The Lion surely is intelligent. But he is soo far away from wisdom.
I think it's pretty hard to find someone wise. Sidereals surely are not - it doesn't matter if they're bronze, gold, or whatever.
Possibly there are wise people around, but with so many different points of view fighting...
Indeed! I mentioned that a few posts ago, I think. I can't stand systems which are too complicated. They have a tendency to get in the way of role-playing. 8)
As for the setting, well, there's not much to say: I agree with you. It's at the same time very well knit around its own elements and...
I'm not saying mortals are "unplayable" or that they cannot do cool stuff.
What I'm saying is, even if you play a mortals-only game in Exalted, it's still not going to be the same as if you played Forgotten Realms, for example, which is what I consider a "regular" fantasy setting.
Good point.
But then again, heroic humans would be just that - humans. No elves, dwarves, or anything like that. Anything not human would be way out of their league. Even the god-blooded.
That's quite true.
However, what would you do then? Heroic Mortals can do only so much with what little power they are given; they have no access to magic (except for mortal thaumaturgy); all the good treasure is warded beyond traps and challenges that only Exalted would survive; and you would...
Yeah, I know. But then again, as already said by someone earlier in the thread, it's just not the same. You need to do some tweaking to make it a "regular fantasy setting" with dwarves, elves, and so on.
Besides that, species are not the only thing different in Exalted than in other fantasy...
I do miss a lot of Fantasy elements. A *lot*.
When I first heard about Exalted, it went like "Oh, WW's Fantasy-style game. cool!" It turned out top be something completely different from what I expected, which was some kind of Dark Ages without Vampires or Werewolves or Magi or anything like...
I use a screen all the time (when I'm ST'ing that is  :P ). I don't like to keep rolling dice all the time, because I think the noise is a bit annoying when I'm trying to talk, or when I'm trying to listen to the players.
Also, I keep a *lot* of notes, NPC sheets, and other auxiliary stuff...
I remember reading a brief description of Akuma in the Player's Guide. I don't remember where, though. Probably together with the demon-blooded.
I heard the same thing about the "honor guard", too; I can't recall where, though.
But they do. Sidereals are the only ones who get Paradox points for messing around with the spiders. They get paradox by *merely* using astrology, and then they get a few more points depending on what they ask.
Oh yeah we do have indication. Ever heard about Paradox? That's what a siddy gets for messing around with Astrology; not only do they receive paradox by merely *using* astrology, but they also get it by using it for something that disturbs the spÃÂders.
Besides that, I never heard of...
I think that, being controlled by the Bureau of Seasons, weather is a quite bureaucratic system, and the order of seasons probably was established to optimize the required heat, cold, rain and dry periods for, say, agriculture. In other words, for economical purposes.
It was established by the...
Apocalitpica does the trick for me. Their first album is wonderful.
The soundtrack from The Lord of the Rings is also pretty good for non-specific moods (I mostly use it as ambient music)
There's also the Essence and Divinity "albums" by Maati Paalanen:
