly. This ability is located in the hands and is always active, it doesn’t matter if you wear gloves or something since touching the food is not necessary is the act of adding something to it or mixing, etc. that is required for it to ruin any meal. You still haven’t developed immunity to your own poison so I recommend you to be careful. The school has an antidote, if the victim survives enough time to be injected with it. After a lot of training you will be capable of producing poison energy from your hands and be able to shoot poison beams. NightMovez NightMovez

Morpheus Eyes: This magical ability allows you to put someone to sleep, is located on your eyes and they must see them in order for the ability to work. The downside is that after a few seconds you also get knocked out. If you train with this you’ll realize that you can actually go into their dreams and have control over them, that’s why you instinctively knocked yourself out, after learning that you can stay awake if you want to.

Bonded Words: Any promise made directly to you must be kept, however since it is located on your ears you must be able to hear the promise being made. It’s impossible not to fulfill what is promised, the person will have to do it since their body will make them do it. If they become unable to do it (because it’s impossible or they’re locked up), they’ll suicide and if they can’t suicide they’ll just have a heart attack and die. pinnasina pinnasina

Replicator: After touching an object you will be able to create functional copies of it out of nowhere and control them with your mind. It’s located on your hands and you must have touched the object before being able to create copies of it, furthermore the mental control is only made doing hand signals. It will require a lot of training before being able to replicate you, animals or others but is not impossible, however you’ll never be able to replicate the elements. You can only control 6 copies at the same time for now Neo Alice Neo Alice
Contractual Powers: A Faustian deal of sorts, the person has a powerful ability but has to pay an equally high price in order to obtain it first. With who or what is the deal made? No one knows since it’s not made consciously, which results in poor children resentful of an unwanted gift that looks more like a curse than anything else. They have already paid the price at the start of the RP.

Vocalist: You’ll have a beautiful voice, unforgettable and very calming that could shatter even bulletproof glass if you screamed. You could even be a famous singer, if you wanted to. The price you pay for this voice: your eyesight. Yet, you won’t need it since the rest of your senses are magically enhanced as well. You can analyze someone by the sounds they make and be aware your surroundings by echolocation.

Telepath: The power to hear people’s thoughts and share your own into their heads, you can create powerful illusions or look inside of their minds to unveil their darkest secrets. The price? Your voice, that’s right you can’t physically talk anymore. Tamriel Tamriel

Potion Brewing: The ability to mix ingredients to create a magical substance, you have to give up two of your senses: Smell and Taste to pay for this power. (Is up to you how will these potions work and their effects, be creative) proiettile proiettile

Gorgon: You went bald and later got snakes instead of hair, your skin became pale and with scales. The magic ability itself however is located in your eyes and allows you to turn into statues to whoever looks directly at them. This power is paid with your physical beauty and human appearance. OrWangatan OrWangatan
Fading Powers: Powerful abilities that eventually take away the way to be used, the users are usually restricted from practicing their magic and are taught the risks that comes with it. Unless is an emergency users are prohibited from using their power, you’re allowed to break this rule if you want but make sure that nobody is watching or you’ll get in trouble.

Spellcasting: A powerful ability that allows the user to affect reality to a degree with specific voiced spells, the more it is used the more the caster will start losing their voice until they can’t speak anymore. (You can use this power up to 25 times before you can’t speak anymore, I recommend you to study/create powerful spells that are worth this kind of sacrifice.) Kent Kent

Healing: You can accelerate the process of a healing wound on someone other than yourself but this shortens your own lifespan. (This character would have lived a long life of 80 years, since they’re 15 but lost 15 on experimentations during their time on the compound then they have 50 years to spare until dying. Minor wounds will cost you 1 year, medium ones 5 and grave ones 10.) Clouds Clouds

Psychosomatic Illusions: You can affect someone that looks into your eyes with powerful illusions that will feel real for them and will produce real damage on their bodies, however you’ll lose eyesight every time until becoming entirely blind. (You can use this power up to 20 times before needing glasses to barely see and then you’ll have other 10 until becoming blind) Czeshire Czeshire

Shapeshifter: You have the ability to transform into any animal of your choosing, eventually you won’t be able to transform back into a human anymore. You’ll become the animal and eventually forget you were even human. (You can transform up to 40 times before you get stuck.)

Cocytus.(Infinite.Dendrogram).full.2525070.png

Full Name: Eve Aviva

Nationality: You may say she’s American.

Age: 15

Year: Initiated.

Personality: A cold indifferent girl, being raised by the scientist themselves has made her distrust any adult around her. She doesn’t feel affection or empathy towards others and usually says what she thinks without holding back, no matter who may get hurt. She doesn’t trust the Academy since she doesn’t like to be incarcerated again but it’s better than the compound, at least no one injects her with drugs here. She often forgets her name since it was only given to her last year.

Type of Power: Localized

Name of Power: Replicator.

Background: Her mother got kidnapped when she was still pregnant; the moment she gave birth to her the scientist vivisected her to figure out any difference between a witch and a human biological process of reproduction. Since that day the girl was subdued to numerous tests and exams to try to activate her magical ability by force, she only got it after being 14 as any other kid would and until then she didn’t even had a name aside from “test subject”. They were marveled to see she could copy an apple after touching it but this proved she was too dangerous to be allowed to remain with general population on the compound and was sedated, restrained with chains and kept in a water tank with an oxygen mask so she could not try to escape from them or hurt them. The first thing she touched after being free was one big shard of glass that remained from the tank she had being prisoner in, no one would ever trap her again.

Trivia: Both her name and last name are Palindromes; some scientist thought it would be cool. Also "Eve" comes from being the first girl raised by them.

Full Name: Keigo Sasaki

Nationality: Japanese

Age: 15

Year: Initiated

Personality: Keigo is a sweet and caring boy that would go through a lot to help those he cares about. He also very shy and thinks way too much on compliments. The experiments didn't mess with him a lot. He is still sane, but it did make him terrified of needles. He doesn't know if he can trust the Academy or not. He does, however, know that they saved him from the experiments, so he's grateful.

Type of Power: Contractual

Name of Power: Telepath

Background: After Keigo's power activated he started to use it a lot. He wanted to know everyone's thoughts and what they're really thinking. He mostly used it on people he knew, but soon he started using it on random people. One day, he learned he could also share his thoughts with people. He started sharing his thoughts and he didn't mean to make people upset. People started complaining about there being voices in their head and it got unwanted attention. The scientists watched the whole city and studied it until they found out it was Keigo. They kidnapped him when he was alone after he used his power on one of them. He couldn't scream for help because of his voice. The scientists made him try and guess they're thoughts. Soon, it ended up with them making him create illusions in other captive's minds. He didn't want to, but they threatened him with needles, which he became terrified of. He was very happy when he got out. He didn't know if he could trust the academy, but he was happy that he might make new friends.

Trivia: His first and last name is a reference to Mha.

Full Name: Eira Park-Snedronningen

Nationality: Korean/Danish

Age: 15

Year: Initiated

Personality: She has a bubbly personality, it's very surprising that she still maintains that persona after the trauma she suffered. However, she started to feel jumpy and nervous after the rescue. She experienced constant nightmares or flashbacks in which she tried hard to forget. The rescue was a miracle for her, she owes the Academy a lot. She feels safe inside those walls, with people who shared the same experiences as her, however, she thinks she can't fully trust the Academy yet.

Type of Power: Localized

Name of Power: Ice Palms

Background: She loved her powers. At first, she kept it to herself, only using it on special occasions, soon she started being more open. She used to make Ice sculptures for little kids in her neighborhood, it was small, yet it made the kids smile. It became bigger as time passes, soon she made a small winter wonderland at the neighborhoods playground, it was covered in snow, it was snowing to be specific, the ugly plastic slide turned in to ice, there were Ice sculptures the size of a house surrounding the playground, the problem is, it was in the middle of summer. It was fun, the children loved it, all fun ended when one kid slipped and fell on his head. News spread fast, it was covered in every news channel, every news site, it was out in everybody's mouth, the mothers of the children forbade them to never speak to her again. That's when the scientist found out, they kidnapped her when she was sitting alone in the winter wonderland she made, snow still falling down, she didn't even have the chance to look up when it all turned black. All she remembered from the lab was needles, there was one, then there were two, then three, then four, then five, then she couldn't count them anymore. They made her freeze things, it was only small objects, then it became bigger until they made her freeze living things. She couldn't forget that part, it still haunts her till this day, the screams and cries they made while the Ice swallows them whole. Then a miracle happened, they saved her, she's finally free.

Full Name: Lorena Isabela Villanueva

Nationality: Venezuelan

Age: 15

Year: Initiated. (Classroom Representative)

Personality: A serious and responsible girl, she likes to have fun like everyone else but not at the expense of being careless. This is because of her time in the compound where she became more mature and acted as a mother figure for some of the kids. Before she was kidnapped she was a quite problematic girl, to the point of getting someone killed from her recklessness. She trusts that now that they’re all together along with other witches they’ll learn how to use their powers for good things. She keeps a false emotional strength to give everyone a sense of security and not worrying them unnecessarily since she’s the one supposed to protect them but after all the trauma she has endured she could break at any moment.

Type of Power: Localized.

Name of Power: Water Palms

Background: Lorena is an only child that was mainly raised by her mother since her father was usually on business trips. She was a typical teenage girl that skipped classes from time to time and never gave too much attention to her studies; however she was not just a typical teenager since when she turned 14 her powers manifested. She could not believe it at first but she could make water appear out of nowhere and control it however she wanted to, she dipped her toes on water a few times with hopes she would be a mermaid like in one of her favorites shows but nothing happened. “Bueno, no es como si haya ido en realidad a la isla Mako con luna llena.” (“Well, it’s not like I’ve actually gone to Mako Island with a full moon.”) She said disappointed, she still had a neat power though.

She got into a bad crew that led her through a wrong and dark path on her life that she prefers not to remember. After a few crimes in where witnesses noticed water being alive and moving apparently to the command of a girl, the scientist started to investigate until capturing her. Trying to escape from the kidnappers she accidently caused the death of one of her friends by miscalculating the force and angle of one of her attacks, his skull ended up cracking against a wall. This traumatized her enough to give the scientist an advantage and take her while she was on shock. To atone for that guilt she became a moral support for the other kids and often gave them comfort after their tests and exams.

At first the test were simple, create water or move it from one place to the other, these first tests were actually educational for her since she discovered that not only she could control pure water but also liquids that had water on them. But eventually she was forced to control water into the lungs of animals and then humans, drowning them in the process. She could not be happier the day she was rescued, since now they could all go home, she was shocked to know that they would have to stay on the Academy but understood that this was for their own safety. She postulated herself, or rather just became, the class representative to keep protecting the kids.

Trivia: I’m Venezuelan but aside from a nationality she and i don’t really share much hahahaha. Also, the show referenced on the Background is “H2O Just Add Water”.

full name ► sheridan de leon. intimate friends would call her sherry or dani, but the only person applicable to that category's long dead. instead, all of the kids just know her as subject sixty-six.
nationality ► filipino.
ethnicity ► filipino-american.
age ► fifteen years old.

year ► initiate.
power type ► localized.
power ► bonded words - any promise made directly to her must be kept. however, since it is located in her ears, she must be able to hear the promise being made. it's impossible not to fulfill what is being promised; the person will have to do it since their body will force them to do it. if they are incapable of fulfilling their promise (ie. it's an impossible promise or they're locked up), they will off themselves. if the former isn't possible, they will be inflicted with a heart attack and die.

personality ► sheridan would best describe herself as a psychopath, the harmful type: manipulative, self-serving, unfeeling, heartless. only psychopaths would prioritize their own well-being, even if it came at the expense of the others. only monsters, such as herself, would willingly kill their own kin just to secure their existence.

still, it must be said that self-diagnoses aren't always accurate.

while it's true that she's always been on the pragmatic side, she's not truly heartless. she simply accepst that idealism and morality have no place in dangerous situations. her survival must come first, and that usually entails locking away her emotions and humanity for a little bit.

however, since her time at the compound, she's been doubting herself. what if she had held on? what if she had covered her ears instead and drowned out their promises? would her sister have been alive to see this? it's unlike her to be so sentimental, but the sudden change in her circumstances has left her indecisive and unsteady.

on another note, it isn't wrong to say that she has a talent for deceit and manipulation. sheridan's default has always been charm and subterfuge, something that the scientists capitalized heavily on so that her power could see more use. whil it's true that she's trying to be more honest with the others in the hopes of gaining their trust, old habits die hard.

goals and motivations
► to acclimate to her life at salem academy.
► to befriend the other survivors of the compound.
► to find out her parents' fates.
► to retrieve her sister's corpse and give her a proper burial.

background ► [disclaimer, just in case: mentions of suicide and torture up ahead.]
when the couple, sherman and daniela, had the twins, sheridan and manuela, they believed that the children could mend their already-fragile marriage. a year down the line, they unfortunately found out that no, it could not. still, they vowed to stick it out with one another until the the girls were much older and likely more understanding of their situation. at the very least, they wanted to present a united front for the sake of these two young and impressionable girls.

that is, until manuela, ten years old at the time, spotted their mother romantic with another man. manuela, bright, brash and bullheaded, had vehemently confronted their mother until the woman relented and carefully explained the true situation of their family dynamics to the two. suffice it to say, manuela did not take the news well.

sheridan, on the other hand, while betrayed, accepted her mother's reasoning, and only asked for her mother's word that she would continue to stay with them despite it all.

but that promise was broken. a year later, the ex-couple announced that they were going to live apart from one another but that they could still see one another if they wished to. nevertheless, all sheridan could think of was the promise broken. to sheridan, this was the greater betrayal.

at the very least, however, she still had her father and sister, right? although he was becoming a lot more busy, she was at least having fun with her twin and their newfound friends who all had a few problems in the family themselves.

she finally found people, outside of manuela, to trust and relate to. it was fun ranting to one another, promising to one another, and hanging out with one another. until news of three of the kids from their group hanging themselves came up. that part wasn't so fun.

authorities attempted an investigation to determine whether this was a possible serial killing but turned up no new leads. (it should be noted that it was during this time when the de leon family gained the attention of the compound.)

sherman, wanting to protect the two from any possible backlash from the event, sent the twins to live with one of his friends in pasay, promising to come back to them soon. sheridan, doubting that with their current finances, asked for his promise to visit them for their fifteenth birthday.

during the time away from their father, manuela was getting into fights. sheridan, on the other hand, was engaging in a different kind of trouble altogether. she's discovered her knack for manipulation. (in truth, this manipulation of hers is partly her power at work.)

she believed that the concerningly deep loyalty her peers had towards her was simply due to her natural charisma. a blessing, she had thought then. but when news of another string of deaths far too close to home cropped up, she wondered if she was cursed. but those deaths couldn't be because of her, right?

now, the branch assigned to the philippines had been keeping an eye on the de leon family for the past few months now, but the sudden spike in deaths surrounding the family had confirmed their suspicions: one (or both) of the children had awakened.

it wasn't long before the two were taken and shipped off to the compound.

there, the two were separated into sterile rooms. the assistants poked and prodded, hoping that it would trigger a fatal ability in either of the two. when nothing seemed to worked, they quickly moved on to painful methods.

the researchers at the compound had long posited that stress was the greatest trigger for powers. and the more extreme it was, the greater the reaction. suffice it to say, the scientists didn't hold back.

during this torturous phase, one individual took pity on the children stuck at the compound. although they didn't have enough power to free the whole compound, they at least wanted to save a couple of children, and included in those numbers were sheridan and manuela. unwittingly, they promised to sheridan that they would help them escape in a few days.

sheridan, seeing her opportunity agrees and prepares herself in her cell. unfortunately, a hiccup arose. the individual didn't have the right access codes to her cell. just as they were about to leave, however, they suddenly and frantically searched through the tables. for a moment, she believed them to be looking for a way to free her. instead, they brought out a gun and pointed it to their head.

and that's when things started to click for her. it takes her some time, but she comes to the conclusion that statements said to her must be fulfilled. death awaits those who fail to follow their word.

which means... all those deaths, her friends, those people who casually made promises to her, her parents... but that wasn't the time to dwell on it.

what matters is that she now has something to bargain with. she brings it up with one of the scientists, first asking for the woman's promise to not harm her or her sister to test out her hypothesis before divulging her discoveries.

she had hoped that by doing this, she could get on their good side and secure leniency for her and manuela, but no such luck.

once the compound learned her secret from the scientist, they experimented on the twins, particularly leaning on manuela to find out if being twins had any correlation to power awakenings and whether manuela shared her powers. not even their informant's suicide could dampen their spirits.

sheridan knew that she messed up. that would have been tolerable if manuela hadn't been caught in the crossfire. she didn't need to hear manuela's screams to confirm that her sister was suffering. and if she made any attempts to rebel, they would double down on manuela.

after a few months of testing and experiments, she was finally allowed to share a few moments with manuela as a 'reward' for all her 'good' behavior.

the sight of manuela, battered and listless, was no reward, only a reminder of her failure. and that's when she decided that she must do the only thing available to her.

she comforted manuela with whispered promises of their escape, their dreams, their future, and impossible things. manuela did the same. manuela quickly went into a frenzy in an attempt to kill herself. once she was restrained, it wasn't long before she had a heart attack and died.

she isn't left much time to mourn because the scientists are quick to put her back on the wheel for their experiments. this time, however, they focus their efforts into indoctrinating her. her ability, after all, would make for a useful tool in controlling their test subjects.

and it isn't too long before she gave in. that being said, this does not make her popular with the other prisoners, especially after an inmate is shown succumbing to her abilities. her designated number soon becomes synonymous to a punishment.

the children's torture would soon find its end once the salem academy rescues the children from captivity.

sheridan, unfortunately, isn't sure of how to feel about this all.
age at kidnapping ► fourteen years and four months old.
length of stay at the compound ► one year and five months.

trivia
► favorite color: baby pink is at the top of her list. pastel shades follow that. unless it's yellow. she hates yellow.
► she's (probably) less high-maintenance than her hair.
► sheridan's current obsession is psychology. she enjoys reading about the different mental illnesses and personality disorders and loves to flaunt her knowledge on the subject.
► sheridan's won a fair number of child beauty pageants back in her province and takes great pride in it, even if all the efforts were spearheaded by her mom.
► the topic of her sister remains a sore spot for her. If you'd rather not have to talk to her, bringing manuela up is the quickest way to get her to nope out of there.

Full Name: Aiden Millers

Nationality
: American

Age
: He's never been much of a numbers guy. Or a math guy really in general. He usually counts his age by the birthdays celebrated this year. Currently, he's 15 birthdays old.

Year: It was only this year that they rescued him from that nightmare. He's pretty sure he just Initiated this school year.

Personality: To prepare one Aiden Miller, just add two cups of childlike innocence and half a cup of pure optimism. Let the ingredinets sit for about 14 minutes and gather room temperature. Once done, add a dash of telekinesis and a pinch of arrogance. Mix the ingredients well until you have that goopy and mushy texture. After that, preheat the oven to about 350°F and set the torture meter to high. While you're there, pour the batter into an aluminum pan that's been greased. Bake it for about a minute or so and voila, you have yourself one Aiden Miller. The ingredients must have melted away by now, giving way to new ones such as sarcasm and paranoia, although the optimism is still there, annoying as that is, but still overall great dish.

Type of Power: Localized

Name
of Power: Telekinesis

Background
: In another world or another time, Aiden would have become the loyal best friend of the main protagonist. The kind who would never get a route and be stuck as an NPC forever. But then, a hand reached out. Well, not really a hand but something else entirely: his powers.

Or more accurately, telekinesis.

His life turned around when he returned home, exhausted from school and it's troubles. Many felicitations were handed out to him as cheap Christmas cards in regards to his age.. He didn't really care though as all he had wanted then was to hit the hay. If only he knew what was coming his way.

It was in the middle of the night that the first omen appeared. He'd awoken to a parched throat and an achy body. Turning his head slightly, he could see the glass of water he'd always prepare before sleep. He was too sleepy to pick it up and in his half-dazed delirium, he felt a cooling sensation at his lips as the cup was lifted towards his mouth and to his ever-grateful throat. Eyelids heavy, he drifted back to a dreamless sleep.

Morning came and he found the cup he'd prepared the night before spilled on the floor, empty. He stared at it confused, then recalled the dream he'd had the night before. Was that really a dream? He decided to confide in his friends about this. However, upon hearing his table at lunch, they dismissively laughed at his tale. He blushed furiously before gulping it down and laughing too, thoroughly embarassed. He didn't forget about it though.

The next instance was at the park in a secluded forest his friends had chosen to hang out at in honor to his belated birthday. He'd chosen to do some sightseeing that morning and walk around alone for a bit when he spotted a nearby kite. It was stuck neatly high up in the treetops, far beyond normal human's reach. Lost in thought as he was, he half-wished and half thought to climb up and get it. Not a moment later did it happen, when he saw something pull at the kite. No animal he could see was there. Suddenly, he was reminded of his old days when he used to be super interested in magic and magician. The first reminiscence he thought of an old magician who'd been levitating seemingly with the power of his mind. Of course, some bewildered scientists sought to find out if he really did have powers. He didn't (obviously) and his career took a massive hit.

That wasn't important though, at least in regards to this story for the day. No, more importantly, he wondered if he could actually be a real 'levitating man'. Of course this time he didn't bother to tell his friends at the moment, excited as he was, but he did spend much more time on his 'walk'. At first, he thought after multiple trials and errors in a secluded clearing that his power was only activated if could see them.

He would them. He would show them all. And it just so happens that a talent show was up in school, starting eight o' clock sharp. By the night of the show, he enters in full magician costume with a conducter's stick in hand. He watched as the curtain fell and he saw countless faces. Bowing, he raised his baton and waved. Immediately, music played and whenever a crescendo reached he would raise his hand and concentrate on a chair and making it lift in tandem to the music. Even the judges were surprised themselves as their chair lifted at the end the song.

The media went into an uproar after as they witnessed firsthand the orchestra of chairs. He went on a roll as late night talk shows would feature him talking about his bewildering act, depicting a video of him orchestrating the chairs. Of course, some scientists caught wind of it, piquing the interest of all kinds on how you could lift up the chairs of the entire auditorium. And so, to the great mystery of many, the man of the hour went disappeared unannounced after missing a talk show.

He would never see another talk show after that though, as he woke up to blinding light and a bed that felt similar to an operating table. Sleep overtook him once again as a mask was forced into his mouth. The next time he awoke, he saw the dingy cell they put him in, starting his new life here as a test subject.

He rebelled constantly against the researchers after that, believing in his hear that if he tried hard enough he would escape, that they would let him go. But no, instead they turned to more cruel methods, such as leaving to starve in the room until he did as they were told. He remembered the choking despair as what he though a year had passed and still no help came. He had contemplated taking his life when finally, a few months later, his knights in shining armor came.

Trivia:
-has a tattoo he'd hidden from his parents on his right arm on a dare by his friends.
-downright terrified of snakes

Full Name: Fox Soruka

Nationality: Born in Canada, moved to America at a decently young age. Mother was Japanese, father was Canadian-Russian (or just French Russian. or something)

Age: 15

Year: Initiated

Personality:

Soruka is, in lack of a better term, an interesting child. He was a constant problem, before the experiments, and whatnot. He almost constantly had a stupid, little smirk on him, and looked around with incredible interest in everything and anything. Yet he didn't examine it further, relying solely on his sight and hearing from afar. He's a bit rambunctious, and still doesn't really know how to control himself... yet. Personally, he hates being called Fox, and prefers the name Soruka by far. Or Soru. Or something other than Fox, because of those damn experiments, the... testers? Government? Scientists? Whatever they are, they called him 'their little fox', although the only names he remembers are Fox and Shizuka, turning it into Soruka. Those experiments effected him heavily, and making him the smiling, cynical person you all know and love! Now, with the academy, he sees it as a new place to experiment with his powers, and possibly new sources for ingredients for his potions.

Type of Power: Contractual

Name of Power: POTION BREWING

Background:

Life is the most fragile when being kidnapped. Or when nearly destroying your arm. Both are equal answers in the eyes of Fox Soruka. He had been in highschool, yes. Frequently getting into a bit of a scrape during highschool, he was the target of bullying, for what reason other than he was a bit of a clutz. His family was broken to no extent, with his mother traveling the country, buying illegal products as she ran from the police, and his father... well, he went to go get some milk. He lived by himself, almost being homeless as he lived from the small paycheck to small paycheck. That is, until the moment he discovered his powers, a full week after his 14th birthday. After a recent bullying attempt, he was bleeding a tinge, so he decided to lay down for a bit. As the blood dripped onto a blade of grass, it changed into a growing vine, expanding where it was rooted. As it grew, the vine sucked the life from the grass in a small radius, before dying, and crumbling into ash. That's when he began his notebook, a list of concoctions and brews that have different effects. The bullying persisted, and they decided to snag said notebook, and read through it. At that moment, Soruka snapped. He had already been bleeding, but he used spit, and his own blood, to create what had started this; a vine. It wasn't one drop, but much more. The vine leeched to those bullies, and dragged them into the ground, as most of the grass within a few 100 feet withered away. Soon after, he was abducted from his own home, through sedation, and being dragged into a lengthy van with tinted windows. What happened from that point to when he arrived at the Compound, Soruka doesn't remember in the slightest.

The Compound, at first, wasn't that bad. Simple tests to check his abilities, like creating... potions, persay. Potion could work for a name for them... anyway, they began testing what he could actually do. Within the first week, they had come up with a list of bodily fluids that could be used for those potions, and their effectiveness, listed here;

SALIVA - Good for smaller, and quicker potions.

SWEAT - Same as saliva.

BLOOD - Most powerful in liquids, used for powerful potions.

As the tests continued, they began to test what would happen if they mixed the blood of other patients and Soruka's blood. Through doing this, they found something amazing; the replication of powers, albeit they aren't permanent. Whoever drank that potion had that power for 11 minutes, before it disappearing. Now, being the sadistic pricks they are, they forced Soruka to drink his own concoction. On that day, he lost all feeling in his left arm, and somehow killed 6 guards and 8 scientists. The blood was mixed with a recently dead subject that had fire abilities, yet they found a way to make it incredibly powerful, and gave it to Soruka. He didn't even attempt to use it, because his arm was engulfed in flames, as it shot towards the scientists. The first of many cynical smiles formed on Soruka's face at that moment. After that, the tests just got worse, and worse. They started using organs of animals, parts of corpses, and then began to go to live humans to test on. Continuing to watch the suffering of others, he continued to be the force that caused it, and created more potions. The odd thing is, during his entire time in the compound, and before he came in, he couldn't smell a thing, or taste anything. The moment that he was 'saved', he was simply sitting down, writing things down in a notebook he called Kusuri, as every recipe for potions he had tested within the Compound and in the world, he had remembered and wrote down, minus the one that destroyed his arm.

Trivia:

- Soruka had a pet before he was kidnapped, a raccoon named Shizuka. (japanese for quiet, or peaceful.) He had taken care of it for most of his life, alone. Current where-abouts are unknown.

- Oh, yeah. He likes Pokemon.

Full Name: Vera Sokolov

Nationality: Russian-American

Age: 15

Year: Initiated

Personality: Before she was taken to the Compound, Vera was a happy, joyful girl. She never showed those she cared about that she was having a hard time and looked for fun in whatever she did. She didn't look down on others if their situation was unfavorable and would even become an ear to their problems if she had the time. She was also pretty mischievous, making new rules to the games she was playing in her head when she was running from shop owners/workers and the cops who were called on her. But this didn't stop her from making friends with these people either, which confused those who looked in on their relationship. Vera never stopped smiling. But after she was caught by those associated with the Compound, Vera became a rebellious and angered girl. Because of all the tests, experiments, and the uncomfortable conditions she was forced to endure, she began fearing those with any sort of authority and doctors in general, which then led to her having problems with those that she feared. Her time in the Compound has also made her have trust issues, never knowing who was actually on her side and who only wanted to use her for the ability she didn't ask for. This, in turn, makes her uneasy being in the Academy full of strangers whom she doesn’t know the intentions of. But she has a deep loyalty to the others who were in the compound and will do anything for them, even if that means going to the Academy without too much trouble. They are her family. Vera is also, despite her prickly exterior, prone to loneliness due to the constant behavioral therapy she endured at the Compound, so she makes sure she is around at least one of the others who shared time with her in the Compound. Vera is also slightly paranoid, so she's always looking over her shoulder if she feels uneasy. It's usually settled just by being close to someone else, though, so she tends to stay in a room with at least two other people.

Type of Power: Contractual

Name of Power: Vocalist

Background: Vera was born in the small town of Volchansk, Russia to her Russian mother. Her American father had fled the country, not wanting to take responsibility for his drunken escapades during his college years. Her mother was heartbroken, but she would tell her daughter that those feelings were blown away the first time Vera smiled up at her without a care in the world. She swore there and then that she would provide as good a life as she could for the bundle of joy that had appeared in her life. So, she dropped out of school and started working in a café full time to get a better apartment and everything she needed for a growing child. But, despite her mother's best efforts, Vera can remember most of her early childhood meals being the leftovers that the owner of the café let her mother take home for her. So, when she was old enough to notice that she could take things, she began stealing for the things she needed.
Vera only stole irrelevant things at first: cheap candy, small toys, and the small bottles of hand sanitizer that could be found within her reach in the aisles of the stores her mother often frequented. She was caught quite often, but since she was still a child, she was slapped on the wrist and sent back on her way with her mother. This quick scold and go allowed her to practice stealing these small items and pick up techniques that would have otherwise been lost to the small child. As she gained more experience, and grew a little older, she began stealing things that her mother had mentioned she needed to buy when she got paid: toothbrushes and toothpaste, snacks to tide themselves over since actual meals were more expensive, and small articles of clothing such as socks, gloves, and single pairs of undergarments.
Her mother had noticed the sudden increase of goods that she didn't buy, but she never questioned her daughter on it. She would never admit it aloud, but it helped out quite a bit in saving money for emergencies. So, she just acted like she had just forgotten she had bought it, silently encouraging Vera's behavior. This, in turn, caused Vera to up her risk by taking whole frozen dinners, full outfits, and toiletry products that she noticed that her mother needed to buy but hadn't gotten around to it. She began getting caught less too as she began reading the staff's emotions and, in turn, their awareness. Each mood signaled what she would be able to steal from that specific store that she was targeting. But when they started noticing that things started going missing whenever Vera was around, she had to change strategies. She switched to pickpocketing.
It was a whole new set of skills that she didn't realize she didn't have until her first failed attempt. She had gotten beaten by her target and had returned home with multiple scratches and bruises that her mother freaked out over. Vera just brushed it off as roughhousing at school taken too far and allowed her to clean her up before they ate and went to bed. After which, Vera began practicing pickpocketing using methods she found on the internet at the library. (She couldn't believe that the information for successful breaking of the law would be so readily available.) Once she felt she had a good grasp of how it was done, she started targeting less noticeable people first: homeless, druggies, and drunks. They didn't have a lot on them, but she worked with what she could do. They allowed for excellent practice and soon, she moved onto those who were doing slightly better in life than her mother and she was doing. Again, not all her attempts ended in raring success, but more times than not, she got what she wanted. She was, however, getting noticed by the regular law enforcement that were often called about a pickpocketing child.
But with patience, comes reward. When Vera was eight, she was the little queen of the streets. She could swipe anything with practiced grace and evaded her pursers like a fleeing feline. But she didn't care, because her mother was smiling a lot more and they even moved into a better apartment building in a better part of town. She was still going to the rundown school she had been going to since she was first old enough to attend, but she had promised her mother that she would graduate so she could make a better life than the one her mother had provided. But Vera didn't mind her life, living with her mother and forming odd friendships with those she stole from. While she could see things getting better in the future, the small child who had grown up pretty quickly due to awful circumstances, was happy. And she never failed to show it; always smiling in front of her mother, school teachers, and targets so they never thought she was actually worried about anything. She was just a normal, thieving kid who played tag with her targets when she was found out for a little extra fun in this unfortunate job of hers.
But all good things must come to an end, and for Vera, the end came fast. She had noticed her vision getting a little blurry after her tenth birthday, but she never paid it any mind until what should have been an easy and successful snack run ended with her running straight into the shop owner because it just so happened to be getting dark outside. She was taken in for the attempted theft, her mother was called, and she was sent on her way with a worrying glance in all directions. She couldn't understand why her vision seemed less than it had, but she was too young to understand that this was something you needed to tell, so she kept it to herself. She kept this slowly blurring secret until she ran straight into one of her odd officer friends after a sloppy pickpocket and, instead of running off like she would have done, she apologized and just walked right on past thinking she was in the clear. So, naturally, the officer reported this to her mother, and the next day, she was seeing an eye doctor and was given glasses.
They helped, for a time, but nothing the doctors or her mother did made her eyes any better. They just slowly decayed without any sign of stopping until it did...but it didn't stop with any semblance of sight. It stopped when Vera was surrounded in complete, void-filled darkness. She was completely blind by the age of thirteen and there was no explanation from the doctors as to why. It was unlike anything they had ever seen. At the end, they could only apologize to the now blind newly turned teenager and her sobbing mother, wishing their condolences and good wishes for the future. Vera didn't understand why it had happened to her, but she had kept up her smile so her mother wouldn't worry, instead inquiring about methods to adjust to her new circumstances and making them better. She, of course, had to stop her little side job of thievery, which led to them moving back into the rundown apartment with awful security because of the medical bills from all the doctor visits they had to go to for the teen.
Vera was just getting well adjusted to this new life of hers when her fourteenth birthday began drawing closer. When she clicked her tongue, she could see...kind of...what was around her. After a few more tests of this in different angles and positions, she figured she had gained echolocation. She didn't understand how or way, but it made moving around a lot easier, so she felt more free than she had the past year. She had morphed into a kind of bat girl, and she was proud of this fact. She could start her job again and help support her mother more! And that's what she did. She didn't have a care for who might be watching her from the shadows the more she used this one aspect of a newfound power, letting her guard down more than she ever did when she could see colors instead of blurry, disappearing shapes. And of course her guard dropped further when she found out she could coerce others into just simply giving her what she wanted by asking in that sweet tone she had practiced using to gain sympathy as a blind girl. So now she was a bat-siren girl. Again, didn't make sense to her, but she was thankful that she was able to help her mother once more.
But, she soon realized she should have been more cautious; should have been more self aware. When her fourteenth birthday came, her newfound abilities hit her full force, and she felt like she was invincible. So, she went out to do something she had never done before: rob a bank. She easily talked the teller into filling a bag with cash, as if she was just withdrawing from her own account, and was walking out the door with a giant smile on her face with everything went radio silent. When she woke up, she was in a room unfamiliar to her with the only way out being a locked door that only those...demons could come through.
Time began passing as if in a blur. They asked her a multitude of questions, getting angry if she didn't know the answers or refused to respond. But they never answered her questions of what was happening and where her mother was. Then it was on to the tests of what she was currently capable of, and then pushing her to develop those abilities further. Her echolocation became clearer and was able to reach farther as what she came to realize later as her magical ability developed and became stronger. Her voice was not only able to bewitch and seduce anyone she targeted, but was also able to shatter anything they wanted. She was able to faintly tell where someone was and their physical height by the faintest of sounds and she was told that they hoped she would be able to pick up emotions as well if they pushed her far enough. As these seemingly repeating painful days passed and began mixing and melding together, Vera was able to determine that there were others like her in her confinement. And she began to treasure them, wondering if they were okay as well. Knowing that they were there helped the young Russian girl stay as sane as she could through the growing fear that accompanied the pain and suffering they conflicted at their whims. She would only be in that small cell-like room for a year, but her fear of what was happening and the seemingly constant pain had warped the once kind and upbeat girl. She would start refusing to answer their questions or use her power so they couldn't make progress. She became easily angered and never very joyous around those who were responsible for making sure she didn't completely break. She became closed in, guarded with a thick steel fence with iron spikes that no one could enter except those she deemed family: those others who were in the same situation as her.
By the time the Witches had rescued them from what Vera would later call the Compound, she was almost completely mute. She wouldn't stand close to those who had supposedly rescued her, but instead standing next to one of the other captives. She followed, but when she found out that instead of returning home, they were being brought somewhere else all together, she grew outraged. She tried escaping, not wanting to go through something so awful again, but, needless to say, it didn't work. She was stuck there, behaving as well the fear-driven angered girl could as she stayed away from anyone who wasn't with her in the Compound; a glare forever holding a place in her eyes.

Trivia: Vera, despite her power, doesn’t speak often. She’s seen the fascination and obsession that followed it, so she stopped using it. But she does talk to those who she considers family: those of the Compound who were rescued with her.
Her eyes glow when she puts full focus into her magical sense. She can’t explain it, but they do. Luckily, she doesn’t go full out often, so people won’t ask her about it.
Vera is an empath, even if she doesn't show it. Even if she doesn't trust you or even like you, she doesn't want to see anyone in pain. So she'll do her best to cheer you up...Indirectly, of course.
The Russian is a slight kleptomaniac, thanks to her constant stealing to get by in Russia. She can't help it.
Vera does have a slight Russian accent, seeing as that is where she spent fourteen years of her life. It was quickly beaten out of her, however, when those at the Compound strongly encouraged English instead.
The magic that flows through her blood comes from her father's side of the family, which completely left Vera and her mother blindsided when it became vital.

Full Name: Vera Sokolov

Personality: Vera is a rebellious, angered girl. Her time in the compound has made her as such. She has problems with authority and as such, she isn’t okay with being in the Academy full of strangers whom she doesn’t know the intentions of. But she has a deep loyalty to the others who were in the compound and will do anything for them, even if that means going to the Academy without too much trouble. They are her family.

Type of Power: Contractual

Name of Power: Vocalist

Background: Vera was born between a Russian mother and an American father. She was, however, born on Russian soil, so that is where she lived with her mother. Her father was not keen on staying in a cold wasteland, after all. But Vera her mother were fine with that, swearing they didn’t need him. And that’s how they lived, though it was obvious there was only so much her mother could do as a full time waitress at a cafe. So, Vera turned to stealing.
It was only small things at first: toothbrushes, clothing, snacks. But as she got more practiced, she began taking bigger risks: frozen dinners, toys, cash from wallets and open cash registers. And while her mother didn’t approve of it, she didn’t speak out against it either, because every little bit helped. Vera even started making a game out of it; playing tag with the cops and shop owners. Of course, she still attended school because her mother was always telling her to finish school so she could have a better life than they had now.
She was happy with the life she had with her mother, and couldn’t see it getting any better, but then...her vision started fading. It kept getting worse day by day, and the doctors didn’t understand why. So her mother could only watch as her daughter slowly lost her sight at the young age of ten. And it wasn’t quick either: this decaying sight didn’t end until three years after it started, ending in total darkness for the now thirteen year old girl. But what she lost in sight, she gained in an awareness that she didn’t know was possible before. If she clicked her tongue, she turned into a bat with echolocation. If she told someone what she wanted, they gave it up without a fight. That reminded her of the sirens from the myths that her mother loved. She didn’t understand why this was happening, but she used it to her advantage.
Vera started taking even bigger risks and reaping the benefits. But with each risk, the watchful eye of those working in the Compound got more and more interested. But, of course she didn’t notice because she was able to move her mother into a nicer apartment with nicer things. Gave her a better life, which is the only thing Vera wanted. But, she did eventually get caught when she dropped her guard after getting over three thousand roubles from her latest risk. She didn’t scan the area by listening to the sounds like she normally would have, and that’s when those from the Compound snagged her when she was fourteen.
She was there for a full year after, suffering and hating the power she had developed. They pushed her to enrich her abilities. How far could she ‘see’ with her echolocation? How much could she ‘see’ with the magical sense that she had developed? What all could she read from differing sound waves? Could she read emotions from them? What about true intentions? Did people emit sound even when they weren’t speaking? All these tests, experiments, and simulations made her grow cold, distant, and hateful towards those with any sort of authority. She was then moved to the Academy when the Witches rescued those the Compound were experimenting on.

Full Name:
Curtis Chevalier

Nationality:
French

Age:
15

Year:
Initiated

Personality:
Quiet and meek, but with an underlying steel to his words that betray a sort of stony determination and the capacity for vicious anger. Quiet by nature, and introverted, he used to be more comfortable by himself than otherwise. Since the scientists, though, and everything they put him through, he’s found himself seeking out the company of others far more often. Mature and intelligent, but with a subdued silliness to his humour. He looks and acts older than his fifteen years; tends to fall into the dad friend role, and is the one that adults put in charge. He’s used to being the adult amongst children. Despite all this, though, he has a surprisingly fiery temper, the product of his power. He tries desperately to keep it under check, especially considering everything it’s done in the past, but it lashes out at the most innocuous of times. Because of this, he doesn’t like being inside - he gets jumpy and nervous, and crowded or cramped enclosed spaces cause him to panic.

The experiments made him more withdrawn than he was already, but also imbued him with a new want for company and comfort. He was alone for so long... He doesn’t like to talk about it, though, or think about it; he’s shelved it all away in a dark corner of his mind, and now tries to forget it ever happened at all. That’s how he treats most his problems, he pretends they don’t exist, meditates on them, hides them from himself and others. He doesn’t feel safe at the academy. He doesn’t really feel safe anywhere, now. He just wants to go home, but knows he has to take his time in going about it.

Appearance:
Tall and lanky, to the point of almost being awkward. Pronounced cheekbones and a long, hard nose. Very angular features, which make his eyes - soft and subdued - surprisingly incongruent. Looks older than he is.

Type of Power:
Localised

Name of Power:
Collapse

Background:
The oldest of three children who lived together in a small, squat-ish Paris flat. Their mother was long gone and their father deathly ill, rarely leaving his bedroom. They survived on government checks and part time jobs, with Curtis falling into the role of the main caretaker and role model for his younger brother and sister.

Though he had known about his power almost sincr he first got it (after a mishap at school, which was mistaken at the time for an accident) he never much cared for it. In fact, he grew older and realised it’s connection to his temperament he began to view it as a curse more than anything, putting himself and his family in danger and amplifying his emotions to an uncomfortable extent. He tried to hide it, keep it under lock and key, but when his father finally passed away Curtis snapped. He refused to let the authorities take his body, and the building came crashing down around them.

He doesn’t know anything that happened next - not even what happened to his siblings, whether they survived, whether they were getting along without him. He woke up somewhere new, sterile and foreign, and, grieving, swore to himself that he would never use his power again.

It didn’t work out like that.

The Compound forced everything he despised to the forefront. For 8 long months they kept him, watching him, prodding him and his insecurities. They told him his family was dead. That he’d killed them. That he was a monster. Every time, like clockwork, no matter how much he meditated and breathed and counted to a hundred, he’d snap. And feel the power bubbling in his veins. When they weren’t experimenting on him, he was locked up - sedated, most of the time, in a delirium somewhere between consciousness and sleep.

He’s in the Academy, now. He doesn’t want to be. He wants to get home, to find his little siblings and love them and protect them. But he’s smart, and he knows he has to be patient...for now.

Trivia:
He speaks English; it’s easier to get a job when you speak more than one language, after all.

Though he had known about his power since a fairly young age (after a mishap in primary school, which was mistaken at the time for an accident) he never much cared for it.

Does Lorena has a husband now? 7u7

Here's Addy, the arrogant and aggressive nerd.

a12e325ff59e6fa98c09e39cdb2c1f26.jpg

Full Name: Adell Park (Addy)

Nationality: Korean-American

Age: 15

Year: Initiated

Personality: Adell's an extremely arrogant brat caused by him being considered a genius since birth, academically and practically. With his arrogance also came aggression which didnt start off too bad until he was forced into the experiments cause that caused him to get so aggressive that most of the time he was heavily sedated. Although he is like this his arrogant nature is a coping mechanism for trust issues stemming from having abusive parents and betrayal, so people that he feels he can trust can often see his warm and vulnerable side. Currently since he was only initiated rather recently he dosent feel the most comfortable there and isnt too close to his peers at the moment.

Type of Power: Localized

Name of Power: Upgrade

Background: Adell was brought up in Korea so naturally he was forced to be great in school which was aleived to a certain point because he was naturally smart for his age but like any person he made mistakes so when ever he achieved anything below the best his parents abused him all sorts of ways for starvation to physical. In order to not anger his parents he over compensated forcing himself to over achieve losing days of sleep studying in order to retain his rank as number one and when ever he achieved #1 his parents treated him like a king, so naturally caused him to be a bit arrogant but it also made him less trusting of people thinking that someone can just change how they treat you in a split second just because you couldn't do what they asked scared him so he didn't manage to keep very many friends but when he did meet people he liked he pampered them.
On numerous occasions it had turned out that his "friends" were just using him, this caused him to get aggressive and made him amplifed his arrogance, treating people like the backstabbing trash he saw them as. Over the course of his life he maded many enemies, and getting tired of getting his nose broken he decided to train in multiple marital arts and work out rather frequently so he could kick the shit out of people looking to beat the shit out if him, of course this increased his arrogance and aggression since now he could back it up.

When he got the chance he joined a robotics club which sparked his interest in mechanical items. At the age of 13.5 Adell gained his magic called upgrade, it took him a short time to understand the limits of the ability and how it worked but when he got a hang of it, but the first thing he did was take action against his parents almost killing them when he semi tortured them, leaving them on deaths door he ran. While on the run Adell caused a lot of trouble throughout the city of Seoul most if not all of it involves him defending himself from a mugging or from being assaulted, he didnt kill anyone but did leave some disabled in multiple ways. The scientists caught wind of Adell and learned that his ability was roughly the power to enhance an objects properties, this was intriguing to the scientists so they captured Adell by keeping a eye on him for when he would enter an secluded area so that they could subdue him. Adell put up quite a fight even managing to severely injure 3 of the men trying to kidnap him until they used a tranquilizer gun on him.

Adell remained in the Scientists clutches for roughly a year and 4 months, in the time that Adell was there he had attempted to murder the kidnappers a total of 470 times, he had achieved this roughly 4 times killing a total of 10 Scientists and 6 guards. Because of Adells severe aggression he was heavily sedated for most of his time there, causing fire him to become more aggressive but also managed to cause slight memory problems reducing his intelligence to only above average, but during the times he wasn't as sedated the Scientists would run weapons tests for 2 purposes, to find out how amplified an object becomes when it comes into his contact, but also to have a milestone for their development team. Many times has this ended in Adell getting out of control, or him almost dieing from experimental weapons. Adell's cell had nothing in, and he wasn't allowed any thing that could be turned into a weapon by him like a plastic fork. During one of the regular procedures is when Salem Academy saved everyone including Adell.

Trivia:
• Adell will get extremely aggressive with anyone dressed as a scientist
• Adell is an ass unless your close, then hes stil an ass but a nicer ass.
• has a pair of mechanized gauntlets that have claws that retract and extendable shields on the sides of the arms. Along with a few variations that have other applications. These gauntlets are his main weapons
• Adell is a tech nerd

A like him but:

1) he can't get his power before being 14. In that birthday is that is awakened

2) He can make the gauntlets IC but he can't start already having them (Neither the scientists or The witches would allow him to keep them. The witches have them locked down away from him)

Aside from that, Welcome to Salem Academy! n.n

Full Name: Lionel Solis

Nicknames: Lio, Lion

Nationality: American

Age: 15

Year: Initiated

Personality: A seemingly docile boy that actually possesses heavy hints of sarcasm, stubbornness, and cheekiness. A dangerous combination for one in captivity. His attitude definitely didn’t do him any favors in the Compound as his loose lips got him into constant trouble. Though it appears as if he doesn’t care for much, he is not deprived of morality and does indeed feel bad about a lot of things. The experiments didn’t affect his psyche much as he felt it was the world’s way of making him atone for his sins. As such, Lion currently feels safe at the academy but is unsure as to whether he belongs there, feeling that his punishment was not severe enough.

Type of Power: Localized

Name of Power: Poison Cooking

Background: Solis Artificial Intelligence, or SAI for short, is a family owned company that is also one of the most notable when it comes to the research and development of AI. They have designed numerous machine learning algorithms and software that have made it into everyday life. In fact, it is very likely that the voice and facial recognition software on your own phone was created with the help of SAI. Lionel happens to be the son of this company’s CEO, Henry Solis.

It wasn’t long after his father announced SAI’s incredible progress towards fully autonomous vehicles that Lion discovered his power. He had been making some tuna salad for sandwiches when he decided to give in to his begging kitty, Sir Pompous the Third. Sir Pompous suffered heavily and slowly that day. At first, he only mewled with discomfort, but after some time he was writhing and yowling in pain. It was as if he had been poisoned. Although saddened by the loss of his poor kitty, this event brought upon a series of experiments that he conducted on bugs, birds, and other stray creatures until he finally figured out the root cause. Everything that he made, as long as it was food, turned poisonous...

As a celebration for SAI’s efforts, Henry held a potluck for all of his star employees. The next morning, they were all found dead, surrounded by food, the punch giving off a faint purple glow. The police managed to correlate the employee’s cause of death with that of nearby stray animals, and then to that of Lionel’s cat. They were just about to put all the pieces together before something worse managed to get a hold of him: The Compound.

Under the dark of night, right when Lion was walking to the police station to turn himself in, happened a scene straight out of a movie. A black van pulled in quickly and seemingly dozens of men piled out; Way too many for the size of the vehicle. They were in hazmat suits and they each held what looked to be guns in their hands. Before Lion could even utter a word, immense pain shot through him as his whole body tensed from the impact and he eventually fell out of consciousness. They weren’t guns…they were stun guns.

After that, he began his year in the compound. They tested the limitations of his power, figuring out what he could and couldn’t mix to get it to activate. Originally, it wasn’t too bad. They made him cook all sorts of things and fed them to all kinds of living beings in front of him. Harsh, yes, but it was something that he had already done himself. That was until one day, an ignorant and forgetful scientist turned for just a moment. Lionel slipped something into his coffee and from that day on, the Compound made sure his life was a living hell. They tried breaking his hands and fingers to see if it would impact his power. They starved him and left him without water as long as they possibly could without killing him. The only thing they allowed him to eat were the things he cooked that didn’t end up poisonous. Ie. Microwaved rat, plain toast, raw eggs, etc. Some were nastier than others.

Now, after almost a year of torture, Lion resides at Salem Academy along with the rest of the children who were saved from the compound.

Trivia:

- Lionel cannot completely make his right hand into a fist. His ring finger will be up slightly as a previous fracture of his hand did not heal correctly. Due to this, there is also a medium bump that resides just below his ring finger knuckle. It brings him slight pain from time to time.

- Due to his time being forced to eat questionable things at the compound, Lion can eat anything and everything. All of it tastes the same to him.

- His nickname, Lion, is pronounced Lee-O-n.

- Likes to bake, it relaxes him.

If he mixes something only using his right hand it will be less poisonous that if he uses his left hand or both hands (this can be fixed if his hands is healed, either with water magic, light magic or the Healing ability)

Full Name: Chunhua Chang. She received the name Lily at the Compound, and that's what most people use. She responds to both

Nationality: Chinese

Age: 15

Year: Initiated

Personality: Chunhua is a very quiet girl. She hasn't gotten a lot of social interaction, so she mostly keeps to herself. She never learned to read or write, but she does speak Chinese, and later learned a bit of English, from her time at the Compound. Chunhua is incredibly observant, and notices patterns and shifted behaviors with relative ease, though she mostly just keeps such observations to herself. She was considered a gift at the Compound, due to her submissiveness and now sees the Academy as a huge step up. Her snakes tell her that the Academy is untrustworthy, but Chunhua has yet to notice anything suspicious.

Type of Power: Contractual

Name of Power: Gorgon

Background: Chunhua was born in poor farmer's town, in Southern China. There was much debate between her parents on getting rid of her. Not only was Chunhua born a girl, she was also born blind. A blind child who couldn't possibly bear good children was worth very little. She was begrudgingly kept alive, and spent most of her days cleaning the house, to the best of her ability, and sorting grains by texture. Her father's constant nagging convinced Chunhua that being silent was better. People rarely took their problems out on the small fragile blind girl, so Chunhua stayed a background character. Though she always wished to have her sight back, she felt a strange peace with the silenced life she lived.

At the age of 14, the terrible signs of a curse began to appear. Her skin lost most of its pigmentation, turning a pale white, and her long black hair began to fall out in large clumps. The village, convinced that it was a contagious illness, decided to put her down. Some said that it was punishment for not killing her earlier. Completely surrounded and frozen by fear, a strange warmth spread to her eyes, followed by a piercing pain in her head. She screamed and lost consciousness.

Chunhua awoke to the sky. The big bright blue, endless expanse of the sky. She had wished for her sight for so long, but now that she saw the sky, she knew something was wrong. Sitting up, she saw the horror that awaited her. She was surrounded by the statues of her village. Completely isolated in stone, they looked uncomfortably alive. Overtaken by every negative emotion imaginable, she fled.

It only took about a week for the Compound to find her, after all, a completely petrified village with a small trail of stamped grass didn't make a difficult hunt. For the ease of the scientists, they just called her Lily. She found it unusual to receive such a soft name in a place that rarely treated her with such kindness. She was blinded for the first month, nothing she hadn't seen before, but from then on, the Compound would strap her to chairs and force her eyes open. The victims started off as small animals. Then, they tested deer, then bears, 10 months into her stay, her eyes swelled with tears as they met the black marbles of an elephant.

Trivia:
Lily wears fake glasses throughout the day. Her sight was tested to be near perfect, but the small circle of glass interrupts the murder stare

The snake on her hair talk to her. Most of the time they're quite rude to her, but she's learned to drown them out

While she is still learning to read, Lily has taken a shine to historical record books

4fc9a07b84202ae011e589591cd16a5a.jpg
Full Name:
Hana Alani.

Nationality:
Hawaiian.

Age:
15.

Year:
Initiated.

Positives:
She is a very charming person and tends to be a social butterfly. She has a magnetic charisma and draws people into her circle. She is quite intelligent, has a bunch of original ideas and loves to communicate with people. She focuses more on the emotional aspect of life. She hates boredom and this means that she often learns how to make her own fun (this from a young age). Due to her curious nature, she is often full of knowledge for a number of topics. She seems to know little bits about almost everything, but outside a few topics, she will have little in-depth knowledge about them. Her curiosity about so many things means that she never quite dwells long enough on one thing to know too much about it. She is never afraid to take risks and these can often pay off well for her. She is able to express herself easily as well as handle ideas and thoughts with clarity – meaning that she often makes for a great mediator when there are misunderstandings. Furthermore, her dualistic nature means that she can see many sides of a situation. She isn’t content in watching the world pass by them as a passive observer, she must live within it.

Negatives:
Her adaptable and changing nature means that she is able to handle most situations with ease, but can also make her seem artificial. Her sometimes shallow knowledge of subjects can often make them seem superficial as well. Her curious nature spreads over everything, meaning that she often doesn’t feel the need to scratch more of the surface of something before becoming bored and going to learn about the next thing that comes to her mind. This combined with her inconsistency often means that she ends up juggling too many things at once. While she is great at starting projects, learns quickly and is full of new ideas, she often doesn’t have the discipline to follow through with something, leaving a long trail of unfinished projects behind her. Her natural charm and her talent for expression combined with and her desire to seem important means she often exaggerates stories and stretches the truth so that people will always find them interesting and intelligent. If a situation in any aspect of her life is not going her way, or she is not in the limelight, she will leave it without hesitation. This can make her seem selfish and rude to others.

Type of Power:
Fading.

Name of Power:
Healing.

Background:
Her family was quite adventurous, having fun on their hiking vacations, going rock climbing, skiing, etc. There was always something to do. Hana became somewhat the same as them, always in for some kind of new adventure. It was an exciting life that she was leading. However, one day her mother got into an accident during one of their vacations. The rope of her wasn’t in a good condition and snapped in two as it got stuck behind a rock. She fell down to the ground and crushed her leg. Seeing the horrific sight, Hana and her father immediately went down again (they weren’t that high yet) and ran over. Hana kneeled down, staying surprisingly calm during all of this time. As if a voice was telling her that everything was going to be fine. Intuitively she held her hands over the leg of her mother which started to heal by itself in a sped-up process. Her father looked astonished by the reveal of Hana’s power. Bystanders stopped in their tracks and just stared in disbelief. Two were rather suspicious however as they talked among themselves and instead of looking at the broken leg only, they were mainly focused on Hana. An ambulance had already been called and they took them to the nearest hospital. She just needed a cast on her leg by the time that passed. The broken pieces healing up quickly. Hana and her father stayed by her side most of the time, only going home in the evening when visitors weren’t allowed to be there anymore. One day however, Hana went to get some drinks for them. But she never came back. Disappearing in just an instant, leaving her parents in an utter state of panic. Months went by and despite the search parties, Hana couldn’t be found which left them defeated but they always kept hope that their daughter was still somehow alive. Hana didn’t remember much of the time she was away, as if her brain locked those memories away deep inside of her.

Trivia:
☆ Obsessed with strawberries which is her favorite food (she didn’t get to eat them when she was locked away).

The Compound, at first, wasn't that bad. Simple tests to check his abilities, like creating... potions, persay. Potion could work for a name for them... anyway, they began testing what he could actually do. Within the first week, they had come up with a list of bodily fluids that could be used for those potions, and their effectiveness, listed here;

As it continued, he lost what the potions smelled like, or what food tasted like. The moment that he was 'saved', he was simply sitting down, writing things down in a notebook he called Kusuri, as every recipe for potions he had tested within the Compound and in the world, he had remembered and wrote down.

Trivia:

- Soruka had a pet before he was kidnapped, a raccoon named Shizuka. (japanese for quiet, or peaceful.) He had taken care of it for most of his life, alone. Current where-abouts are unknown.

His body fluids are the main (magical) ingredient but potions must have various ingredients mixed together aside from that.
The thing with the plants you won't be able to do it IC, and is going to be stated that they only grew and helped him bc of the magic in his blood + his ability + they saw what was happening. However you can't speak with them nor make the same stated on your Background. Your power is to make potions, limit yourself to cooking them and using them and avoid controlling plants since that's not something the power can or will do. (Unless you make an elaborate potion with ingredients besides your body fluids)

His sense of smell and taste was lost in the moment he got his powers at his 14th birthday, not after. (All contractual abilities are like this, you don't get the magic before paying the price)

He won't know how to make the potion that copies powers. He must discover the recipe IC (with no less than 5 ingredients aside from his blood and the one to copy) bc the scientists never revealed to him their formula, and the information is lost now.

Aside from these, he's accepted. Welcome to Salem Academy!

Full Name:

Healing.

Background:
Her parents had been in contact with the mad scientists without the knowledge of the experiments they actually did behind the scenes. They got along nicely, like normal people would do. Having a laugh, going somewhere to have a drink, have a dinner party, etc. It was all rainbows and sunshine until Hana showed some changes. The adventurous child that she was, she often got into some trouble, coming home with some bruises of small cuts from falling down. One day however, as she didn’t pay attention to any cars as she crossed the street, a car crashed into her as he saw her too late. The sight was horrifying for her parents, they immediately ran towards her side. Hana groaning due to the pain crashing throughout her body yet she was still conscious by wonder. Her leg was torn up and there was a cut in her head. The driver started to call 911 as well, while apologizing to the parents at the same time. Hana’s wounds somehow started to fade away slowly yet way faster than a normal person would. The scientists were also present and witnessed this happening. The ambulance arrived within fifteen minutes and took her back to the hospital. They were astonished by the rapid healing she did in such a short amount of time. Without warning the scientists took her with them for experimentation, disappearing from everyone’s lives at a split moment. Her parents almost went nuts and organized search parties for weeks until people slowly gave up their hope on finding Hana. Hana didn’t remember much of the days in the “prison” as if her mind wanted to lock that year of her life away. She lost A total of 20 years by the day she became 15 years old.

Trivia:
☆ Obsessed with strawberries which is her favorite food (she didn’t get to eat them when she was locked away).
☆ Her theme song would be this: x.

She can't heal herself, only others. So please fix her background. Also, she has lost 30 years in total since she's 15 + 15 years lost in experimentation. As the power states, you only have 50 years until dying so use them wisely.

Please use a spoiler to hide the CS as requested on the first post

Aside from those, She's accepted. Welcome to Salem Academy <3

full name ► sheridan de leon. intimate friends would call her sherry or dani, but the only person applicable to that category's long dead. instead, all of the kids just know her as subject sixty-six.
nationality ► filipino-american.
age ► fifteen years old.

year ► initiate.
power type ► localized.
power ► bonded words - any promise made directly to her must be kept. however, since it is located in her ears, she must be able to hear the promise being made. it's impossible not to fulfill what is being promised; the person will have to do it since their body will force them to do it. if they are incapable of fulfilling their promise (ie. it's an impossible promise or they're locked up), they will off themselves. if the former isn't possible, they will be inflicted with a heart attack and die.

personality ► sheridan would best describe herself as a psychopath, the harmful type: manipulative, self-serving, unfeeling, heartless. only psychopaths would prioritize their own well-being, even if it came at the expense of the others. only monsters, such as herself, would willingly kill their own kin just to secure their existence.

still, it must be said that self-diagnoses aren't always accurate.

while it's true that she's always been on the pragmatic side, she's not truly heartless. she simply accepst that idealism and morality have no place in dangerous situations. her survival must come first, and that usually entails locking away her emotions and humanity for a little bit.

however, since her time at the compound, she's been doubting herself. what if she had held on? what if she had covered her ears instead and drowned out their promises? would her sister have been alive to see this? it's unlike her to be so sentimental, but the sudden change in her circumstances has left her indecisive and unsteady.

on another note, it isn't wrong to say that she has a talent for deceit and manipulation. sheridan's default has always been charm and subterfuge, something that the scientists capitalized heavily on so that her power could see more use. whil it's true that she's trying to be more honest with the others in the hopes of gaining their trust, old habits die hard.

background ► [disclaimer, just in case: mentions of suicide and torture up ahead.]
when the couple, sherman and daniela, had the twins, sheridan and manuela, they believed that the children could mend their already-fragile marriage. a year down the line, they unfortunately found out that no, it could not. still, they vowed to stick it out with one another until the the girls were much older and likely more understanding of their situation. at the very least, they wanted to present a united front for the sake of these two young and impressionable girls.

that is, until manuela, ten years old at the time, spotted their mother romantic with another man. manuela, bright, brash and bullheaded, had vehemently confronted their mother until the woman relented and carefully explained the true situation of their family dynamics to the two. suffice it to say, manuela did not take the news well.

sheridan, on the other hand, while betrayed, accepted her mother's reasoning, and only asked for her mother's word that she would continue to stay with them despite it all.

but that promise was broken. a year later, the ex-couple announced that they were going to live apart from one another but that they could still see one another if they wished to. nevertheless, all sheridan could think of was the promise broken. to sheridan, this was the greater betrayal.

at the very least, however, she still had her father and sister, right? although he was becoming a lot more busy, she was at least having fun with her twin and their newfound friends who all had a few problems in the family themselves.

she finally found people, outside of manuela, to trust and relate to. it was fun ranting to one another, promising to one another, and hanging out with one another. until news of three of the kids from their group hanging themselves came up. that part wasn't so fun.

authorities attempted an investigation to determine whether this was a possible serial killing but turned up no new leads.

(in truth, this manipulation of hers is partly her power at work.)

she believed that the concerningly deep loyalty her peers had towards her was simply due to her natural charisma. a blessing, she had thought then. but when news of another string of deaths far too close to home cropped up, she wondered if she was cursed. but those deaths couldn't be because of her, right?

now, the branch assigned to the philippines had been keeping an eye on the de leon family for the past few months now, but the sudden spike in deaths surrounding the family had confirmed their suspicions: one (or both) of the children had awakened.

it wasn't long before the two were taken and shipped off to the compound.

there, the two were separated into sterile rooms. the assistants poked and prodded, hoping that it would trigger a fatal ability in either of the two. when nothing seemed to worked, they quickly moved on to painful methods.

the researchers at the compound had long posited that stress was the greatest trigger for powers. and the more extreme it was, the greater the reaction. suffice it to say, the scientists didn't hold back.

during this torturous phase, one individual took pity on the children stuck at the compound. although they didn't have enough power to free the whole compound, they at least wanted to save a couple of children, and included in those numbers were sheridan and manuela. unwittingly, they promised to sheridan that they would help them escape in a few days.

sheridan, seeing her opportunity agrees and prepares herself in her cell. unfortunately, a hiccup arose. the individual didn't have the right access codes to her cell. just as they were about to leave, however, they suddenly and frantically searched through the tables. for a moment, she believed them to be looking for a way to free her. instead, they brought out a gun and pointed it to their head.

and that's when things started to click for her. it takes her some time, but she comes to the conclusion that statements said to her must be fulfilled. death awaits those who fail to follow their word.

which means... all those deaths, her friends, those people who casually made promises to her, her parents... but that wasn't the time to dwell on it.

what matters is that she now has something to bargain with. she brings it up with one of the scientists, first asking for the woman's promise to not harm her or her sister to test out her hypothesis before divulging her discoveries.

she had hoped that by doing this, she could get on their good side and secure leniency for her and manuela, but no such luck.

once the compound learned her secret from the scientist, they experimented on the twins, particularly leaning on manuela to find out if being twins had any correlation to power awakenings and whether manuela shared her powers. not even their informant's suicide could dampen their spirits.

sheridan knew that she messed up. that would have been tolerable if manuela hadn't been caught in the crossfire. she didn't need to hear manuela's screams to confirm that her sister was suffering. and if she made any attempts to rebel, they would double down on manuela.

after a few months of testing and experiments, she was finally allowed to share a few moments with manuela as a 'reward' for all her 'good' behavior.

the sight of manuela, battered and listless, was no reward, only a reminder of her failure. and that's when she decided that she must do the only thing available to her.

she comforted manuela with whispered promises of their escape, their dreams, their future, and impossible things. manuela did the same. it wasn't long before manuela went into a frenzy in an attempt to kill herself. once she was restrained, it wasn't long before she had a heart attack and died.

she isn't left much time to mourn because the scientists are quick to put her back on the wheel for their experiments. this time, however, they focus their efforts into indoctrinating her. her ability, after all, would make for a useful tool in controlling their test subjects.

and it isn't too long before she gives in. that being said, this does not make her popular with the other prisoners, especially after an inmate is shown succumbing to her abilities. her designated number soon becomes synonymous to a punishment.

the children's torture would soon find its end once the salem academy rescues the children from captivity.

sheridan, unfortunately, isn't sure of how to feel about this all.
length of stay at the compound ► one year and five months.

► sheridan's won a fair number of child beauty pageants back in her province and takes great pride in it, even if it was all the efforts were spearheaded by her mom.
► the topic of her sister remains a sore spot for her and is the quickest way to get her to be quiet.

Ill proofread it in the morning oof t_t

She's accepted, but she could not have been in more than a year on the compound since when she was taken her powers were already awakened (wich happens at 14). Unless... is her birthday soon? If it is, ignore this.

Trivia: Has a tattoo he'd hidden from his parents on his right arm on a dare by his friends.

I'll add you to the list since you've finished tge CS n.n Welcome to Salem Academy!
