Pokemon: Let's explore Galacia

Arael

Resident Old Guy
Well I have a rough idea, which actually helped me out with the idea for the Twilight Temple a little. You know the memory sinc for black and white 2? Well I used it with my old pokemon black, and went through the different memories of all the different characters. One involved N. He was talking about how humans and pokemon are very black and white, and how he is the one standing inbetween the two, connecting them. N believed that the pokemon and humans should be separate, just like how black and white are two completely separate colors. This was to protect the pokemon who were often abused by the humans.

Combine that with a somewhat recent idea about an rp about the Great Pokemon War. A while back, before Red, humans and pokemon coexisted without the use of pokeballs. If a pokemon wasn't treated correctly, they would just leave. Things were peaceful.

This changes with the creation of the pokeball. With this, pokemon could be forced to stay with a human and obey his every command. Things got out of hand, and the pokemon began to revolt. Thus started the Great Pokemon War. This war eventually ended in a stale-mate, mainly because neither aside could afford more casualties.

The now ex-gym leader of Twilight Town was also the master at the Twilight Temple, and taught the twins himself. He used his experience in the war to teach peace and balance among People and Pokemon. However, in his growing years, he has seen the cruelty that has grown among the humans, particularly the adults. This shows him that the balance and peace has been upset, and he takes it upon himself to fix it. The most permanent solution? Separate people and pokemon. How does he do this? That part I'm not sure about.

Things they'll probably do:

-destruction of factories and stores selling pokeballs

-stealing and releasing pokemon

-What legendaries will they go after? And why?

Region: Galicia

pokemon_region_spain2_zps97bd1667.png

Pokemon:

-We're using all 649 current pokemon (non-legendaries definately), and eventually the ones beings released for X and Y

-Are we going to put all the legendaries in the region, or only specific ones?

Towns:

1. Insectile (gym)

-Island south of Insectile Island: Buddleja Island- One of the smaller islands, it is well known for its flying bug types. It is named after the large amount of Buddleja bushes (more commonly known as the butterfly/butterfree bush). In the spring, when the butterfree bushes bloom, the bug types usually also evolve. There is usually a festival around this time of year.

-Island southeast of Insectile Island: Woodville Island - A good size island with a decent sized town. T

2. New Blossom Island- The largest island among that chain. The Professor's lab is located here. There's also an abandoned cave with unknown writing inside, hinting that a pokemon either once lived there, or is stored within it (regis?). Its a common place for young/new trainers to train their pokemon, especially since most of the pokemon there are rather weak... Unless you can get past the waterfall within it.

3. Fairwood Town- ?It rests on fertile land, and has large berry patches. Despite of being small, Fairwood produces over 60% of Galicia's berries. It also has a large number of honey trees.?

4. Paradise Island- A simple Island with only water pokemon being the wild pokemon on this Island. Not much goes on here, but a lot of fishermen live on this Island.

-North of (4)- Angler Island: This island is one of the two fishing paradises in the region. A large variety of water types (mostly those found in salt waters) can be found here. There are many huts near the center of the island, where fishermen and trainers can rent out for either a night or as long as a month at a time.

5. Flare City (Gym)

-Location south of Flare City: Flare Volcano- The mountain range includes several volcanos, most of which are dorment. At the base of the volcano, there is a very famous and well known hot springs known simply as 'Flare Hot Spring'. Its very popular among the elderly, but younger people do visit as well.

6. Clockwork Town- A small, sleepy town. Clockwork has a huge library with many stories on various folklore and legends.

7. Mythic(gym)

8. Saguaro Town- the last town before entering the harsh desert. The most significant thing here is the store where you can buy equipment before going into the desert (this includes sand goggles, plenty of water bottles, first aid kits, detailed maps of the area, tents that can stand up against the sandstorms and nearly any condition, etc)

-between 8 and 9: Arid temple- found among many sand dunes, the Arid temple is an ancient training place among ground type trainers. The training is intense, and few ever reach the rank of master. The gym leader Mak is one of those few, and is often found at the temple when he's not at the gym.

9. Acacia City (Gym)- This desert city was created among a large oasis, and was named after the many Acacia trees that are scattered around the edges. Water is drawn from the large lake that stands at the center of the city, and from the underground river that flows below the city. They are well known for their spicy food and barbeque. It's nearly impossible to leave the city when a sandstorm whips up.

10. Sandstone town: Everything in this town is built from sandstone, and some buildings are even build into the ground. There are several wells around the town, and all the buildings get their water from the wells and underground river. The city also connects with the Blaze Mountain range, in which the caves connect to the Flare Hotsprings.

11.

12.

13. Twilight Town (Gym) : A very old town with many ghost stories surrounding it. Ghost, poison, psychic, and dark types are very common around this area. The pokemon cemetary is also located here, which just fuels the ghost stories.

- East of Twilight Town: Twilight Temple - A temple who teaches balance in everything. The temple is another place for new trainers to gain starter pokemon, though they don't have pokedexes there. They also provide oppurtunities for training. This is where Fuyuko and Natsuko trained before becoming the gym leaders after the last gym leader retired.

- Southeast of Twilight Town: Fisherman's cove - This section of Coral Lake is very popular among fisherman due to its high population of water type pokemon and its rather large variety.

14. Obsidian town- a town hidden deep in the mountains and for many years was believed to have been built on a dormant volcano.

15.

16. Mantella Island- On the northern side of this island, many of the region's large factories can be found here. Due to the high industrialization, pollution levels are rather high around here. Poison types are extremely common, and recently (due to laws that have been put in place to try and protect the local pokemon), the dumping has been severely limited (though its still done in secret), and poison types have been used to help eat the pollution. On the southern side of the Island, it's more suburban, and there is a cave that connects with the sewer system. Many strong pokemon can be found here, especially as you get deeper in. The current (and pollution)are incredibly strong, and make it near impossible to surf to the town, so you must take a boat to get here.

-Green spot west of Meteor City- The Wandering Islands: A series of small islands that lie off the coast of Meteor, the caves lead to tunnels and interconnect with each other. It's very easy to get lost in there, but the caves also have a large variety of Pokemon. Shards, stones and pearls are also commonly found there.

17. Meteor City- A relatively small city with rather rainy weather, Meteor's main attraction is its huge Safari Zone. It also provides guides to the Wandering Islands, since it's so easy to get lost down there...

-forest beside Moonrest Village: Moonrest Forest- The forest Moonrest Village is hidden within. The non-village area is much thicker, and is filled with many different kind of pokemon.

18. Moonrest Village-a small village deep in the forest that experiences strange activities during a full moon.

19. Arclight City: Second to only Starfall, Arclight City is one of the most populous cities in Galicia and possesses a variety of attractions as well. There's the Pokestar Studios, a music theatre, a radio station, an open marketplace...and most importantly the Game Corner. Once every year, a huge auction is also held in Arclight for valuable items and sometimes even rare Pokemon.

20.

21.

22. Pandora City- Galicia's main port city, it's a major trade center and very high-tech. Lots of Pokegear developement takes place here, and it has a number of research labs. Pandora also has a beautiful beach.?

23. Starfall City: The most populated city in the region, Starfall city has many attractions such as a huge mall, a theater, a pokemon contest hall, and even a park at the center. Its famous for the falling star festival that happens once a year, and the city (mainly the park) is the best place to see it. The Advanced Pokemon Academy is also located here, for those who want to continue their studies in whatever they want to do instead of going on a journey (not limited to only battlers, but also contests, future Professors, etc.)

24.

25.

26.

27. Shimmer City (Gym)-Resting near the foot of Shimmer Mountain, Shimmer City is a popular tourist location in the summertime when most of Shimmer Mountain's blizzards dies down (on its lower half, anyways). That's when the mountain lives up to its name, with its snowy hills shimmering beautifully when the sun shines on it.

28.

-Green spot inbetween 28 and 29 is Victory Road

29. Grand City- The Elite Four is found here. There is little else here, except for a small village surrounding it, where retired trainers (who were once the strongest around usually) live. The air is crisp and clean here.

Team Nova:

This shows him that the balance and peace has been upset, and he takes it upon himself to fix it. The most permanent solution? Separate people and pokemon. How does he do this? That part I'm not sure about.?

Things they'll probably do:?

-destruction of factories and stores selling pokeballs?

-stealing and releasing pokemon?

-Collecting the Lake Guardians (Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf) to change the way humans think

Top Members of Team Nova:

Name: Dorado

Age: 74

Appearance:

Type: balanced team

Position: Leader of Team Nova

Team: Lapras, Flareon (doesn't have a pokeball), Simisage, Hitmonchan, Gothitelle, and Zoroark

Other: Dorado was around for the Great Pokemon War, and has grown up seeing the suffering pokemon have gone through. Although the aftermath created peace, it was only temporary. He traveled, trying to teach people about the need to treat pokemon with kindness and respect, until he came upon Twilight Temple. It was here he found his calling. He rose through the ranks, and taught many young trainers until he became the master of the temple and gym leader of Twilight Town. Although he had a great impact on those who visited the temple, it wasn't enough. All around him, he saw the cruelty against pokemon rising. At last, he handed over his position as Gym leader to a pair of twins he had taught personally since they were 12, and his position as master of the Temple to an man named Kazuki. He then formed Team Nova, and has begun attacks recently, while trying to locate the Guardians of the Lakes.

3 Commanders

1.Name: Aquila

Age: 26

Appearance:

Type: Grass and Flying

Position: 1st Commander of Team Nova

Team: Natu, Lilligant, Sawsbuck, Honchkrow, Altaria

Other: As a young trainer, Aquila once tried to prevent a gang of Pokemon poachers from disrupting a wild Natu flock but only succeeded in losing her starter, a Woobat, to the gang of hunters as well. Reporting the case to the police wasn't any help, and she never saw Woobat again. Not only that, the police also failed the protect the Natu flock which was soon captured by the poachers. Deeply disappointed and disillusioned, Aquila started to see signs of human cruelty against Pokemon everywhere and eventually joined Team Nova in an attempt to make it stop.

2. Name: Lupus

Age: 23

Appearance:
http://m295.photobucket.com/albumview/albums/Deidara_the_clay_ninja/AnimeScientists/animedoctor.jpg.html?o=8

Position: 2nd commander of team nova

Type: fire/ water

Team: magmar, gyrados, macargo, tentacrule and chandalure

Other: before he joined team nova Lupus used to be a proffesor that studied myths and lore once in his research he encountered pokemon poachers who were attacking the ruins where a legendary pokemon was said to live in. He tried to talk them out if it but they refused to listed at that moment a feirce roar echoed from the ruins and followed close behind a blast of fire wich caused everything to catch fire all his research was destroyed and once his story reached the chief of police in the area they did nothing wich angered him that the poachers got if with ease and could easily go after that pokemon again . Years later he met dorado who listened to his story and recruited him to team nova and promised him that they would make a difference so that people and pokemon were seperated.

3. Name: Lynx

Age: 19

Appearance:

Type: poison/ghost

Position: 3rd Commander of Team Nova

Team: Gengar, Haunter, Chandelure, Drapion, Nidoqueen

Other: She's the youngest of the commanders, and sometimes viewed as somewhat immature because of this. She grew up on Mantella Island, and both her and her younger sister lost their first pokemon from sickness due to the high levels of pollution. After that, she mainly caught poison and ghost types, since they were the only types who could florish in the environment. She tried to help clean up the area, but the dumping outweighed her efforts. She watched as many pokemon slowly died, and began to hate people, especially businesses. When Dorado visited the town (when she was 15 about to leave on her journey), he saw the conditions of the city and how deeply she hated people for doing it. He took her under his wing, and when Team Nova was established, she quickly became the last Commander. She has a deep love for music, especially rock, and can usually be found carrying around a guitar.

Grunts

The main color is black, with silver edging. The females have a white skirt with silver edging. Females also have an option of silver or white boots, or opt for an outfit like the males, though most don't. The symbol on their pants/skirt and hat is the normal pokeball symbol, except it has a slash through it. The belt holds up to the standard six pokeballs. The hat (based off of Team Rocket's hat) is optional.

Professor:

Name: Professor Elena Pine

Age: 74

Appearance:

(the last one is her current image)

Position: Lead Pokemon Professor of Galicia Region.

Other: She's a very kind woman, though she'll usually end up letting her work get ahead of everything else. She's a neat freak, and her lab is almost always neat and tidy... And when the pokemon mess it up, she won't stop cleaning until its in its proper order.

Please ask before using tjis map and the characters in it.
