Hey Everyone,
There are two quick updates that the Staff wishes to notify the site about. The first is about the new organization scheme inside the Roleplay Section, the second is about Forum Roleplay cleanup.
Organization of Roleplay Section
After our last site update, we got a lot of feedback from users and had a long discussion as administrators. Taking in what comments we received, we have made some changes to the front-end of the site.
First and foremost, "Thread Roleplays" are having their sections renamed back to just "Roleplays". This is because Thread Roleplays are typically the default playing style for many users on the site and do not need clarification (as such clarifying words were only confusing users). So on the site we have Roleplays and Forum Roleplays.
Next, we have moved all Roleplay genres to the front list so they are not hidden away underneath a main category anymore.
We also put 1x1, Public Roleplays, Forum Roleplays and the recruitment forums all underneath one category. This is so that they could all be visited from the "Roleplays" tab at the top (basically making a quick link to our Roleplay Index). Each of these sections now is separated from one another with sub-category banners that were designed into the style.
Lastly, we have moved Roleplays up on the Forum List so that they are above the Discussion forums. We felt that this would better help people navigate the site and put the most important content first for new users.
Some minor changes may still occur with this, as we are still tweaking some design characteristics. Nevertheless we hope to keep all content on the index so that it can be easily be found by users.
Forum Roleplay Cleanup
Another update to annouce is still in the process of happening and that is Forum Roleplay Cleanup. There have been many games posted in Forum Roleplay in the past month. Many of them are active and successful however many others are being made and left empty.
Empty Forum Roleplays - The Staff would like to remind everyone that if they are going to make a Forum Roleplay they must already have content to fill in those forums and that Roleplay Creators should only be making sub-forums for specific subjects and for content they already have or can reasonably assure will be filled promptly. We like to remind everyone that you can always add more sub-forums later on and that posting empty RP forums still take up site resources.
Forum Roleplays that have been left empty will be cleared out in the next few days. If such issues keep occurring, the respective users will be warned by the Administration.
Private & Collection Forum Roleplays - Empty roleplays are not the only things being cleaned up. Private roleplays (meaning roleplays that could be labeled as 1x1) will also be asked to move back to their appropriate section. Likewise, collection roleplays (roleplays that are just a collection of 1x1 roleplays or different roleplays by one user) will also be asked to be split up and moved to their respective sections.
If you are confused what all this means, do not worry. If you are a Forum Roleplay Creator we will be coming to you about these topics. So if you are not contacted and your game is not empty or inactive then you having nothing to worry about.
Thanks,
RpN Staff
