The adventures of Mottley and crew [Inactive]

Nodding, Tavi flipped his book open fully and found the correct passage. "I imagine a binding stun spell shall suffice..." Without waiting for a confirmation, he raised his arm and quickly muttered a forgotten dialect, the language of his kind. From the air, bright white chains with pointed over sized spears shot towards Mottley from four different directions.

The spell hits Mottley but has zero effect, just dissapearing once in contact with him. "That, is why i can hunt mages so well, they can't hurt me. Also i have a keen sight when it comes to finding weakspots in magical armour, rendering it useless also. Is that what you wanted Tavi?"

Alanna stood and stretched. "Sure. But where's this target?" Her cat leaped to her shoulder in anticipation of the journey.

"Him?" Tavi faltered. "I thought we were after ONE mage. There are other targets?" To himself, Tavi thought, 'I remember asking the elder once why true mages were dying out in the world... I suppose this is beginning to answer it.' "This doesn't necessarily change anything of our agreement, but how many targets are there?"

"There are five people we have to kill in order for our target to be irradicated completely, Khulgor the flame, Rhazik the shadow, Deren of the water, Mortimer the stone and Zohar the swift. Once they are gone the threat is gone."

Alanna perks up at the mention of water. "So it's like....mages of the elements?" Her cat purrs and appears to nod.

Releasing a sigh, Tavi added,"I see why this quest might take a year. Still, they're not sages, so things should be fine." Clutching his book slightly, he remembers his encounter with the fire sage twenty or so years ago.

Alanna skidded to a stop in front of Mottley. "Woah woah woah. You can't just kill a mage in a single night! That would be nearly impossible even with your magic catching power!"

Alanna raised her eyebrow skeptically. "And what do you need us for then? I don't really get it. Why not keep all the treasures and glory to yourself?"

"Because Zohar is the weakest, we will kill them in progression, so by the time we get to Khulgor it will be beyond my power."

Thinking, Tavi flipped his book open. "That depends. It's one thing to kill mages, it's another to understand their magic. There are three levels of understanding on which magic can be used from a person, one would be the magic of words and enchantments, the most common type of magic. Then comes the inner power magic, or in another words, ability specializing magic. Finally there exists the most rarest and hardest to posses type, ancestral type magic, or in other words, true magic. Within those three categories, countless number of spells exist." Finishing his small lecture, Tavi pointed to himself. "By the way, I'm an ancestral type. If this man is a words type, then countering all of his spells would be a matter of flipping my hand and releasing some magic. If he is an inner ability type, all I could do would be to strengthen all of you to combat him. If he is somehow an ancestral type, then this will become a sage battle... But of course, him possessing ancestral magic would be impossible. One must undergo training from the previous sage to become one, and possess some sort of title only known to few mages."

Alanna's mouth drops open. "Wha....?" Her brain couldn't quite handle all the information. Shaking herself out of her stupor, she grinned. "Well then! That works for me!"

"Rhazik may be a sage, but the others are the inner power type." Mottley started to jog "better hurry or else we won't make it in time."

"A sage huh..." Jogging to keep up with Mottley, Tavi began to think deeply. 'There were six sages in the world, and not all of them knew of each other, my master didn't even know before she was... Never mind, that's not important. What's important now is that now it's my duty to return the rogue darkness sage back onto the council of essence, so that he can properly rule the darkness element." Tavi was beginning to sweat, not out of tiredness, but of fear. His strength as the newest sage were going to be tested soon.

Gerrick jogged alongside the group, quietly. Though he appeared disinterested, he was actually listening intently. He silently wondered which group his own ability belonged to.

Alanna trailed behind the rest of the group, getting distracted by squirrels. Her cat leaped of her shoulder and began to stalk something in the grass.

Elis followed them, looking around. She was not really sociable so she stayed quiet as always. She was not very listenning.

"Elis." Tavi threw in quietly, as he matched his pace to yours. "Are you still interested in that dragon born thing?" He looked over to her quizingly, attempting to make small talk.

Not wanting to reveal what he has seen, Tavi simply looked forward. On our travels, if we ever get close, I know an old man. He has a strong ability over water, and thus can look inside of a persons soul like a pool." The reason why he directed her to someone else is because he couldn't confirm what he sees. Even observing it for too long makes his senses go numb, telling him it was unnatural and against the laws of order, everything his magic symbolizes.
