I started to freak out but I was fast enough to whap it and literally rip it's stinger off.

I remember a few days back a large cockroach was running around in my hallway (don't know how it got inside). I had to smash it with the nearest book (my D&D 5e Player Handbook unfortunately) while shaking in fear.
