Not long ago, this is the question all Regulars chosen to climb The Tower were asked. Under the Empire of Zahard, if there were ever something you wanted you'd be able to find it higher in The Tower, and it was the promise of limitless wish-granting potential that brought those from struggling homes and those victims of tragedy to heed Haedon's call.

But now, there is something new bringing hordes Regulars to the front-line: a call to action.

The message was sent through Emilie to everyone's Terminals: "I, Jeong Bae-Ja, have ascended to the 135th floor of the Tower forbidden to you by the power of your King Zahard. His power has failed once and it will fail you again."

"All those who seek to uproot the Empire of Zahard, rise to the 134th Floor. Refuse the King's Gift. Rise to the Bae-Ja Empire, and become like Gods and Heroes."

Many may still climb for money... gems... honor... power... revenge... but now there's Regulars who are climbing to go to war. Some scuttle to protect the regime that brought them up. Others aim to kill Zahard and side with the Bae-Ja Empire.

Whatever your reasons for climbing may be, brace yourself:

War is coming.

Interested for sure. It's been a long time since I was last able to play ToG, so this was an exciting post to see.

Will we be playing as Regulars or Rankers? If the prior, how far up the Tower do you think we'll start?

You'll be (Ir)regulars starting their climb up the Tower with floors selectively being skipped. :)

So I see this might be a game of some sort similar to D&D, I don't know Tower of God, but I would still like to join because of the interesting SAO concept.
It may be a bit hard to get into. lol Besides there being a tower, it isn't really much anything at all like Sword Art Online in any way, and there's a whole lot of lore so it may be a little confusing. Nonetheless, you're free to try the game and Tower of God is free to read so there's nothing stopping you from getting into it.

I’m reading Tower of God, but haven’t finished it, is that okay?
Sure! Though depending on how far in you are, there may be some spoilers for lore and tests (since I will be borrowing some test concepts from the comic since it's implied tests are reused).
If there is space to be welcomed I'd love to join~
Always! Welcome aboard!

Is this based on a fandom or media? Must one be intimately knowledgeable about it to participate?
It has the Fandom tag, so yes. :P And you don't have to be, but I would strongly recommend being acquainted with the series before trying to roleplay it. That being said, anyone is welcome!

I'd recommend reading all the way up through Volume 2 Chapter 22 and stopping before 23 at the minimum, but you should be able to get by swimmingly with only reading Volume 1. I encourage reading the all the way up until the Workshop Battle arc in Volume 2 because that's when the fights get more interesting and there is some crucial information about the world that would be too bad to have spoiled for you, but that isn't necessary in my opinion.

First actual manga and large webcomic I've read. I'm enjoying it so far though I do have the issue of telling the gender of the characters. It's a bit hard for me and sometimes throws me for a loop. I am this bad in real life as well, however.

Getting further in might help. The artist learns a lot as the series goes on, so everything on a visual level improves as things go on from action scenes to the distinction of character designs.

Would it be possible to maybe set up and OOC thread or a Discord server? I’m very excited for this RP and to get to know everyone xd
