Mann sits at the dock like he usually does on early mornings, he was having his usual smoke when he notices a boat that had come untied and had floated out towards the middle of the lake; if it were out there a couple more hours, it could drift into the river and out to sea,

"Shit. Better get it back here." Mann says before hopping in one of the boats that the city has put there for public use. Mann turns on the old motor and cruises out near the boat, he then grabs the rope to the lost boat and pulls it up next to his boat. Mann ties the rope onto the oar rest and starts back towards the shore, suddenly a giant hand comes out of the water and grabs the lost boat before pulling it underwater,

"
WHAT THE FU-" Mann screams before being sent flying into the cold water, he scrambles to the surface and swims out as quickly as possible. Once on shore, Mann takes off towards the local general store/restaurant; the store is usually populated by elderly men who play chess, but Mann knew he could find help there.

He bursts in through the door to find not that many people there, he was shivering and was rubbing his arms to try and stay warm, a man comes from behind the counter and tells another employee to call 911. The man walks over and sits Mann down in one of the seats int the cafe portion of the store, he even gets Mann a quilt from one of the shelves and hands it to him. Mann wraps himself up in the quilt and starts to get warmer very slowly.

Villianna smacked on her bland bubblegum as she rode her bike casually down the road towards the local store. In the morning she discovered that her younger brother had eaten the rest of her favorite cereal. Enraged and irritated, she left her house in a hurry not exactly caring about her appearance.

And the result of that was her dark brown hair flying everywhere in her face. Adding more to her irritation she pulled away the strands that blocked her view or came close to sticking to her bubblegum.

I'm so going to kill him when I get home.

Soon Villianna came to a stop as she approached the local market. And questions began popping into her mind as she felt the tense atmosphere that did not usually reside over the shop. She quickly leaned the bicycle against the wall of the store and entered, wonder in her mind.

In a seat, covered by a quilt was a soaked boy, Mann to be exact. Being a waitress at a local restaurant she has become familiar with most of the populous in the town.
"Mann? Are you okay? What happened?" she quickly walked over to him, squatting down to get a better look at him.

Mann had a star-struck look on his face as he still shivered, not from being cold, but from his most recent encounter,

"N-No, something tried to fucking drown me, a giant hand, to be exact." Mann says, not with a harsh tone, but a terrified one.

Villianna's face scrunched up in confusion. A giant hand?

She decided not to question him at the moment, for his demeanor showed that he was not joking.
"Okay. What were you doing when this 'giant hand' came out and grabbed you?" she asked. For a moment she reviewed her question and added, "If you are up to recalling the incident that is. No need to relive it, if you do not wish to."

Mann shakes his head and shifts in his seat, he points towards the dock from where he just came from,

"I was out there, having my usual smoke, when I noticed a loose boat; a dingy, to be exact. So I went out there to get it, I tied it to my boat and was on my way to the shore when I looked back just in time to see this giant hand lunge out of the water and pull the first boat into the water. I was thrown in since my boat was tied to the first one. I'm scared out of my mind, I'm truly terrified." Mann takes out a wet cigarette box and retrieves a damp cig from within the box, one of the employees notices and points at him,

"
No smoking, sir." Says the man behind the counter,

"
Then why is there a fucking ash tray on the table?!" Mann asks as he motions the the ashtray upon the table with several cigarette butts in it. A couple of paramedics walk in after the exchange and check Mann to see if he has anything wrong with him, no Hypothermia, no Pneumonia, nothing wrong. The paramedics leave shortly after that.

Villianna nodded as she listened to what Mann described. Once the paramedics came in and finished checking on him she grabbed a seat and sat next to him. Villianna watched Mann snap at the employee.

"Mann, how about we go outside again? Perhaps then you can have your smoke and we can think this over," Villianna suggested. She didn't know what to think of the giant hand. Most of her believed him for she has seen some mysterious things and is quite open-minded about stories. But another part of her was sane in mind and trying to convince her that he was probably hallucinating or something. After all he is smoking. With conflict in mind she got up from her seat and stretched her hand out to Mann.

Mann gets up, still holding on to the quilt, and walks over to the clear glass door,

"Villiana, I tell you what, there have been more strange things going on lately. And I'm going to get to the bottom of this." Mann says as he gazes towards the ghost town that was easily spotted on the side of one of the mountains that was located near the town,

"
I've been seeing strange lights coming from that mountain, but I've always figured that they were workers or archaeologists or something like that. But I've seen those lights just shoot up into the air, on more than one occasion. I've also been seeing some weird things around my house, I don't mind if you think I'm crazy, go right ahead, but I know what I've seen." Mann says, his attention shifted from the town to Villiana as he talked.

Villianna nodded as she listened to Mann. Many thoughts were coming into mind but we're contradicted by personal experiences that sounded similar to Mann's. Now that she was actually talking to Mann personally rather than professionally, she kind of was enjoying the mystery that was unraveling before them.

"Okay. I hear you, and I believe you. You are not the only one who has seen those lights, but you are part of the few who actually pay attention to them," Villianna began. Her thoughts were interrupted when she looked up and saw people's eyes giving them odd looks. "Perhaps we should continue this conversation elsewhere. Do you have a place in mind that we can talk in private Mann?"

(Mann is 23, he isn't old at all.)

Mann's gaze at the mountain was interrupted by a girl who suddenly stepped in front of him,

"A giant hand tried to drown me." Mann says in a very disgruntled manner,

"
I guess we're aaaalllll caught up now!" Mann drags out the word "all" for somewhat of an effect. He then turns on his heals and heads over to the counter,

"
A pack of Menthols." Mann says as he nods towards the pack of cigarettes on the shelf behind the cashier. The cashier takes a pack off the shelf and sets it on the counter in between him and Mann,

"
That'll be two dollars, Mr. Mann." The cashier says in a monotone fashion. Mann pulls out two damp one dollar bills and sets them on the counter, the cashier looks back at Mann and says,

"
Sir, these dollar bills are wet, I can not-" The cashier was cut off,

"
Ah, your face is wet!" Mann replies before taking the pack and sitting back at the table. The cashier shrugs and takes the dollar bills before sliding them in the register.

"You talk of times of peace for all but then prepare for war" The lyrics blared in James's ears as he walked along the main road the lead out of town and into the forest towards an abandoned town that the locals dubbed "The Ghost Town" and for good reason too, since it was completely abandoned, James had heard horror stories about the place but he doubted that many were true.

About ten minutes later he arrived at the Ghost Town, stopping at the bottom of the steep hill that it was built on. He had been there many times but had never actually gone in any of the building but today was the day that he would do so. He pulled his headphones out of his ears and stepped onto the old wooden stairs that creaked loudly as walked up them.

As he reached the top of the stairs, everything became much more spookier, the wind made the old wooden walls of the builds creak loudly. The first building he arrived at was an old school house, the door had been removed allowing him to walk straight in, as he did this he felt a violent shove to his back sending him sprawing across the floor as he turned his head quickly to see who or what had pushed him he saw a blur of white dissapear from few.

"Hey!" He yelled angrily jumping up to his feet and running after the blur, but once he exited the school house there was nothing in site. He quickly became more spooked out, leading to him running quickly back towards the town, more specifically back to the small general store in the middle of town that his father owned.

"Crap!" Sienna's sister shouted seemingly at the dark navy Alaskan waters. She'd lost the huge salmon she'd been sure she had a good hold on. Sienna rolled her eyes, but remained silent as she sat on the bow of The Catalina. The Catalina was a beautiful boat with white leather seats, and a spacious bedroom inside. It was an anniversary gift from Sienna's father to her mother, and Brooklyn was old enough to drive it around. Not too far from the harbor, of course.

When Sienna and her three sisters were off the boat, and Brooklyn was sure it was tied down securely, she did what she normally did: split up form her sisters. It wasn't that she didn't adore her siblings, but living in such a small home with crazy hormonal females for hours, especially during blizzards, was a lot to ask for.

Walking along the town streets was one of Sienna's favorite pastimes. She loved the little place with all her heart. Sienna took in a refreshing breath of cool, crisp air, soft golden hair swishing around behind her. Another glorious day.

Mann looks at Vilianna and nods, he then motions towards the door, he then gets up and heads over to the door. Mann assumes that Vilianna is following him as he heads down the street and towards the opposite end of the town, there is a road beside one of the buildings which leads to Mann's house.

Villianna watched in silence as Mann snapped at the cashier. She gave an inward sigh. That incident must've really spooked him. Once he motioned for her to follow, she did.

As they strolled down the streets, she glanced around to see if maybe anything abnormal will show up. But being it was practically midday she doubted anything would be showing up at this time. It seems as though the cryptids favored the night rather than day.

Her eyes then wandered back to the front where they ended up in front of Mann's house. She stood there gawking over the home, not only by its beauty but the situation. It is true she was already familiar with the guy but she wasn't exactly ready to be going to his home. She decided not to say anything since his mind was already occupied with other things.

"Nice house you got here," was all she could muster.

James turned a corner sharply as he reached the edge the town, he was still quite spooked out by what had just happened at the ghost town, there were alot of rumors about creatures living there but James had never believed them, but maybe just maybe there was something there?

Suddenly James ran straight into two people who were standing on the footpath, his vision went blurry as he fell over from the impact.

Mann looks at Vilianna and nods, he too enjoyed his house and thought it was nice as well,

"Thanks, took me quite some time to get enough money for it. Now, why don't we go inside?" Mann asks as he goes to take a step forward, but before he could actually step, a man charges into him accidentally. They both go to the ground with a solid THUD, Mann gets up, leaving the quilt on the ground as he does so. He looks at the guy who ran into him and quickly reacts,

"
Crap, Villianna, help me get him inside!" Mann says as he darts over and helps the man up. Mann then carries him over to the door and starts to try and unlock it with one key on a large key ring, then he proceeds to try and unlock the door with another one and another.

Villianna squeaked when a man suddenly ran into Mann. If Villianna hadn't been standing a bit aways from Mann she would've fallen over also. She recovered when Mann got up and began picking him up. She then heard a command from him.

Villianna nodded and approached the man. She picked up the other half of him and carried him with Mann. Struggling with his weight, Villianna huffed with exhaustion already. She watched with anticipation as Mann unlocked the door to his home.

Mann caries him inside with the help from Villianna and sets him down on the couch, Mann then walks to another room and returns with a first aid box. He then proceeds to examine the man's head,

"Well, he's only bleeding a little. He should be fine!" Mann says before opening the box and pulling out some gauze bandages and gauze pads,

"
Villianna, would you be a dear and go into the second door from the last in the hallway and putting on some coffee? The pot should be primed so all you need to do is flip on the pot." Mann says as he carefully tends to the person's head.

(Sorry if I'm a little impatient today, I have to complete an essay but I'm also RPing at the same time.)

Villianna gave a sigh of relief once they placed the man down. She lifted her hand up to wipe off some sweat that appeared on her forehead. Placing both hands on her hips she took some deep breaths in. Feeling at ease, she was about to sit down when she heard Mann ask her to make coffee.

Dear? Huh? One of her eyebrows raised as a response to the call. But she decided that perhaps coffee would do them good, anyways she made one of the best coffees in town. "Sure, honey. I can make some coffee," Villianna responded with a slight emphasis on honey.

Reviewing his directions in her mind, Villianna made her way to his kitchen.
Damn...this is one nice kitchen. She stared in awe for a few seconds more than she should've had. Villianna at first had a hard time navigating everything in his kitchen. Soon she saw the pattern and found all the necessary things. After a few minutes she had three cups of coffee ready in hand.

With ease she carried all three coffees with just her arms over to the living room.
"Here you go, three coffees," Villianna answered.

Mann nods as he gets up from beside the couch and grabs a cup of coffee,

"Thanks, Villianna. Anyways, so back at the diner, you were wanting to talk about something?" Mann asks before setting his coffee down on the wooden table beside the red vinyl seat that's facing the window and walking over to the coat rack beside the door, he then takes off his huntring jacket to reveal a light flannel on underneath it. Mann then walks over to the chair which his coffee was beside and sits in it,

"
If you want to know more about the strange occurrences, I wouldn't mind talking about them." Mann says as he gets snug in his seat.

Also, @Vampirelovee, if you guys could somehow merge your stories with ours, that would be great.

@LifeNovel

"Mmm? Oh yes."

Villianna took a seat across from Mann. She grabbed one of the cups and crossed her legs as she leaned into the cushions of the couch. Thinking of what to say she took a sip of the coffee before she spoke.

"I believed what you said back there. I have had my fair share of freaky things," she began. Hesitation overtook her tone as she debated if she wanted to even recall her share. Feeling it's for the best, she closed her eyes to think about the haunting memories.

"It was a Tuesday night. After 10:30 when I was finally able to get off my night shift," she paused to take a deep breath to calm her racing heart, "As I was walking home I felt as if there was someone following me. I ignored it since I have had guys follow me before but never approach me since they all knew I had pepper spray. But this feeling continued to grow stronger the more I walked further away from the lights of the diner. So I decided to turn back. And what I saw...God...it was...it was not..." Her eyes popped open at this point. The cup in her hands were clinking indicating Villianna shivering.

Mann notices her fear and quickly holds a hand up as a sign to calm down,

"It's alright, you don't have to continue, I think I should share a story of mine." Mann takes a large swig of his coffee before looking over at the other guy's cup of coffee,

"
If that guy doesn't wake up in a couple of minutes, I'll put his coffee in the microwave so it doesn't get cold. Anyways, so I was out hunting one night, the same night I got that bugger up there." Mann says as he motions towards the bear skin up on the wall, (It's in the picture.)

"
And I was hiding in a small bush whenever I heard something a couple of feet up in front of me, so I ready my elephant rifle before aiming at whatever it was. It didn't take time for my eyes to adjust before I realized it was no animal, it was this thing, about four feet tall, it didn't have a body, just tall legs connected to a head. Needless to say, it didn't look like a human, and I was wanting to call out to ask who had lost their slacks." Mann takes a short amount of time to chuckle at his own joke before shaking his head,

"
Needless to say, I just crept away to wonder what the hell that thing was." Mann takes another swig of his coffee before picking up a small remote on the table beside himself and turning on a CD player that wasn't too far away. A song starts and Mann turns it down just a tad so the music is simply background music.

Mann sets the remote down and looks back to Villianna with a small smile,

"
I hope you don't mind, I really like this band." Mann says with sincerity.

(I know I said I wanted this to be in the 90's but, screw it, whatever.)

@LifeNovel

Villianna felt gratitude when he announced that she did not need to proceed. She began to speak in the first place because she felt an obligation to share something in order for him to believe her honesty. Her shivering lessened as she listened to his story.

Her eyes widened as he described the thing he saw.
That was what I saw that night.

She then stopped her thinking to listen to the music.
"I don't mind. It might help settle things," she mumbled.

Mann enjoyed the company of the waitress, he had only talked to her a couple of times in the past, but they always seem to have such great conversations,

"Yeah, I'll be right back, I'm gonna go get some firewood from outside. It's going to be a cold night, you can stay if you want, but if not, I'd suggest leaving in the next four hours." Mann says as he gets up and walks over to the door, he takes his hunting jacket and puts it on before heading outside. Mann walks to the side of his house and gets several logs of firewood,

"
Going to have to get two hauls, I guess." Mann says as he trudges back up the hill that runs down the opposite side of side of his house. Once Mann gets back around to the front of his house, he notices a creature standing in front of the window. Mann slowly sets the wood down and proceeds to quietly walk back to the other side of his house where he enters through the back door, once inside, Mann speed walks down the hallway and unlocks a certain room in the hallway and then proceeds to walk through the door and down the stairs which the door contains. At the bottom of the stairs is another door that reads, "Courtesy Of the City For the Museum Of Guns".

racksysafterlg.jpg

Inside the room is a ludicrous amount of guns and weapons, so many guns that no person could afford on Mann's budget. He then walks inside and plucks an Henry Repeater from one of the racks before grabbing an ammo box from one of the drawers and heading back up the stairs, making sure to close the doors behind him, plus locking them. He sets the bullets on the counter in the kitchen and loads the guns before heading back into the living room,

"
Villianna, stay here and don't look out the window." Mann says before creeping out the back door.
