Fantasy By the Gods, Mortals and all that's in between!

Ferrak laughed out loud as he started running for the entrance of the Halls, a thick, soft grey mist submerging the two, fading into the breeze.

The two appeared on what seemed to be a large hill, as far as the eye could see was tall green grass and a large forest just to the left of their vision, Ferrak turned around with a large smile, looking at a view that he loved ever so much.

They were standing on the edge of a large cliff, a cliff of the purest white chalk, at the bottom the sun shone onto a sea of the clearest water, all sorts of coloured rocks and corals lay underneath the water that was swaying this way and that. A calm breeze softly kissed at their hair, floating into the grass and the leaves.

Ferrak stared at the gorgeous sight that beheld the two.

Addarra began to cry at the beauty of this place. She was near speechless as the tears rolled down her cheeks. As the Goddess of Earth and Moon such a place suited her well. She hugged her brother rather tightly before letting go and reaching down and taking off her shoes setting them nicely together on the ground. She turned to where her brother was standing and yelled "Catch me if you can!" she immediately took off running through the grass smiling and laughing the whole time just enjoying not having to worry about anything. Her Adviser was overseeing most of her duties as it stood so as to allow her to relax and not feel the weight of everything.

Ferrak took off after Addarra, laughing out loud, his hair brushing backwards. His heeled shoes slowed him quite a bit in the grass, but he was quite adept at running in them, so he was able to keep pace.

A small bird peaked it's head out of his pocket as he ran, seeing him with a large grin on his face, and that he was watching a woman running in front of him intently, and hopped out, zooming ahead of him to get a closer look at her.

"The big, bad wolf is coming to get you!" He roared in a deep voice, slightly childishly.

She let out a fake scream and kept running, "Help! Help! The wolf! He is after me!" She yelled playfully, slightly taunting her brother. She was having more fun than she had in a long time. She was for once, genuinely happy. She wished her other siblings would be present. "Brother? Getting old?" Addarra taunted as Ferrak seemed unable to actually catch her, the grass felt amazing on her bare feet as though it was greeting her. She noticed a small bird flying around here and there, it seemed to be checking the Goddess out so she simply gave it a wink.

"Oooohh big mistake!" He yelled in reply, "You see, this wolf can FLY!"

And with that, he took off into the air, rising high up before diving back down with a booming laugh. He flew above her and started concentrating, as he did so, many flowers started growing around her, of all colours. He started flying a little faster until he was right above her, casting a shadow down upon her.

"Not so slow now, am I?" He chuckled smugly.

The small humming bird seemed overjoyed at the wink, doing a loop-the-loop and flying around her, making a small chirping noise.

The flowers coupled with the cute bird made Addarra burst out laughing completely and totally over joyed. "So you can FLY!" she yelled, suddenly she stood still laughing at her brother and breathing. She sat amongst the flowers and smiled and just seemed to completely enjoy herself. This... this is exactly what she had needed. "Thank you," she said looking at her brother. She picked one of the flowers and smelled it, some pollen making her sneeze before she started giggling again.

Ferrak was beyond overjoyed to see his sister so happy. He folded his wings behind his back and fell into the soft grass, rolling over into a sitting position, he sat for a second a little dizzy and looked up at her with a slightly childish grin.

"Thank YOU." He replied.

He looked down at the ground and placed his hand on the grass, his eyes glowed a faint blue and for a few seconds nothing happened. Then a small green plant popped it's way through the grass and twirled around his hand, stopping at his wrist and pointing to the sky. The bud at the very end opened up, revealing petals that were stained with a deep yellow that softened into a warm orange, changing to a beautiful red just as the petal met the rest of the flower, the stem started to darken into a rich bronzed-brown colour.

Ferrak raised his hand as the flowers stem moved slowly into a balanced position on the back of his hand, it's leaves opening proudly as if asking for a hug.

"For you, my darling sister." He smiled warmly.

Addarra smiled at brother's less than graceful landing. She giggled at him some and then smiled at the bird again as it twirled in response. She was amazed when her brother gave her such a beautiful flower. "Thank you" she said gently taking the flower. "Brother?" She asked lightly. "I found what appeared to be a journal left by that creature we faced some weeks ago." Addarra recalled the details that had been inside the insidious thing. "That creature... it didn't mean to hurt those people, it just needed power to return to its home... on the other side." She said twirling the flower around gently in her hands. "Anyways, have you been to some of the Kingdoms near my domain? They are quite beautiful... if you haven't we should go sometime." She said smiling and taking a deep breath smelling the salt in the air and remembering the touch of the ocean. She missed her sibling, the deity of the ocean. Addarra wished they would awake from their long slumber. For some reason that escaped her Avonch had woke them yet, probably letting them rest some more.

Ferrak's eyes gave off a dark green glow, a small green mist seeming to hiss from his eyes, when Addarra mentioned the creature. He blinked for a second and re-opened his eyes, which had stopped glowing. "Whatever it was..it attacked someone I cared deeply for, and that I cannot forgive." he hissed, slowly standing up, staring into the sky.

He smiled a little, "Maybe you could show me?" He requested, speaking slightly quieter than before, "I do not believe I have had the pleasure."

Addarra got up and took her brother's hands in her's. "Then off to the Human Kingdom of Vallaria." she said whisking them away in a great ball of shadow. They arrived at the bustling port city of Vallencourt. A stunning human city that held nearly one million people. The seat of power in the Kingdom of Vallaria, whose Queen Meredith had been blessed by Addarra at her birth many decades earlier. The two had remained quite close. As for the city, it sat atop some cliffs overlooking the shimmering ocean. It was around noon, so the markets would be full of people. She looked to her brother whom was still not dressed accordingly and would stick out quite horribly, "Hmm brother dear, you will need to change into something similar to mine, otherwise people will not think highly of you," She said with a wink. "Welcome to the human city of Vallencourt, home to a dear friend of mine, and the seat of power for the Kingdom of Vallaria. Isn't it just lovely?" She inquired motioning to the city. The roofs had beautiful blue tile roofs. The nation seemed to resemble The Renaissance in culture and technology.

Ferrak stood in awe of the beautiful city that lay just in front of him, people everywhere, some stared at him as they walked past with looks that could only be explained as that of disdain.

"Do excuse me, sister." He spoke softly and quietly, walking towards a small alleyway like area in which not many people were located.

His clothing started fizzling and steaming, being replaced with a completely different set of clothing. Ferrak walked back over to Addarra with a less than stellar look on his face, not sure about the style of clothing. His expression soon changed when he looked around at the beautiful buildings.

"Where to now, my dear?" He asked in wonderment.

Addarra gave a nod of approval when her brother returned with fine clothing. "You look dashing dear brother. I believe an audience with the Queen will be in order." The Goddess said pointing to the large castle that overlooked the city from atop a small hill. She summoned a Deinmaar in the disguise of a human and sent him off to tell the Queen of the impending arrival of two divines. Addarra giggled as the people throughout the town seemed to be brimming with happiness. The Moonlight Festival was just around the corner and Addarra absolutely loved it. "Brother, in a couple weeks these people will be having what is called, a Moonlight Festival. In dedication to yours truly," she said giving a playful hair flip. Her red wavy hair being gently flung over her shoulder. On the way to the Castle they passed a Temple dedicated to her and she could see a couple Golems had already taken up Statuesque appearances at the entrance to the structure. She was pleased that they guarded her people so vigilantly. "Brother dear, do you have any worshipers in these parts," she said motioning around to the people of Vallencourt.

"Ahh, ever the popular one me dear." He winked, starting to get used to the feel of his new attire, "I would love to attend, if you wouldn't mind?" He asked, almost innocently.

He looked over at the temple dedicated to his sister and chuckled to himself.

"I belive..an older couple, by the name of Branson." he pondered, "Alas, I am not such a popular being, mortals only see the death in me.." His gaze was drawn to his feet as they walked, his smile a mere shell of the one before it.

He brushed a finger over the piercing in his lip, twiddling it between his fingers, only his clothing had changed, his green hair still flowed across his face, covering one of his eyes over.

Addarra stopped the two and took both of her brother's hands in her's. "Your presence at the Moonlight Festival would be such a great honor to me." she said smiling. "As for those people only seeing death in you... well that is really their loss as you give all things life and beauty. This world couldn't exist without you dear brother." She said instinctively hugging him. "Now lets go meet the Queen, we could propose she start something to honor you. Some kind of festival to show both of your sides, and not just the death. I am sure she would, I have known her all her life." Addarra said smiling. It was true Queen Meredith wouldn't mind starting such a thing. If Vallaria did it then soon the other Kingdoms would as well.

Ferrak smiled warmly at his sister, "You always did know how to make me smile.." A slight blush crossed his face, no one ever really treated him that way, he wasn't used to such warm friendship. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, "Thank you.." He whispered into her ear.

Addarra blushed deeply by the affectionate response her brother gave her. The two walked chatting about recent events and about the awakening of their Advisers. The tasks they had been given by Avonch and other miscellaneous things. They soon arrived at the Castle and were ushered inside by guards and then trumpet blasts announced their arrival in a great gilded throne room of white marble and decorative markings. It was all to enshrine the Great Golden Ruby Throne that sat at the back of the room opposite the gilded doors. "Addarra my old friend, came the familiar voice of Queen Meredith, she sat atop her throne rising to her feet to walk and embrace her oldest friend. The Goddess smiled and waved for her brother to come here. "Meredith, this is my brother Ferrak," She said smiling. Queen Meredith took one of Ferrak's hands and said quite wittily, "I suppose I will be seeing you soon, dear Lord of Life and Death, I fear you not and you are welcome in my halls anytime." Meredith then winked. Making allusions to her advanced age. She had been on the throne for more than sixty years now, making Meredith a woman in her eighties. Addarra has spoken highly of you always." Meredith said to Ferrak, causing Addarra to smile wildly and to blush. Two other figures were sitting from where Meredith had come. One Addarra recognized as Meredith's husband, but in all her time knowing the Queen she had never seen the other person.

Ferrak smiled warmly at the greeting, "My queen, as a friend of my dear sister, I shall see to it myself that you are taken the utmost care of." He bowed and kissed her hand softly, "I am happy to hear that." Ferrak smiled at his sister who seemed to be blushing, and chuckled to himself.

"Meredith, I have a deep favor to ask of you." Addarra said elbowing her brother ever so lightly. "Anything for you my dear," Meredith said in a sweet tone. "I would like you to come up with some kind of festival to hold annually in honor of my brother here. He is not looked kindly upon by many since he is the God of Death, but he is also the God of Life and people need to find a way to appreciate that." Addarra said happily. Queen Meredith's face seemed to light up as something dawned on her. "I really don't know why we don't have something like this already," she said. "I will make sure that this coming spring we do a Festival in honor of you," She said turning to Ferrak. "Now Addarra I have someone you must meet, He is my great-grandson and my heir. His name is Henry and he is still quite young. His elder siblings perished in a fire that happened not long ago here in the castle. As did both of his parents." Queen Meredith said motioning for the young boy to come meet the two Deities. He was young and had blonde hair, his features and his smile reminded Addarra of when she had seen Meredith growing up all those years ago.

"Henry, this is Addarra, and her brother Ferrak," Queen Meredith said. It dawned on the boy who the two standing before him were and he bowed deeply to the two paying them much respect. "Good day to the two of you," he said his voice wavering some. "Good day Henry," Addarra said in the sweetest voice she could muster. "My old friend, I am sorry to only now hear of the loss of members of your family." Addarra said taking a hand of Meredith's in hers. "Thank you very much for preparing that festival, and I know I will see you when the Moonlight Festival happens. Ferrak will also be there," She said looking from her friend to her brother then to the child that stood before her. Queen Meredith smiled, "I am at your beck and call, Addarra, anything for my goddess. And I pleased that you will be there this year. It is supposed to be spectacular, or well so the Guild Masters are telling me." Meredith let out a little laugh.

Ferrak's face flushed a little and he smiled at the thought of having his very own festival.

When the young boy stepped forward, he nodded his head and smiled warmly, "Hello there, my young friend." He looked up and smiled at the queen, feelings of excitement brewing about the festival that was soon to come. He scanned the room quickly, taking in it's beauty whilst he had the chance.

"Darling brother, is there anything you wish to discuss or do?" Addarra asked. She was very pleased by these turn of events that today had yielded.

"My dear, I do have one request for you," Queen Meredith drew the attention of Addarra. "Yes, anything for you old friend." She said smiling at the aging Queen. "Well you know it is custom for future rulers of Vallaria to apprentice with another ruler," She said hesitantly. Addarra had no idea where exactly this was going. The Queen continued, "Well due to the security of the realm and that so many of those in line for the Ruby Throne..." she paused, "have died, it would be unwise for me to send young Henry to some foreign court. I was wondering," she said turning to Ferrak, "If you might be willing to take him on as an apprentice of sorts. Teaching him respect for all things, teaching him the ways of ruling. I know you are a Divine and that your ways are different from ours, but I also know through ancient scrolls that you have books on the lives of the past living. You could instill the best virtues of our past Kings and Queens into Henry here. I would be immensely grateful." Queen Meredith said with pleading eyes.

Addarra turned to Ferrak, "Brother, this would not be the first time one of us took an apprentice." She said calmly. "If you cannot then I will, but this child would learn much from you over the years. He would be a fine ruler, some day here in Vallaria. Besides it would keep you from moping around all the time and it would give me another good reason to visit you more often." She said smiling and rustling Henry's hair a little. The young boy looked from his great-grandmother to the Goddess and then finally with yearning eyes and smile to the God himself.

((Decided to throw you a curve ball))

Ferrak's expression turned to one of surprise, and he ran his hand through his hair, pushing his fringe completely backwards, something he did when he was thinking intensely.

"Why...of course!" He exclaimed after a few short seconds, "I would be honoured!" He chuckled, suddenly getting a little excitable.

He looked over to the young, blonde haired boy, and smiled his big toothy grin.

((Awh your brilliant you are! ;) ))

Both Meredith and Addarra started to smile and then laugh. The boy just smiled to himself. "Thank you, thank you, thank you" Queen Meredith said patting one of Ferrak's hands. "You bring great honor to my House," she exclaimed. "I know that being a God and all you have attained a boundless status, but for what is worth, I hereby bestow upon you the Honorary title of Defender of Vallaria." Queen Meredith said happily looking from the God to the Goddess. "Thank you Addarra. You have brought happiness and joy back into this old woman's heart. The entire Kingdom is really indebted to the two of you." She said before hugging Addarra.

Addarra was still half stunned and half overjoyed by Ferrak's acceptance. She smiled deeply knowing that this had brought happiness to Meredith and seemed to bring happiness to Ferrak as well. "Thank you" The goddess said hugging her brother tightly. "We will take him to The Faded Halls once the Moonlight Festival has been finished. This should give you, Henry and my brother time enough to set everything up." Addarra said looking at all the parties involved. "That sounds like a good plan," Queen Meredith said. A man approached wearing herald's attire and he whispered in the Queen's ear. "If you two will excuse me the High Council is convening to discuss the Moonlight Festival and some other matters of state. You are more than welcome to remain in the Castle or wander about the city," she said smiling. Giving Addarra a hug and patting one of Ferrak's hands again. "Thank you, my lord. You have brought more happiness to this old woman than you will ever know," she said smiling a tear running down one of her wrinkled cheeks. She turned with Henry in tow and left. "Goodbye!" Henry yelled as they disappeared through a door.

"I believe we should part ways for now, so as to let you get your matters in order, for Henry's stay." Addarra said looking at her brother and smiling.

((Wow! You are an amazing RPer if you were willing to accept that twist... lol wonderful.))

Ferrak bowed down to the queen once more, whilst he was a god, being accepted by this queen, this family, meant a great deal to him.

"I am equally greatful, my queen, it truly brings me great joy to accept your request." He grinned warmly, "I cannot thank you enough for this great honour."

He was slightly surprised when his sister hugged him, and eagerly hugged her back.

"I shall see you at the festival, my queen!" He beamed, a strange thought popping into his head, one of candied apples.

"Of course, dear sister, I shall return to my domain to prepare for his arrival." He replied, still beaming from the thought of candied apples.

((Noo, this'll be a fun sub plot to follow though! :D ))

Addarra had decided to stick around in Vallencourt City for the time being. Just wandering about and doing not-so-random acts of kindness to people that were in need. She thought it would also be good to stop in and speak with her High Priestess that resided here in one of the largest temples dedicated to the Goddess of Earth and Moon. This would be done after she had some of the local cuisine for dinner though. Addarra smiled to herself sheepishly as she looked in the market from stall to stall of food... wonderful food.

((YAY! Fun sub-plots!))
