Upgrades for your car can be unlocked by doing special events, ranging from the following: Perfect Lap and Normal Lap Challenge, Beat Car Challenge, Cliffside Touge Challenge.

All normal events include Circuit, Sprint, Touge, Eliminator, Last Man/Woman Standing, Catch Up, and Speed Trap.

This RP will start when all 10 Rookie Racer spots are filled (5 remaining). A few RP rules include:
*No Killing/Ending of Life
*No racial slurrs. Normal swearing is fine, but not excessively
*No cheating
*No random posting in main thread, it must be story related or a reaction to someone else's action's. You must also have an approved character in order to post in Main Thread
*No romance beyond a PG/PG-13 rating

That's all the rules, for now.

Oh, I just came across this and my little JDM heart is tickled pink. Quick question: would a AW11 Toyota MR2 be an acceptable starter car instead of the ZZW30?

Car list update No. 1
added (R) AW11 MK1, (4) Lamborghini Countach and Diablo, (3) Ferrari F40, (2) MB SLS AMG and finally (1) MB SLR Mclaren 722 and Porsche Carrera GT.

The events explained:
Circuit and Sprint are pretty self explanatory
Touge is, if you don't know, is basically a head to head in the canyons. Whoever is in the lead at the end of the race is the winner.
Last Man Standing is like normal racing but any contact with the walls will eliminate you from the race.
In Catch up, All racer are put at an equal distance from and to each other. Anyone who is overtaken from behind is eliminated. The race continues until one person remains.
In Speedtrap, position does not matter, but the speed in which you pass the speed cameras matter and at the end of the race, all your speeds will be added together into one final score.
Rally Stages are offroad circuit races. There are 2 routes, the normal lap and the joker lap. Racers may take either route but they must take the slower Joker Lap once.
Checkpoint/Tollbooth races are races in which the racer must pass the next checkpoint/tollbooth in a certain amount of time in order to continue progressing in the race,
Drift is self explanatory.

PixelSymphony PixelSymphony , Psynchrony Psynchrony , AlexandraRoseLeclerc AlexandraRoseLeclerc I've been thinking, should we wait for more people to join, or should we start immediately and let people join while the story is progressing? Last thing I want to happen is for you all to be bored/lose interest while waiting, but in the end, it's you all's choice.

What did you have in mind for how the races play out, in terms of grouping? Looking at the various racer levels and styles -- are we rivals? Or more like individual racers in the same over-arching festival, each having their own race that they narrate?

I'm okay with whatever πŸ‘

For the qualifying race, all four of the rookies will be in our own separate races that we can narrate to our liking, as well as lone races like Checkpoint/Tollbooth races. But beyond that, the rookies will be rivals pitted against each other in all the other forms of racing.
