This conversation is hilarious, but in reality, technically it was Russian because the name originated from a Russian Ballet Dancer, aka "Anna Pavlova"
 
It was made in honor of the Ballet dancer when she was on tour, popped up around when she was in Aus or NZ, maker unknown, and so the war begun.

A file about it says it originated as SOURCE by NZ, however the location it was created for was when Pavlova was in Aussie
